The Grove is pretty awesome! Friendly staff, they get you in and out so even if it looks like a long wait it moves fairly quick. I have been coming here on and off for the better part of two years and there are a couple of things that I have learned to be true about this place: First - If you are purchasing from the grove, know what you want and go in person. I have ordered for delivery perhaps 3 times. Every time they get it wrong and every time it gets worse. I've been to the store quite a number of times. They didn't go very well either, but I chalked those times up to having a bad day. Everyone has bad days. The very young employees don't really know that bad service is actually not acceptable. Here are a few of my favorites: He said it was very busy when I called, so the girls at the counter got confused. Because that's what happens, I guess, when girls come in contact with phones. They said I ordered a product that I did not and insinuated that I misspoke rather than owning up to just getting it wrong somehow. They suggested that I gave them the wrong name... AS IF I could forget my own name. And you read it on my driver's license. And you said it back to me. Damn. Second - If you don't know exactly what you want, you are going to have a Really-Weird Communication-Experience. That is putting it nicely. It's also true of whether you go in or order out. I cannot avoid serious personal insult in explaining that oddly-phrased statement, so I am not going to attempt it. Suffice it to say, if you do not heed my advice then you are literally asking for it. But hey, maybe you want it. Who am I to judge. I have been to a number of dispensaries over the years and this is, hands down, the worst one. They'll bizarrely offer apologies for any wait you may have had, which is completely uncontrollable, but sadly have none for everything else they can control. I remember one dispensary just off Miramar gave me a bath-bomb and a packet of sweets because they felt they had kept me waiting a bit too long. I tried to give them back because there had been no slight at all. They wouldn't hear of it and put them in the bag with my order. That's pretty magnificent on the service spectrum. Not many could live up to that and hope to stay in business, but the grove has really gone the other direction. I wouldn't have posted a review at all if this last incident had been the exception to the rule, but it confirmed my burgeoning suspicions with a big ol' frickin' bang!, so here we are. I am done. If you are a very casual smoker or just started, you'll love this place. If you've been smoking for a long time and have more preferences, you'll be disappointed here 9/10 times. Except for like 2 people, the bud tenders have no idea what they're talking about. If you have more specific preferences about what you smoke, stay away from here, or only come when Makonen is working. read more

Very friendly and knowledgeable team. I came in as a first-timer looking for some pain relief and sleep assistance. The staff was very friendly and helpful in helping me find the right balm and balance based on my previous experiences. They recommended a great product and the shop was clean, bright, easy to find, and not at all intimidating. This will be my local shop for future use, for sure. Happy to have them in the neighborhood. Note: They do require a prescription based on specific city/local laws, but they help you through the process and have made becoming a member quite painless. Suffered from chronic knee and back pain for more than a year. 600 to 800 mgs of ibuprofen no longer eased the pain. A few days ago I'd pulled my left hip. I felt it snap and a hot liquid pain shot from the top to my left buttocks down to the heel of my foot. Suffered with pain for more than 24hrs and was walking with a massive limp. The location was super easy to find. The pain and limping was still so bad that I had to walk in using a cane. Joe helped me through the beginning process and fielded my endless questions (having never experienced cannabis before, I had so many concerns). While walking me through the process, Joe listened to my symptoms and made a few recommendations on what to try. Joe even went to the back with me and recapped to Cindy what I needed and what my symptoms were, saving me the frustrations of having to retell my whole situation (we all hate when we have to do that with our medical providers, nurses and doctors, hahaha). I really appreciated his assistance. Cindy took care of helping me choose a product. I had even more questions for her! ...and she went above and beyond; she was informative and helpful with explaining the difference between the products. I decided on the CBD oil to treat my muscle pains. Started with the recommended 25 mg and noticed the affects of it after 15 minutes. Through the first hour my pain lessened and lessened. By the second and third hour, I'd noticed my hip felt completely better. Pain was tolerable. Fourth hour and I'm not only relaxed and feeling chill, but I'm up and walking around without my cane again! Highly recommend the location (plenty of parking), the staff are professional, courteous and knowledgeable and the product worked miracles on my chronic pain! I'm a believer! Living in the area I was hoping I found my go to dispensary. The staff here is excellent and very personable. The store is setup nicely and clean. Security is always on the premises and parking was not a problem. I have also visited a few other legal dispensaries in San Diego. I'm searching for my go to dispensary. Flower is dry and the girl that answers the phone on April 8th at 5:15 has no idea how to talk, I asked her about having any indica because everyone's been out and she kept cutting me off telling me to go on weedmaps and look for myself, she kept repeating herself and was a complete blieotch. My husband comes here. The customer service needs some help, they almost seem like you're inconveniencing them for being there. Mostly you have to know what you want or what you're looking for before coming in. It can get crowded and sometimes your talking over other people to let the employee's know what you want. The products are great, and he feels like they work. Only once did he feel like the strain was a little weak but he was able to go back and know he wanted one with more kick. SARAH at the front desk is rude, unprofessional, unapproachable, has poor customer service skill and lacks in communication skills. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY HERE. Came in with a friend and right away I should have known to walk right out. As we walked in, no one greeted us, but we figured to go to the window. The miss at the window didn't even acknowledge us. Then a guy turns around (who was in mid sentence with a customer) and asks if we are new. He said he'll be right with us. As we waited, Just hearing this gentleman "helping" the customer he was with, gave me another bad taste. He was super rude to the customer her. You can tell she felt very uncomfortable. She kept telling him she didn't know and needed help. He seamen's annoyed, grabbed someone else and told him to help her cause she had a lot of questions. He then comes to us, and asks to see ids. He said we need to get medical licenses. He says they have them and we can get them there. All of this is done in such an unprofessional matter. He doesn't introduce himself. Idk who he is. Doesn't tell us why we needed medical licenses (didn't realize it was a medical dispensary). It was all a hot mess. Just by seeing how this guy treated that poor woman, I'm good. I've been coming here a few years already. When I discovered this place, it was a hidden little gem. I loved going and I have sent so many people there. As time went on, the quality of employees went down. The staff is not as knowledgeable as they should. It's just about getting high. Not even about the benefits. Most of them look as if they are high on the job. Yes, I get it. It's a dispensary. But high and not knowing what they are selling is not a good combo. I went to this dispensary, that requires a recommend, because the website and the girl I talked to on the phone said that if you're an east county resident your recommend is free. I get there and because I've only been there once before they made me pay for the recommend! I pointed out that the website did not indicate any stipulations on getting the recommend. Came in to pick something up for my boyfriend because this is the dispensary he usually goes to and it was my first time coming in by myself. The front desk was exceptionally rude I'd rather deal with someone at the dmv to put it into perspective and this is coming from someone who works front desk. There are definitely bad days but never bad enough to be as unwelcoming and ill-mannered as this girl was. The only good thing about this dispensary is their wide variety of product but you can honestly get that 2 minutes away at Hot Box or Cookies with much better customer service for the same price.
