Nothing wrong with the gym itself, but, an issue with the default tv channels. I was just a guest for a day, but I noticed that all, except one, of the news channels for the tvs were set to stations that, at most factual, are racists and conspiracy theorists. I know that I could have asked to change the channels, but I was more focused on my workout. Just leaving a review here so that whoever needs it, has it, and so that management takes a minute to considered how news stations, background noise as they are, might affect a gym-goer's experience of a "judgement free-zone." read more

I've worked out here twice, both weekend afternoons. I've worked out at 5 other PF locations and this one compares favorably. It wasn't crowded either day. This location is spacious with plenty of parking. There are many machines and they are in good condition. Only one selector weight machine was out of service, and there was another of the same type working well. Cleanliness in the gym was good. Customers don't clean the machines as much as at other locations. I did not use the locker room. read more

A first rate fitness center. They have some amazing equipment and amenities. Open great number of hours to accommodate many schedules. Best of all I like their sign "No Critics". We are all on individual fitness journeys and each of us should judge our own progress. I'm glad I signed up and recommend doing so with a partner in fitness. The gym itself is clean, and the equipment is up to date. But the staff is very unpleasant. They're very rude. I have the black card so I can bring a workout partner for free anytime. But I've been given trouble several times there for bringing somebody to work out with me. I use a keychain instead of the app. They required me to download the app in order to check in every time and make my partner do the same. They also harass you while you're working out. For the Judgment free zone, I have been judged many times and won't be back due to the extremely rude staff. read more

Gym is plenty big enough with lots of machines. It seems to be maintained pretty well and the staff are friendly. My only problems are, the music is too loud to the point where I can barely hear the tv when wearing earbuds. Also, I think it's time for a different radio station. The showers are hit or miss on whether you'll have enough hot water to shower. Somebody likes playing with the settings I believe. Other than that, I can get in, get my workout done and get out. This was my earlier review 2 months ago. Since then, it's the same. I would speak to the manager but I'm there either early in the morning or later in the evening, so my concerns seem to fall on deaf ears. The music is so loud at times I can't hear the tv with my earbuds on. Somebody needs to look at this and then maybe I'll change my review. read more

This spot is easy to get to, not too crowded, has a nice selection of equipment and machines. It does have the full tanning and aqua massage bed section too, get the Black Card it's worth it. I have the black card and this is probably my favorite planet fitness in the area! It's very spacious and almost never crowded, even at peak times after work I have no problem using the machines I want to where other PFs are crazy and I wouldn't even dare go after work. The gym is kept very clean and the staff is always helpful! The only thing I hate is the TVs are blue for some reason instead of normal colored? Working out is hard enough sometimes and the fact that I can't even look at the TVs while trying to do my cardio is annoying. Please fix the TVs !!! read more

Don't do it...they don't refund any fees and they don't tell you they are charging you. They say you need to cancel 7 days before they charge you but don't tell you or remind you...I am now paying for an annual fee for a year of service that I am not a member of...this is actually 2 times as I was also paying for my wife's account as well...they have no customer service, they hid behind no we don't send updates you need to watch it every year...they lost my business forever and everyone I meet I will tell about my experience with them... read more

Aside from the fact that I live around the corner from this location, this PF is well run, clean, and adequately equipped (2 pec/shoulder fly machines, for instance, where most locations I've been to have 1). Dan, the General Manager is a true success story and was highlighted at the annual PF franchisees conference this year. I travel frequently for work, which makes the Black Card the best $20 monthly investment I can make. I am truthful when I say that this PF location is among the best I've been to since joining 2+ years ago, and I've probably been to about 50 around the country. read more

Finally have all new machines and equipment at this location after months on complaining. There nice and easy to use and great to finally have stuff not half work or be broken or try and find a bench to use. Now only of they could improve some of the staff and there wonderful lol not trainer or helper who would rather be on his phone or talk to friends then help the customers. read more

I'm not sure if there is a new manager here or if I've just been seeing them more often, but they've become a lot more pushy. I guess that's part of their job - pushing sales for their location - but it's put me off a little bit. I wanted to lower my membership to the basic one, at $10 a month, because I don't visit the other gyms anymore since moving and it took two tries before I was able to actually do it without them trying to sell me on the more expensive membership. It also seems that lately, more machines seem to be out of order than usual. It's still decent for the cost, but I'll probably end up checking out Work Out World which, for the same price, offers a lot of great classes. read more

I usually enjoy coming to this Planet Fitness on Diamond Hill Road in Woonsocket. Staff is usually friendly. Since COVID I know everyone is doing their best. Staff turns off the televisions, they may turn off the music when it becomes close to closing time I don't see an issue with these things and I actually think it's pretty smart. it's rude and annoying that a small boy approached me to tell me "we close in 10 minutes". It's one thing to drop hints and it's another to approach me while I'm cooling down from my work out. I come here multiple times a week and this is the first time in many years that I've been rushed out of a gym. Not pleased. read more

Recently moved to the area and I would love to join this gym, but I will NOT allow a 3rd party to draft into my checking account. This type of arrangement is notoriously bad for the consumer. If a business doesn't want to take credit cards because they don't want to incur the fees - fine, whatever. I was told that the only way I could join was to pay for an annual contract outright - "Great, fine; let's do that...." only to learn that this offer applies to the basic membership only - not the Black Card. Why?? Seriously, you have consumers willing to purchase the most expensive membership product you have and are willing to pay you 100% upfront annually... but you don't allow it. The worst costumer service my wife went in and tried to use black card members. I go in the am because we have a newborn so when I got home to watch the kids so my wife can go they told her she couldn't go in without me so they wanted me to go all the way back to the gym just so she can get in. They wouldn't give her the consideration to say have him separate memberships to two single memberships in the morning the next day not good and still let her go but there management said no not good customer service I'm new to the city of Woonsocket just came from Worcester Mass and Jim's out our way never do that always customer service friendly they let you win for the day cuz you're not hurting anybody going in working out and not losing money but now they're losing money customer and getting a bad review! I've been going here since it opened when I was in high school and now I hate going to any other gym. The hours are great and the staff is friendly. I'm comfortable and very familiar with the layout and the equipment. The organization and setup is super easy to follow even for someone who has never been to a gym before. I recently moved to south Cumberland but I still make the 25 minute drive one way so I can continue using this particular location. Love it here! read more

I have been to several PFs in RI and Mass, and the Woonsocket PF is definitely my favorite. I like the size and, in general, the layout. I like that the cardio area and weight area is clearly separated. The locker room (for women, at least) is always clean, and I've never seen the trash over flowing in the gym area. I would suggest having multiples of some of the weight machines, as I've seen at other PFs. read more

My gf an i signed up the web site said 20a month cancel anytime never did it say only for the 10$ plan i moved to be with an ill relative and needed to cancel then rejoin when i moved back they said i had to come in person and that could not be done i had moved . Now to this day they still try to charge the account and get nothing. I wanted to squash it and rejoin or get back to the gym now being back in ri and they wanted nothing to do with helping when i still wanted the services i dropped off a cancelation letter as well after and was told later they never received it .. Guess ill cancel the card and u get nothing . In which is what i received for help with keeping a membership thanks again real service there . read more

Love it here, strong wifi, clean, go almost daily. The only issue I have is that many people do not clean the machines after themselves, and this place has made it very easy for them to do so by providing many stations ( much appreciated ) . What I do now is wipe them down myself before I use them. Problem solved. Lots of equipment, lots of tvs and channels to choose from, all around great experience. I recently relocated to this area. I come to this gym 3-4 times a week in the morning. I am always welcome politely and satisfied with the service desk representatives. Unfortunately last night, I had a rude and hostile encounter with one of the employee named Davon. He was not at the counter when I arrived to check in . When he approached me I was not greeted kindly. Moreover, when I continue to check in the gym, he questioned my legitimacy of my membership at this gym and his comments of my "home gym location" was problematic. He made me feel as though my guess or I was not permitted. In addition to that, he left the front desk to come and approach me while I was working out. To speak to me in condescending tone and threatened me. This made me feel very uncomfortable. Due to this experience here, I will be canceling my membership and bringing my money elsewhere. To sum it up, management should retrain him. His poor customer service and imprudent behavior should be re-evaluated. read more
