Purchased a couple guns and accessories from this place. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable.

My experience with the sales person was stellar. They were very knowledgeable, friendly and took me through the ins and outs of all the choices that they have available. The place is clean and large, the selection is vast. The issue is after the purchase and going to this DMV style room with these miserable people that are processing the last portion of your purchase is horrific! It's worse than the DMV because these people are packing. During my last visit there I was made to wait for an additional hour and a half just to get some paperwork processed. They also processed at least four people that started waiting after I arrived. The woman was constantly panting and is clearly distress, she should be employed elsewhere where she doesn't have to deal with the public. I went with a friend who was impressed by the level of care and service on the sale side, but horrified and will never buy from the store now because of the experience after. read more

Largest gun selection in ct. prices are good. Always great staff very helpful and welcoming. I have made a few purchases here over the past few years. Excellent service very efficient. Always pretty busy but they move you thru with their efficient process. Highly recommend everyone stopping in if your on the market. Poor customer service! The sales guy could not be bothered with me because I had some questions about buying parts for my AR. He kept saying "I don't know what you can or can't buy call CSP and they will tell you." WTF!!!! I specifically went to a gun shop for their expertise and their knowledge of what is compliant in this state. This guy had no clue on what he was doing or talking about. He wouldn't even give me a price on Comp Mags for my rifle. He just kept pointing them out on the setups they have in the store. I was told by friends and coworkers to go there and check them out. What a mistake! I got pissed off with this guy's lousy attitude and walked out. I spent my money elsewhere and got my custom build setup just the way I wanted it. So, I will state this has nothing to do with their live firearms and everything to do with the airsoft side. I left a Airsoft rifle in Feb 25' to be worked on by their tech. I asked that the gun be upgraded with multiple different specs. (Range, hop up, fps ..etc). Throughout the year I was met with silence from the tech, I even called multiple times (around 6 or 7) for updates to be told our tech isn't here I will have them call....nothing. I got called later in July a told a motor is on backorder but the gun is done and ready for testing when it comes in should be a week. Great.. I get my gun back after i finally get a call in OCT 25' that it has been done for a bit and was awaiting my pickup then excuses. I get to the store only thing done to my gun is a motor was changed nothing else was done to the gun. I would have done that myself. I got nothing but excuses from the store employees no compensation from the fact in the timeframe i had to change my life and move to PA, so a had to drive a LONG distance to get my gun back. Glad I moved so I never have to be tempted to try to utilize their services. read more

I went to ( The Gun Store ) to sell my * Kimber 1911 aegis elite pro * The worker at the store told me, he check ( Gun Broker ) and told me they are going for ( $900.00 ) He offered me $500.00?! . I politely told him, ill pass, that's too much of a hit. I paid $1300.00 there! If they don't have something, they can get it for you. The staff is very knowledgeable. Sig p 365 tacops front sight if you go watch the vidio on you tube nick for lively out doors told little city gun shop where he baught his gun in Arkansa that sig said it will tack 6 to 8 weeks to get the gun back they said man that is ridiculous we will have it taken care of in 4 days know that store ordered the sight and overnighted them honering and standing behind there products. In Short: The store is amazing! The selection of firearms and variety of all other items, makes it very difficult to walk out without a purchase. The staff was EXTREMELY friendly, very knowledgeable and they worked very well together; a true "work family" (great job with the selection of staff hired). I've purchased many, many firearms over the years, and none could compete with the speedy, efficient process "The Gun Store" has in place. Each person involved with our purchase had a task to do, and they did it well (like a well-oiled machine). Our experience: Bob was our salesperson, and we can't say about his courteousness, professionalism, and his vast of knowledge. Truly one of the nicest people we've met, and after serval hours, feel like we've known for a while. We purchased two handguns, some ammo and gear. The handgun I originally went for, after conversation and clarification with Bob, turned out NOT to be all I thought it was, but found one that was exactly what I wanted, and a third sidearm has been purchased. This pace came highly recommended so I came on a Saturday The place was well stocked with plenty of variety. What they failed to inform me until after I paid and they shoved me in a cold, crowded back room to wait with a is that there was a more than 2 hour wait to complete the paperwork in order to leave with my firearm. While the staff is friendly and knowledgeable, the fact that they did not mention at all that the wait was more than 2 hours is completely unacceptable and unprofessional, not to mention the lack of respect for my time on a Saturday afternoon. read more

I would not recommend going to this store for one of your first guns unless you've done you your research on these people and the guns they have/sell. The reason I say this is Bcuz I bought a "used" giarson regard mc and was told it was "basically brand new" but when I took it to the shooting range to test it the same day it was double feeding. So I did what any normal person would do and took it back to see if they could fix it if not refund me my $530.00 back. So they tested it and said they had no issues and it wasn't double feeding at all, they then told me they could give me $400.00 or I can take it home and try different ammo so I bought 4 different brand ammo. Double feeding again so few days later I took it back knowing that I did not want this gun bcuz it had a issue with it, i simply wanted the refund or a store credit. So after all that they told me the best they could give me was $350.00 even though they offered me $400.00 two days prior. After all that was said and done they refused to give me the refund so I was forced to take the $350.00 or deal with a handgun that double feeds. So I took a store credit of $350.00 and lost money. Moral of the story DO NOT PURCHASE YOUR GUNS FROM THIS STORE UNLESS YOU KNOW THE PEOPLE OT RESEARCHED THE GUN HEAVILY. If you see this handgun in their cases just know I owned it and it's crap and a ripoff. read more

I discovered the Gun Store through a fellow shooter at the range. They highly recommended the place so despite the long trip I visited. The store has a good stock of odds and ends to complete your build or fancy it up. There is a decent selection of body armor and reloading supplies. What was most impressive was the customer service. The people are quite knowledgeable about the various types of firearms they sell as well as some they don't have. Everyone I spoke with seems to have some degree of knowledge and aren't shy to say they don't know and recommend someone that knows. What is also nice is that the people don't treat you like you're a complete moron because you may not know as much as they do. A good firearm selection new and used as well as ammunition. Prices are not always the cheapest but certainly not the most expensive either. I recommend this place to anyone. Why not 5 stars? I would love to see more parts to build your own uppers I understand that overhead is an issue for places like this but this how I feel they could be better. Maybe I just visited on bad weeks after their stock was picked over? Great place nonetheless. read more

Bought a nice gun from them, so they deserve atleast a couple stars. That being said, I went there with the intent on purchasing an 'other'. I stood in front of them for 5 minutes before Finally asking the most miserable salesperson I have ever dealt with if he was busy. I explained to him why I was there and that I was relatively uneducated when it came to the AR's I was looking at. His only response, "they're all the same". That was literally ALL he said to me until I literally just said "screw it, I'll take that one I guess". He walked me to the counter, asked if I was paying cash,credit, or debit, which I paid debit, and apparently received some sort of discount for not using credit, which was nice, but I had to figure that out on my own. He never said a word about it. After paying he walks me in the paperwork room, tells me "sit there", puts my gun on the shelf and walks out. Not telling me what is happening next, not saying thank you for your business.....nothing. The girl I dealt with in the paperwork room was very professional and did an excellent job. That being said, how can someone like this still have a job there as I'm positive I'm not the first person he has treated in this fashion. Didn't get his name, but I'm sure whoever reads this from the business must know exactly who I'm talking about. Such a terrible attitude and miserable s.o.b. Which is too bad because I really wanted to like this place. Nothing like how you get treated at a place like Hoffmanns. Customer service goes a LONG way!!! read more
