Delicious chicken salad! Homemade and perfect. I also got a chocolate chip cookie that was awesome. Fun little place with great homemade food. Definitely recommend going in to eat or just grabbing stuff from the deli! read more

Very nice place and location, servers were so nice and helpful. We had the veg pizza with goat cheese, the best pizza we had ever!! The crust was nice and thin the way we like it. We will be back soon. read more

Tried this spot and I must say we really enjoyed it. It was Thursday night during dinner rush, and we didn't have to wait! Which is no reflection on the food! I had the cheeseburger and my husband had the chicken salad. Both delicious! The wait staff was incredibly friendly and helpful and after we ate, we popped into the delicatessen area just to check out the local groceries they offer. Highly recommended. Especially if you have an event downtown and don't want to deal with the small spots over in OTR! read more

This place is super cute and has a great beer selection. It's much bigger inside than it looks from the outside. There is a grocery section and a deli where you can order ahead. They even have a drive thru. read more

Okay if your in the area. Fun spot. Pizza is pretty terrible and resembles cardboard. Beer selection is good. Drinks outside and a snack kind of place. read more

I am in LOVE with their fried chicken sandwich and waffle fries. Has a great spicy slaw on it. The restaurant also has a deli counter and a shop. read more

Went with some girlfriends. Our waitress was very nice but service was slow and incorrect. The pickle fries were not good. The pizza was outstanding as were the sandwiches. But overall not impressed to come back. read more

I've only been here twice but so far it's been amazing! Service is very quick, and the food is delicious! I recommend the burger or the fried chicken sandwich. Both well-seasoned and juicy! read more

Only pizza after 10. Wanted pickle fries. Pizza was doey and undone but tasty. Cute inside. Right by river in Covington.

Never order from here via grubhub. No one communicates and both point the finger at each other for blame. I had to call to track down the issue and I received cold food - nice!! read more

We had such a great time after a long run with Queen City running group. The beers were really cold and the pizza was delicious! I plan on returning with my family! The patio was awesome and clean! read more

Great food and service. My wife and I loved the Capresse salad appetizer. My wedge salad worked great as a main course and my wife loved her egg salad sandwich. My wife and I each had our own ice cream sandwich for dessert. While they are large enough to split, they are so delicious that I would recommend getting your own. They also have a nice selection of local brews and the pizza looked great. Wish I lived closer I could go back more often! read more

My family and I have been here many times. We love the pickle fries with home made dill yogurt dipping sauce. The pizza is to die for and the prosecco is fabulous! Plus you can buy a bottle to take home later if you want! read more

Great food. Great service. I tried the pickle fries and fried chicken sandwich based on Yelp reviews. Both were delicious!

We held our rehearsal dinner at The Gruff this past weekend and I can't thank Kristin enough for accommodating our group! The service was fantastic and the food was, of course, exceptional. It made for the perfect evening to kick off a great weekend of celebration! Many thanks to you and all the staff! read more

The Gruff offers a laid back atmosphere, great beer selection and solid food choices. The Deviled Eggs are awesome. All the servers are quality but Nabil is top notch. read more

First time visit. We just had appetizers. I liked the fried pickles. The server seemed like a newbie and it took 10 minutes to get our drinks. This was in the afternoon and only 2 other people in bar but 4 employees standing around. Felt bad for server that her co-workers were not willing to assist with getting our drinks to the table. Seemed like a good place to walk to during the summer for a drink and appetizer. read more

I finally tried The Gruff and immediately regretted not going sooner. The interior is bright and I love having a view of the Roebling. I'd looked at the menu online before going and there were so many things I wanted. I decided on the pickle fries, chopped salad and the prosciutto and fig pizza. It was all delicious but the pizza was phenomenal. Can't wait to go back and try more. read more

Great little restaurant overlooking the beautiful Roebling bridge with good options for lunch or dinner. We had a pepperoni and bacon pizza and a wedge salad. It was all delicious. My husband even said it was the best pizza in the world lol. We will definitely be going back. read more

Great food and great view! I had their burger and waffle fries. Fantastic! Service is fantastic as well!

The pickle fries are perfection They have a great selection of local beers and tasty mixed drinks. Give this place a try. You won't regret it. read more

This is one of our favorite places to pop into when we are doing an urban hike exploring Cincy riverfront and Covington. The service is phenomenal! Everyone is super personable and they take a great deal of pride in the restaurant, which makes sense considering that it is family owned and ran. You know you are in a good place when you have staff that have been there from the start and who still gush about the restaurant. Okay, now on to the food and beer. The beer selection is excellent! You have lots of options from the taps and coolers. You can also purchase wine from the coolers in the retail section and drink it in house. The food was delicious. We only ever seem to get appetizers, but they are some of the best I have had. They source local and make just about everything in house. This time we had the deviled eggs and fried pickled red onions. Yum to both. The decor is pretty minimalistic, which I don't mind. The only negative is the seating is not that comfy, but that's nothing a cushion can't fix. We will definitely keep returning to this location and maybe sometime we will drive so we can have a full meal! read more

Wish I could have eaten the pizza I order b/c the piece of a friend's I tried was really good. The service had a lot to be desired here. 15 minutes after the rest of our party received their food 2 of us were waiting for ours. Clearly our item wasn't rung in...finally the sever checked on us, we told her to take the item off our bill, hoping to pay up & leave b/c the rest of our party was done eating. 20 minutes later the sever asked if we wanted our bill, really...that's kinda what we had been waiting on...to call it a day & go home in hopes to fill our bellies since we never got our order in the first place. Then about 15-20 mins later the server figured out our bill & we were set to go. the food looks really good here & the atmosphere was nice but the service missed the mark. read more

Second time here and both times great food. The Charcuterie is amazing, and must try the vegetarian pizza. Wow, cannot wait to try something new again next time. read more

It has a nice vibe and unique interior but the food is lacking. The gourmet deviled eggs were barely edible. The smoked chicken salad was ok but nothing special. Hopefully we just ordered the wrong food maybe pizza is the way to go. read more

FOOD is VERY GOOD. Service OK but only open 3 days. Will get better I am sure. Deli has good sandwiches made from very good ingredients. Grocery items_some fruit, cheese, organic eggs, pasta, sauces, soft drinks, alcohol, beer and a nice selection of wine. Would like to see more breads and maybe small pack of fish/chicken/beef. Will only get better and excited they came to our neighborhood. read more

Recently went for the second time to the gruff and both were great experiences. I would recommend the pizza and waffle fries. Almost all of what they sell is local! read more

This great new place in Covington offers really good pizza, sandwiches and lovely salads. On Friday they have the best fried Cod sandwich around (in my opinion). It is hand breaded, perfectly cooked, not greasy, served on a brioche bun, the house made tarter sauce is delicious. My husband and I like to carry out the Italian Meat Pizza and the beet salad. It is a perfect meal for two with some left for lunch the next day. I highly recommend The Gruff for its consistent food, home made approach and great items in the deli/grocery to take home. We have never had a place where we could pick up staples like eggs, milk, butter, beer, wine, liquor - and it is great to have this place in the neighborhood. read more

My wife and I went to The Gruff Friday night of All Star weekend. We sat at the bar and the bartender was great! Extremely courteous and helped with our beer choices as some were unfamiliar to us. We ordered a pizza and it was outstanding! The crust is the best I've had and ingredients seemed fresh. We liked it so much, we returned Saturday with friends and sat outside. The service was great and again, the pizza was amazing! It's a great place and the pizza is worth the trip! read more

Great food friendly folks. I just wish there was nutritional information for the menu items

Italian meat pizza, add goat cheese. The fried chicken sandwich with their black pepper sauce and waffle fries are good, too. (like Cane's) Great rotating beer selection. There is also a small market that sells bakery items, cold cuts, and packaged beer. read more

We were able to sit down right away. Server was attentive at first. My girlfriend got the turkey sandwich which she loved. It was huge!! It looked like a pound of turkey. I had the salmon sandwich it was good but I wouldn't order it again. It wasn't what I was expecting. I was expecting a salmon spreads it was pieces of raw salmon. $6 for a pint of beer is excessive. read more

Very good craft beer selection and the pizza is delicious! That being said, the menu is a bit limited, but the atmosphere is nice, especially if you have kids. read more

Good Sunday brunch. I got the fried chicken with the gravy, and egg. It was very good. I got a side of potatoes that were ok. Only thing keeping me from making this a 5 star review was that I ordered a Bloody Mary that had an olive with a pit in it. How about a warning? Nearly had a cracked tooth with that one. Can't say I've seen too many places put an olive with a pit inside a Bloody Mary. read more

Love the Gruff!!! Perfect place for family dining, Love the outdoor patio, amazing & uncomplicated food, very wonderful staff!!! Wish there was another location in East Cincy!!! read more

Great place....pizza was good...service was too....will definitely go back. Good vibe in the place.....encourage others to try it.

I was excited to hear about this place opening and then kind of forgot about it when I didn't hear much after. I don't know how this place is flying under the radar! I got the vegetarian pizza which was amazing and cooked to perfection, and my boyfriend got a bacon burger that was also delicious. The waitress was very bubly and friendly, and they had a good beer selection. Our only complaint was when we ordered a Manhattan it was in the wrong style glass with no garnish or rim. However, We soon got over it when our food came. I highly recommend trying this place out. read more

Pizza, hamburger and fried chicken sandwich are to die for!! The kids loved the local peach ice cream. We did the short walk over the Roebling suspension bridge from Smale Park. Perfect end to our day. My son thought the ice cream sandwich is as good as the ones in SF. read more

Came in on a Sunday afternoon for brunch. They were very busy. The food and service average.

We really wanted to love this place, but it was definitely lacking in a few areas. The menu sounds amazing but the execution was off. Also the service was just mediocre. Our waitress was taking a really long time and we were the only ones in there at the time. Not a bad place overall, but we won't be back. read more
