Honestly, super impressive for a hospital cafeteria. Kudos to the kitchen staff! They have several stations (salad bar, pizza, grill, etc.), so there's pretty much something for everyone, even the chicken-tenders-only crowd. I tried a bit of everything and it was all solid. Prices are noticeably lower than standard market rates. Definitely grateful to have a good option when spending time at the hospital. read more

The area was generally dirty and looks like it had not been disinfected or cleaned in Al least a day if not more. Floors were dirty, drink /coffee area dirty, and I had to wipe off the table and bench where I seat because it had dried food on it and was sticky. Not what you'd expect in a hospital. read more

The Gove Cafe is pretty awesome! I was pretty surprised at the menu options there. There are quite a variety of food you get get there that I'm sure will satisfy your palate for the that day. I've seen chicken bowl, ahi tuna bowl, you have pizza there as well, plenty of side selections like fries and what not, salad options, pasta options, and a bottled beverages section. The food there is pretty cheap! I got a chicken bowl there that has beans, chicken, guac, rice, salsa, corn, and bell peppers for $5.49 and it was delicious! My husband really enjoyed the ahi tuna bowl that was refreshing and filling. The quality of food there is great and it's prepared right in front of you. For staff, docs, nurses, they can order their food there and then pay, and for visitors like myself or patients, you mainly pay first for what you want to order and then wait for your food to be called out. It is not easy to have a family member in the hospital. Thankfully, Clovis Community Hospital has a good restaurant and very affordable. The employees are very nice and friendly. I wanted to warm up leftovers I had purchased for their lunch menu. They don't have a microwave but a nice cook took it to the back and used the staff microwave! I later found a microwave in another small restaurant in the hospital. The soup, fish, fries, pizza, quesadillas...everything is delicious. read more

For hospital food, they provide pretty good tasting food. The service is good, but not stellar. You do meet a few deliverers you can't help but conversate with for a while me. I haven't been downstairs to see what the ambiance is inside, but I've heard it's a really nice place. The food can be a hit or miss. Not everything on the menu tastes great. Unlike the unfriendly experience we encountered with another cashier "Sophia" never gave us a receipt, she actually tossed it, until I asked for receipt, she gave us a " duplicate receipt " Thank you Peter ! You deserve recognition, Praise & a Raise . Folks come to hospital dinning only because family members are hospitalized. And we don't have to be far in case something should happen to family member. Definitely a different experience, but they have a ton of different foods to get and many different food stations. From a salad bar to area where you order cooked foods to a deli area where you order sandwiches to sweets and pre made choices. I was hungry so I got a bunch, but enough for dinner, snacks and sharing. Ordered the Cajun turkey wrap. No aioli. Extra jalapeños. It was ready quickly. Also chose the chefs salad. Looked really good! Also chose soy chocolate milk, peanut butter and an oatmeal cookie and sashimi dragon roll. The cafe was clean and organized. A lot of people. Checked out at the register and left. The Cajun turkey wrap was really good. Heated it up in the microwave. Cheese melted. Tasty. Fresh ingredients. The chef's salad was really good too! Everything in it was fresh and delicious! Great salad with the egg, ham and turkey. The cookies were amazing! Heated them made them even better! I had breakfast veggie omelet and potatoes one day, the grilled cheese sandwich with mushroom and onions is delicious. I did not care for the biscuits and gravy. I just didnt find the flavor good. Pancakes and French toast were good as well. Fresh pizzas made in brick oven look amazing, the grilled chicken burger is delicious and their french fries are the best a light crisp on the outside. For 2 weeks of staying and visoting here the food was pretty good. Legendary Nuff said. It's the best hospital cafeteria in all of Fresno, dare I say all of central California. Let alone it's the best that I've ever been to. The food selection is pretty incredible and I he wouldn't think it's from a hospital. They have a grill, a pizza, oven, and entrees like tri tip and salmon and more. And all the dishes are seasoned with skilled expertise. The prices. You can't beat. I honestly go there when I'm not working just to eat there. $4 for a fresh omelet? Come on, get out of here. It's just that good. The staff. Always friendly, always polite, always so helpful and make your food in a fast and efficient manner. Nothing is served cold there (aside from the sandwich bar, which is way better than deli delicious hands down). The pizzas are actually really good and baked in a pizza oven! A pizza oven in a hospital! What more do I need to say? This section is for all the nay sayers: Take your basic pallet and go somewhere else! Actually, go eat at CRMC's cafeteria (nothing on the food staff there) but their food is no comparison to what Clovis has. So, take your monster drinks and grilled fake cheese sandwich orders elsewhere. This place goes above and beyond what I've ever experienced and I hope that this place gets the credit it rightfully deserves. By the way, they served prime rib for the holidays and nurses week. So I thought that it was strange that all of these reviews were interesting because really- this is a "cafe" in a hospital. How good could it really be? Well I am eating my words now. I came here when I was waiting for the arrival of my new niece and we were starving. I had read the reviews and was really interested in the pizza, plus they have superior dairy ice cream. I got the build your own pizza, which was only 3.99, and I was so excited to see they had a real pizza oven. Let me tell you, that was the best pizza!! It had a nice crispy crust, a good amount of toppings, and was very filling. They also have a variety of other foods, which is nice, and lots of coffee and desserts! Today I chose to eat the Grillery special, the Carne Asada steak taco. I just say it's the first time I've ever been dissatisfied with something I've received here. The steak was too salty and there were too many fatty tough portions to chew in it. I ordered two and asked if they could put it on the same plate & they said "No"...? Ummmm why the heck NOT?! I'm here because a relative is in ICU for an illness and I needed to grab something to eat. Not a fan of the ordering system. You grab an order form and check what you want then place the form in a basket on top of every one else's and then you wait and by the stack of orders it looked like I was going to wait awhile. Being impatient, I didn't feel like waiting and wondering when my order would be next so I grabbed my form back out of the basket and went for the pre-made salad and got a bowl of soup. I'm sure it would be much better if you don't go during regular meal times when there's so many people. The Chinese chicken salad and creamed corn soup were okay. Prices not too terribly inflated for a hospital. I "think" (I say, "I think" because going to a hospital isn't my first choice of places to eat) - I think prices were more reasonable than some of the hospitals in Sacramento. The food is great (wood-fired pizzas, burgers to order, quinoa in the salad bar, excellent assortment of pre-packaged and fresh sandwiches and salads), the prices are low (under $3.00 for my caesar chicken salad wrap), and the people are friendly. And the dining area is both modern and comfy. If it weren't for the staffers in their scrubs eating at nearby tables, one could almost forget we were dining in a hospital. Ok. So many of my friends are not too fond of hospitals or even the food BUT GUESS WHO IS?!! THIS GAL! Lol long ago i made a funny and that was towards my significant other. When he asked "where shall we go for date night?" I asked for the Grove Cafe. "You know that's inside the hospital right?" Yeaaa so? I LOVE THE FOOD HERE! Long story short we didn't go, i fell asleep. Anywho! Promise you this is one ofmy favorite places to eat, better than some restaurants in Fresno LOL. Very affordable THANK YOU! I mean especially when we have a medical bill to pay for! I initially wanted the bbq pork tenderloin but it was sold out. So i opted for a burger. Per usual BOMB. The pizzas are super delectable also! I would definitely steer clear of the double season shredded chicken. For me it was just utterly dry. Jell-o meeeeee. The seaweed salad is delicious also. Can't believe I'm writing a review for a hospital cafe... but here goes: We LOVE this place. I read about it in the paper and finally got around to trying out this place a few months ago and we've been back several times since. It's a great place to bring the family, especially if you have picky eaters, as everyone can get whatever they want. It's not the fastest place, as we've typically had to wait 15-20 min. for our orders to be filled, but what do you expect when your food is prepared right in front of you? My little one (and I) love the pizzas. The crust is hand made, the ingredients are fresh, and its all cooked in a real wood-fire pizza oven. Best of all is the price: each pizza is only $3.50. And while it's technically a personal pizza, the workers there are pretty generous with the toppings and it's enough for me and my 6-y.o. to split (and gives me room to get a salad or soup). Speaking of... I'm also a big fan of their soups. Every single soup I've tried (2 different soups/day) has been delicious, though I have to say that their seafood chowder is my hands-down favorite. But the New England clam chowder, Manhattan style clam chowder, and creamy tomato bisque have all been excellent, too. You can tell that someone is making these soups fresh every day -- no can openers here. And also cheap: $1.59 for small and $1.99 for large (which really isn't that much bigger than the small, FYI). The salad bar, while not enormous, is surprisingly complete. I love the selection (which includes edamame, tofu, and chicken as proteins) and there are a few prepared salad options that are also quite good. Salads are around $3.50 for all you can stuff onto a plate (or into a to-go container). I haven't not personally tried the hamburger and fries, but my hubby usually gets it and seems to enjoy it, as he usually has wolfed down the entire thing by the time I even sit down (as I said, the pizza takes at least 15-20 min to bake -- and he eats everything in 5 min. flat). We can easily get away with spending less than $20 for our family of 4 (sometimes 5) AND usually even have leftover pizza. Where else can everyone be happy and full for this price? read more

Far and away the best hospital cafeteria I've ever experienced. They'll build an omelette, make a sandwich, cook a fresh pizza, and there's a great salad bar. If you're in a hurry there are also plenty of things for grab and go. That comes in handy because when they're busy there can be a bit of a wait. I got to try just about everything from the grove cafe due to a four day stay at hospital. By far my favorite is the PIZZA! I've been coming here for the past couple of weeks since a few of my coworkers raved about it. Apparently a lot of people come here on their lunch breaks. The food is very inexpensive (I'm talking about $4 for a good meal) and delicious. They have a salad bar, personal pizzas, grilled sandwiches, deli sandwiches, full lunches/dinners which are different every day, they have baked goods and so much more. I don't think I've spent more than $5 at once here. They have $1.48 refillable large coffee! The grilled cheeses are so good! So are the pizzas. I also recommend the French toast is you can make it early enough for breakfast which they serve from 6:30am-10:00am. The only negative thing about this place is that it take a long time to get your food. You place your order and then the food is made in front of you. If your in a rush use the Tapingo app to place your order before getting there. I'll definitely keep coming here! read more

This is my 1st eating experience at the Grove Cafe on 10-1-2015 at 3:30pm. It was my late lunch so I ordered me a yummy fresh baked custom pizza. I chose 4 toppings of Canadian Bacon, Pineapple, Onion & Mushroom. I'm not a pizza fan, but I gave 4 stars to this one. I was so impressed myself that I ate it up with 15 mins. Been here a few times and while I haven't had much to complain about in the passed, I'd have to say the breakfast customer service was poor this morning (2/4/2019). Fill out a form and place your order where? Employees do not greet or give any instructions as to where to place orders. When I asked if I place my filled order form in the red basket, I was told I can do that and they'll get to it when ever they get to it. Orders go by and I'm standing without my food. Cooks behind the counter do not acknowledge and go their business with cleaning the grill. I'm sure there's frustration on their part because of the influx of breakfast orders, but I'd have to say their lack of customer service was dissatisfying.
