Had dinner here this evening and will definitely return again. The service was exactly on point. It's a nice pleasant small italian restaurant with a good menu of both food and wine. I enjoyed my shrimp picatta over zucchini spaghetti, was great. There was also veal marsala which was also apparently very good. I went to visit this location based on The Treasure Coast Foodie recommendations as it was over an hour drive and had many awards. The location and decor is very nice. The service was rather slow but in their defense they had a private event the night we went .The meal started off with garlic knots that had very little flavor of garlic and were very dense with a doughy inside. At first I ordered the chicken piccata with zucchini noodles ($5 up charge for the zucchini noodle vs pasta) but it was way too lemony and the sauce was very soupy/brothy vs thick with a very small portion of the zucchini noodles. I then tried the low carb lemon basil dish that was recommended as less lemony and it was just as bitter as the first dish with the same overpowering lemon base of soupy sauce so I sent tried to just get meatballs but unfortunately these were less than desirable also. I have rarely ever sent back food in my life but these meals were not edible. The owner came to personally apologize telling us those are there three best dishes that people drive hours for and gave us a coupon valid with purchase to return. We also were given free chocolate mousse to split that unfortunately was also very underwhelming as well and it was odd they had no cannolis or other desserts that night -the only real italian dessert on the menu on a weekend night was tiramisu ..I really hoped it would be great it just wasn't . read more

Everything was fantastic! We heard about this place from the Jupiter food & wine festival, so we decided to give it a try. They recently started advertising lunch, so we popped in the middle of the day. The ambiance was very inviting, very relaxing, loved the little wine tables across from the bar. The owner Jen was so incredibly friendly and fun to talk to. Since she's a sommelier, we shared our love of wine and food. The head chef also came out and said hello. She made some incredible recommendations for lunch options and then told us about the wine tasting events they have. Also, apparently Friday jazz sessions they are starting. (You had me at hello!) I can't say enough great things about this adorable place. I could easily stay here for hours and we can't wait to come back. I love that they change their menu often too. ALSO, they have won tons of wine spectator awards for their wine menu, so if you're into wine, this place is your spot! Oh My Lord (OML)! This is a FANTASTIC and AUTHENTIC ITALIAN restaurant hidden in plain site in Hobe Sound, Florida just off US 1! While I want to be selfish and not share this amazing find, the FOOD, SERVICE, ATMOSPHERE and PRICES were SPECTACULAR! In all honesty, FIVE STARS is an under-rated score for The Grove Cucina & Wine. For a Wednesday date night, my Italian wife wanted real Italian food and not some reheated, non-freshly made pasta and ordinary appetizers or salads. She searched high and low between Jensen Beach, and Fort Pierce to the North, and Palm Beach and Jupiter to our South. If a restaurant doesn't average 4.5 stars, we simply don't visit them. And there on Hobe Sound in an old fashion strip center sat The Grove Cucina & Wine. From the road, we couldn't tell if this would be a great find. But walking up to the front doors, and the WONDERFUL smell of HOME COOKING overtakes you senses! Once inside, the quaintness of this two sided restaurant with a full service bar and plenty of seats on the left side is offset by a second dining area that reminded us of the small family eateries in Venice, Rome, Firenze and Calabrian, Italy. Yes, this was shaping up to be the REAL DEAL! We started with an Primi appetizer of Peaches and Burrata drizzled with fine Balsamic glaze. Unique and VERY TASTY as the peaches were perfectly ripe and the Burrata freshly made and slightly warm. We also ordered fresh FOCACCIA BREAD that was so good! It had crispy crust and spongy soft interior that welcomed the olive oil and drizzle from our appetizer. Next up was the Insalata. For every meal, we always have salad. So we didn't want a normal side salad, garden salad or Caesar's salad. CODY, our AMAZING SERVER, suggested the Citrus Mint Mediterranean Salad, and one upped himself by saying we should split it with my wife topping hers with goat cheese and mine topped with Gorgonzola (blue) cheese. No words can explain just how much salad we were served and how DELICIOUSO it was! We both had plenty left over for a full salad each for lunch the next day! Cody also suggested a new white wine that The Grove recently discovered. My wife went all in and absolutely feel in love with the SANCERRE by Cirotte Vineyards in France. How much so? We bought a bottle to take home until we can go back on Friday for Live Jazz and/or Italian Cooking classes! As we finished our Focaccia bread, we decided to order another loaf to go. Yes, it is that fresh and so g o o d!!! Then dinner arrived. My wife had The Grove Classic of CHICKEN PICCATA with fresh mushrooms and homemade Angel Hair pasta. I swooped in for a taste and nearly switched plates with her after one small bite! I, in turn, had the MEDITERRANEAN MEDLEY with ZUCCHINI NOODLES and Chicken. I challenge you to find a better pasta dish anywhere in the United States than the love and compassion that CHEF NICK and CHEF CO-FOUNDER LUIS REYNERI mixed into my dish! Talk about tasty! The fresh artichokes with basil and those Zucchini Noodles were simply to die for! And guess what? We both had full portions left over so we can easily reheat and enjoy again tomorrow or the next day! CODY made sure to box and bag everything up beautifully! These are the reasons a FIVE-STAR RATING is nowhere good enough to describe THE GROVE in HOBE SOUND, FLORIDA. But we ventured on to dessert and fresh coffee. Because we were one of the last tables being served tonight, our first choice of fresh TIRAMISU was sold out. But the table behind us was enjoying it and told us it was worth their trip from London, England just for The Grove's desserts. So we chose the LEMON CRÈME BRÛLÉE and WOW! WERE WE IMPRESSED! It was silky smooth, creamy and top coated with the lemon sugar to PERFECTION! Look, I could go on and on about THIS EXTRAORDINARILY GREAT SECRET ITALIAN RESTAURANT. Had dinner there last night with my husband and cousins visiting from NJ. It is a lovely place, nicely decorated and clean. The staff was so friendly and accommodating! The food was delicious. I had chicken piccata over pasta with a lemony spinach sauce. I had to stop myself from licking my plate. My husband ordered the rigatoni with sausage and broccoli rabe. Fabulous! One cousin ordered the bolognese sauce which is made with lamb and beef. She cleaned her plate! My other cousin ordered chicken Marsala. He also loved it. The aperol spritz were wonderful! I highly recommend this restaurant! One of the best things was the portion size. Just enough to fill you up with no leftovers. Very European in that aspect. Incredible food offerings, wonderful staff and owners. It captures what I want in an Italian restaurant, bright and complex flavors in a warm atmosphere. In addition to some perfectly done favorites (we love their pizzas and pappardelle bolognese) don't sleep on their cauliflower or especially their Brussels sprouts and burrata if it's available. We thought both were outstanding. It is located in a nondescript strip mall but I felt they still managed to pull off a warm and friendly atmosphere. This is worth the drive!!! We had a delightful dinner at this small restaurant with a big wine list. First, the owners are fabulous and speak to every table. Second, the atmostphere is just right. The art on the walls keeps you guessing about where in Italy these paintings represent, and the music is the right amount of slow and sweet. And then....the FOOD! Wow!! Our food could not have been better. We shared the bolognese with lamb. It was wonderful. The pasta was so fresh and the sauce delicious. My husband had a half portion of the beet salad first. I am not a fan of beets but this was so beautifully presented and he ate every bite. Then he had the Veal Milanese and said it was easily the best veal he has ever had. I had the fettucine alfredo with chicken, and it was very tasty. The pasta (again) was fresh and cooked perfectly. The sauce was (again) delicious, and they used exactly the right amount of sauce. And then there was dessert! The chocolate mousse was PERFECT! It was supremely chocolatey and very rich, but not overly so. The texture was light and fluffy and fabulous. I had to get it to go, so I got to savor it later, and I'm really glad I didn't skip it. You'll be too full after you eat, so get it to go. (You're welcome! I know you'll thank me for this!) This was wonderful we drove about 50 minutes on a recommendation and it was well worth it. We love a family owed business, we had the pleasure of meeting the husband and wife team owners who were just fantastic. My son created a family style meal for the my husband's birthday dinner. We started with a Caesar salad, fresh garlic rolls and also cheese pizzas. The pizza was hot delicious the crust was nice thin and crispy, The dressing on the Caesar salad was fresh and delicious. The next course was homemade lasagna and chicken à la vodka pasta, both dishes were absolutely amazing and delicious and you could taste the freshness of the made from scratch flavors. Next for dessert came powdered zeppole's , light and airy. All in all it was a fantastic evening there were 19 of us, the service was absolutely five star, wonderful experience, will go back it was so much fun. read more

3.5 but putting as 3 for a a few reasons. Came on a Saturday night. It's in a strip mall with outdoor seating. The restaurant was generally empty. There are two rooms, one (which we didn't see) seemed to have 2 or 3 tables eating. The front room, which we were placed in, was just us. Not sure if that was good or bad. Why didn't we make it to the back room??? :) First, the people are wonderful. All very nice. We had 3 different people keep coming (some w same questions), and then Manager promoting events they have. Perhaps the latter could have been not while eating, but in between or after. The dishes looked great, but we were there for pizza, wine, and salad. We ordered a 'Mediterranean' salad. =Greek Salad. $19. Ouch (it gets worse). My wife stated we were splitting salad, pizza, etc. So out comes the salad on two small plates. Fast forward to the bill. $5!!!! split charge. I just paid $24 for lettuce, a few olives, and some feta and tomatoes. We did not ask for this, not was told. Ordered a pizza. Cheese with 3 $2 toppings. It was very good. Finished our meal and got the bill. This is where we saw the salad split charge, and then a $1 business relief fund which i've never seen before just added. These are the types of things that take a nice evening down a notch or two. read more

Hobe Sound - So we recently visited this restaurant for dinner located on a nondescript strip mall. The staff and owners are gregarious and quite welcoming. Pros: The food was delicious and very well prepared and presented. Portions were generous. Decent wine list. Service attentive, friendly and efficient. Some outside tables available. Convenient parking. Cons: When asked if we would like soup or salad with our entrees, we learned of the additional charge when bill arrived. "If the servers asks", then server should advise guests such accompaniments are additional and not included with entrees. Same goes for their bread baked in-house. Very good by the way. But an additional charge on that, which is acceptable IF we had been advised up front. Also, we learned of an additional "small business fee" automatically imposed per bill when each bill arrived as well. Please....Seriously? So overall, a good restaurant serving very good food. After a night of sleeping with lead lasagna in my stomach, I decided to change my rating to a one. Tonight's dinner was a disappointment. My wife and I both ordered the lasagna. It was not at all like the first time I had it. Tasted like a dish right out of the freezer, warmed up with some sauce spooned over it. The noodles were gummy, the sauce was just o.k. this time, not like the sauce I remembered from the first time I had this dish. But, the coup de grace were two glasses of wine each with what clearly looked like a half pour (about 2 oz. each) for $25.00 or $12.50/oz. each. That was the deal breaker. I usually don't order wine, although my wife does sometimes. So, frankly, I didn't pay much attention to the skimpy pour until the bill came. Felt like we were ripped off. We had such a lovely evening at The Grove last night! The Aperol spritzes were perfect to start things off. I was really impressed by the service from our waiter, Luke. They were patient with us and so helpful with menu choices (even allowing us to taste sauces when my friend was indecisive). They went above and beyond! We tried the creamy ricotta appetizer with the focaccia. YUM!! The garlic knots are out of this world! I had a pasta special that was DELICIOUS, and the portion size will allow me at least one more meal. We tasted a couple wines with the help of the very knowledgable owners. We came to this family owned restaurant to celebrate my birthday, by a referral from our good friends who now live in Stuart and were with us. We had 7 in our party and were waited on by Makani, the son of Louis the owner, he did a fantastic job serving us. I had a beet salad with goat cheese balls that were fried, with greens and walnuts, and it was delicious! I then had the Lamb Bolognese with pappardelle pasta, it was a creamy sauce that was delicious, others loved their meals, Chicken Marsala, Chicken Parmigiana and Beef Bolognese! Here is a place that has some very good pizza. It has a cool vibe and the service is awesome, as well. I am originally from New Jersey and grew up with great pizza pretty much on every corner. When I moved down here to the Sunshine State of Florida, I was both surprised and dismayed to discover that good pizza was not only not on every corner, but not even in every town or city. So it is always a great discovery stumbling across these places that offer a good pizza. I definitely recommend here. read more

Best Italian restaurant in area. Omg. Where do I start. From the owner greeting you at the door to the server giving the history of the family restaurant. The waiter, Chad gave us a great reception, and started us out with the best garlic rolls we have ever had. Had the most decadent calamari that just melted in your mouth for our appetizer. The marinara sauce is absolutely to die for. Wifey ordered the spaghetti and meat balls. She said the meatballs were the best she's ever eaten. I went for the chicken Parm. I just want to say that the chicken was the most tender I've ever had. The Wine list is outstanding here. Prices were reasonable and the service is outstanding. Anybody who knows me knows I love food, knows I love passion, knows I love wine and knows I love local small businesses. Last night, the culinary Gods led us to The Grove in Hobe Sound. They wrapped up all my restaurant loves in one very cool little package that was a refreshing and marvelous dining experience. I can assure you I will be going again, and again, and again, and if you have any sense you will too. The unassuming strip center location on the corner of Bridge Road and US1 is one special place that deserves your attention. The proprietors, Jen and Luis (that's them in the picture), are masters at making you feel welcome and part of the family. Theirs isn't a canned act, it's the real deal and their passion is infectious. Their entire staff are just as real. Make a reservation, eat outside, eat inside, but go. Somehow, I ended up with one of their amazing pizzas as a starter. It was my third night in a row that a pie was put in front of me. It was stunningly delicious. The sauce made with love. Luis brought over some of their garlic knots, I enjoyed their Chef's Featured Scallops and their Lamb Bolognese. Wow. Chef Ian is amazingly talented and this Johnson and Wales Culinary School graduate will make your tastebuds dance. Luis is a master when it comes to wine, a hard working marvelous soul and an immigrant from Cuba who knows America is the bomb diggity. Five course wine dinners, wine classes, an amazing selection of well priced wines for you to take home. Go. Experience. Love. Service was great, extremely polite and attentive. We started with the fried calamari with peppers as our appetizer, it had light breading and was cooked perfectly. The meatballs were absolutely fabulous! Definitely order those!! We got cheese pizza and chicken parm as our meals. The chicken parm was a very good size and OUTSTANDING!
