Do you know if you do nothing Your ETF payments will start automatically flowing to Midtown? They can do nothing and sit back and rake it in. It is we the customer who have to go to considerable trouble of cancelling our ETF payments if we don't want our money to go to this over crowded gym that we have never even entered before and did not choose. They have no room. Equipment is jammed together willy nilly all over the place. This is nothing like we signed up for at World Gym. Everyone should cancel their ETF payments immediately. Also it is a complete lie that they are honoring World Gym's contracts. I pay by ETF but my neighbor paid World Gym upfront and got several extra months in return for paying in advance. Is Midtown honoring my neighbor's contract? It is not , despite the statement on their web page. SO CANCEL YOUR ETF"S . I suspect they are paying under the table money to World Gym depending on how many passive suckers stick with them.

True Performance Training came as recommendation from a friend, and Filipe Cotas (the owner and…read moretrainer) did not disappoint! I was looking for someone who would work with my 14 year-old brother on the 5x5 program that his school had assigned for the upcoming soccer session. Filipe was fantastic. He modified the program to better fit my brother's soccer needs and was incredibly patient and down-to-earth. My brother worked with him for about 8 weeks (roughly 3x a week)and felt huge difference during tryouts. The facility is brand new and well equipped plus Filipe's pricing is incredibly reasonable. You pay as you go and there is no need to sign up for an annoying gym membership. Here is what my brother has to say about his time with Filipe: Filipe not only helped me to become a stronger person but a more determined one, as his deep knowledge of fitness combined with his welcoming personality and unending patience created an environment of hard work and perseverance. His emphasis on proper form taught me the importance of not only the weight of what I was lifting but the technique I was using to lift that weight. Additionally, Filipe did not judge me but rather encouraged me to keep going when I made mistakes, giving me pointers to do so, all leading me to not only obtaining the strength I needed but the knowledge and work ethic to continue to develop. So in closing, Filipe's knowledge and understanding of fitness not only create a friendly environment to work out in but a mindset centered on hard work and dedication. P.S. - I recommend arriving 5 minutes early for sessions to accommodate yourself before Filipe starts working with you. Also, do not be afraid to speak up if you are not certain about something, at any point during your work out. Finally, push yourself -- no matter how exhausting it may be, Filipe will be right be your side to encourage you the whole way. I was visiting Massachusetts over Christmas and was looking for a weightlifting gym where I could…read moretrain. Mary answered the phone when I called and invited me to come by. Im super glad I was able to find this place! When I got there, she warmly greeted me and made sure I had everything I needed, even asking me if the music was to my liking (it was!). This is an extremely well-equipped weightlifting gym with 8 full size platforms, Olympic bars, bumper plates, power racks, blocks, and chalk stands. Thinhs were super well organized, even down to the order to the plates. Throw in a few Hookgrip / ATG / USA Weightlifting banners and I was good to go! The first thing Mary had me do were some overhead squats on a vibrating plate to loosen up my muscles. Afterwards, I got on the platform and did a few snatches with just the bar. She mentioned there would be a class soon and, not wanting to miss out on coaching, I gladly agreed to take the class. Mary was super attentive and gave her full attention to watching each lifter perform the complexes she programmed. Each lift was videotaped on an iPad, and between lifts, Mary reviewed the footage with me 1 on 1 to identify issues with my form. I could see exactly what she was talking about, and fixing these problems really helped me extend and catch more confidently. Needless to say, I absolutely love this visual approach to coaching, and her advice was very easy to understand. I only wish that I had more time to spend at this gym. Their drop-in rate is $20, or $30 to drop-in and take a class, which I think is very reasonable given the quality of the coaching and how nice the facility is. I'll definitely be back to visit when I am in the area again!

I Apple-Mapped my way to this Planet Fitness in South Easton earlier this week in between meetings…read more I recently upgraded to the Black Card as I'm going to be on the road more for the next few months, so this was my first time using a Planet Fitness location other than my home club. Overall, a very solid experience. The gym was clean and well cared for, the locker room was in good shape, and the showers were better than what I have experienced at a lot of gyms over the years; strong water pressure and consistent temperature, which is not something I take for granted. The staff really stood out. Friendly, approachable, and genuinely funny in a way that makes the place feel relaxed rather than corporate. At one point I was trying a piece of equipment I do not normally use and heard a dreaded "thunk." For a moment, I worried the infamous Lunk alarm would sound! I flagged down a staff member, who watched me for a moment, reassured me that my form was fine, joked that he hears the same thing at his own gym, and said he would make sure the machine got lubricated. Low-key, helpful, and exactly how that situation should be handled. My only frustration is less about this specific club and more about Planet Fitness as a brand. If you follow a structured routine and are used to certain machines, it can be frustrating to discover mid-workout that a specific piece of equipment simply is not available at a particular location. You end up wandering the floor trying to confirm whether it is missing or just hidden somewhere. I do not blame the franchisee; space is limited and equipment choices are real business decisions. But given how much Planet Fitness already leans into technology, it feels like a missed opportunity. A simple, up-to-date inventory of machines by location, accessible in the app or via QR code, would make life much easier for members who move between clubs. Despite that quibble, this was a strong visit, and I would absolutely work out here again when I am in the area.

During the time I went there though, I notice a huge turnover in staff, along with several popular machines out of service on a regular basis.
