So there hasn't been a recent posting for this gym, so I felt the need to comment. I started a job…read morein Mass and needed to find an AF nearby, and it came down to this one, and the one in Grafton. BUT because of the negative Yelp postings for Medway, i avoided it. I can tell you that THAT WAS A BAD DECISION!! (Don' get me wrong - Grafton AF isn't bad) Now, i don't know what happened back in 2012/13, but those postings are NOT for today's Medway AF! It's possibly one of the cleanest gyms that i've been to, with a great variety of equipment to use... ranging from cardio (treadmills, ellipticals, stairmasters & a jacob's ladder, if i'm not mistaken), to machines, to a wide variety of free weight options! Now, it's not a HUGE gym, but for it's size (and it's not tiny), it offers a lot of options for you. And to my surprise, it has an "outdoor gym" - but i've been hitting this gym at 5am, that is only open when there's staff so... makes sense. I'm driving in from CT for my job, so if\when I move to Mass, Medway AF will be my new "home gym"!

I broke my back 3 years ago. The functional training areas, knowledgeable staff and great yoga and other classes helped me get the well rounded experience that one needs with such a long road to recovery. Yesterday, I touched my toes for the first time in 3 years. I went home and wrestled with my little boy, and I did it with strength and confidence that I built in these 4 walls. If you're not convinced that this is your spot, come by, have a shake and check it out. This is the last gym you join! See you out there folks!

They advertise all sorts of amenities--equipment, classes, personal training, a sauna--but good luck actually using any of them. Booking anything is an exercise in pure frustration, the sauna is never working, and the locker rooms are filthy. And don't even think about trying to cancel your membership. It's a complete scam. They'll send you in circles between phone calls, emails, and in-person visits, each time insisting you need to submit your request in a different way. They never call you back, and just when you think you've finally escaped, they somehow manage to make it worse. At one point, I even received a "Reactivate Your Account" email--suggesting my membership had been canceled. Turns out, that was a lie. Instead, they must have messed with my information in their system because I never heard another word... until I suddenly found out my account was in collections. Unbelievable. Save yourself the headache. Avoid this place at all costs.

The employees are approachable without being intrusive, knowledgeable without being condescending, and always willing to assist with genuine enthusiasm. The atmosphere strikes a rare balance between motivation and comfort. Whether one is pursuing an intense training session or a more measured workout, the space accommodates all fitness levels with ease. It is evident that this gym values not just physical wellness, but the overall experience of those who train within its walls. In sum, this establishment is far more than a place to exercise--it is a refined, well-run facility that exemplifies excellence in both service and environment. I would recommend it without hesitation to anyone seeking a gym that prioritizes cleanliness, professionalism, and respect for its members.

Then I was drying my hair and a woman stopped to ask me if there was any hot water for a shower. Told her no and she replied with "there has been no hot water for 3 weeks and people are leaving because of it!" A good amount of people come here in the morning, get their work out in and then shower and proceed to go to work or wherever they may be going for the rest of the day. It's too bad because they increase the membership fees, don't take care of the gym equipment, and clearly don't take care of providing hot showers for their paying customers!! True Performance Training came as recommendation from a friend, and Filipe Cotas (the owner and…read moretrainer) did not disappoint! I was looking for someone who would work with my 14 year-old brother on the 5x5 program that his school had assigned for the upcoming soccer session. Filipe was fantastic. He modified the program to better fit my brother's soccer needs and was incredibly patient and down-to-earth. My brother worked with him for about 8 weeks (roughly 3x a week)and felt huge difference during tryouts. The facility is brand new and well equipped plus Filipe's pricing is incredibly reasonable. You pay as you go and there is no need to sign up for an annoying gym membership. Here is what my brother has to say about his time with Filipe: Filipe not only helped me to become a stronger person but a more determined one, as his deep knowledge of fitness combined with his welcoming personality and unending patience created an environment of hard work and perseverance. His emphasis on proper form taught me the importance of not only the weight of what I was lifting but the technique I was using to lift that weight. Additionally, Filipe did not judge me but rather encouraged me to keep going when I made mistakes, giving me pointers to do so, all leading me to not only obtaining the strength I needed but the knowledge and work ethic to continue to develop. So in closing, Filipe's knowledge and understanding of fitness not only create a friendly environment to work out in but a mindset centered on hard work and dedication. P.S. - I recommend arriving 5 minutes early for sessions to accommodate yourself before Filipe starts working with you. Also, do not be afraid to speak up if you are not certain about something, at any point during your work out. Finally, push yourself -- no matter how exhausting it may be, Filipe will be right be your side to encourage you the whole way.
