It's a market/store and you order your food at the front then sit down at your table of choice with a number. Sometimes you really want a hearty yet also light breakfast. And while that may seem like a conundrum for most, I feel like we found the perfect balance at The Grocers Table! The space itself is so open and full of light, we spent a few minutes perusing their in house goods and fun little food-related gifts and gadgets. For food, we all had a hard time picking a meal, but I went with the hot smoked salmon toast. It was whipped chive cream cheese, red onion, cucumber, capers, lemon oil and herbs on caraway onion rye and it was delish! It filled me up but I didn't feel bloated or too full! I also had a glass of fresh grapefruit juice and I was not disappointed My friends got the quiche of the day and the sunny smoked salmon sandwich and I got to try a bite of both. AMAZING. Loved my 1st trip here. It's a beautiful coffee shop/cafe/market. Reminded me a little of LynHall in Uptown. Currently they are not doing in room dining for dinner but lunch only. It is self serve, but a hosts seats you based on capacity and social distancing. You are able to book a reservation for parties of 4-6 for a bigger table and a server. It feels like one of those places you want to enjoy a Saturday brunch at. It's a very pretty setting, nice bakery display case, and good cafe options like pancakes, sandwiches, or pizzas. No idea how it took me a full year from their opening date to visit the Grocer's Table. This place is right down my ally - great food, beautiful drinks, cutest market, a nice service. I visited on a hot summer night with a good friend and sat in a cute little secluded spot by the side door. She ordered the Crispy Chicken Sandwich with a sweet cucumber slaw, MN comeback sauce with a Nashville kiss on ciabatta. WOW was the ciabatta amazing, the crunch of the chicken ideal, and the sauce was perfectly spicy. I ordered the Pasta of the Moment which featured Pappardelle with pork and a red sauce. It was totally out of my comfort zone, but I had seen the photos of their pastas and it looked to die for - and it was! Our server was quite pleasant and attentive, quick, and smiley. The Grocer's Table will certainly be my first choice of restaurants in Wayzata next time I'm meeting a friend out this way! read more

This place is adorable and everything we ate was delicious! I love the farm to table menu and little market offerings. Our service was good, but food did take a while to come out. We had the pork chop 10/10 and the lobster and crab linguine 9/10. The food and drinks were pricey but that is expected in this area. I will definitely be back for charcuterie and wine soon! My taste buds have come alive again with a serving of the Squash Salad with a combination of squash, thinly sliced apples, seeds and cranberries and the most unique combination of spices I have ever tasted. Meeting some new friends here and trying this place for the first time combined into an unforgettable experience. We bought a lemon cookie that we all shared that was absolutely the best I've ever had. I was going to get a chocolate cookie but they looked so big my wife and decided to share, Superlatives are not adequate enough to describe this entire experience. It's a chill place that is almost always crowded. By far the best "coffee" shop in Wayzata. The problems I have are is like everything in Wayzata, extremely over priced. 3.75 for a black coffee without a refill... sorry I know it's 2024 but it seems absurd. Food is good, vibe is good, but just expensive and crowded. If you want to work, no free WiFi which is a bummer but I get why they don't do it. read more

Cute decor inside and they have patio seating for outside as well. For the food. We got: The bruschetta which was pretty good, came with 3 pieces that you can easily cut into half and make 6. The tuna tostada I didn't try this because it had lettuce (which I despise) and could not cut this in half so it was all or nothing. The wings these were good but soooooo sticky and very sweet (they need to give wet wipes for your hands with this one). Good on flavor but maybe a little too sweet and lacking in actual spice. The kale salad with salmon. Ok I love kale salads but this one was a little strange and fell flat on flavor, not to mention the salmon came cold and broken up into pieces, not a fan. I also got "the resort" to drink which was too sweet for me. I generally gravitate toward any drinks with passion fruit since they are usually tart/tangy and not so sweet but that wasn't the case here. The staff was pretty attentive and quick so no complaints there, but overall a little overpriced for what you get. Oh and lastly, parking was pretty tough here as well and I had to stalk someone leaving to grab their spot, seems like this area is pretty popular in the summertime tho. read more

We stopped in on a whim for a light dinner and drinks. There were a lot of empty tables but we were seated outside in the backend of the restaurant by the parking lot. It was still fine but kind of strange we didn't get better seating when there were "better" tables available. Service was ok - felt like the server was a little pretentious and forgot that we had ordered extra bread for our charcuterie board (there always seems to be an unbalanced ratio of bread) - which he made sure to tell us that we had to pay extra for. Service was a little slow but we did enjoy some great cocktails and wine. Some of the things we ordered was steak frites, ahi tuna tacos (delicious), charcuterie board, crispy chicken sandwich ($5 extra if you wanted fries with it!!!) and the Bita sandwich. I loved the European atmosphere of the restaurant and could have spent some more time looking at all of the interesting foodie gifts! I would eat here again - albeit a little overpriced. read more

I've been a regular at The Grocers Table for about 2 years now. I just love the welcoming environment on top of the really good food. I always get a salad or a margarita pizza. The snow crab and soft scrambled egg toast was just pure joy. This happened about a month ago but I did feel a little awkward walking in with a mask on as the majority of people did not have one. A friend I was with immediately walked out the door. We are both from CA and although vaccinated have seen the ravages of this new COVID variant a little sooner than the middle of the country. That being said I heard the vaccination rates for this county are particularly high so I didn't feel nervous. Everything was clean and manicured. The staff was kind and quick. I found nice aged cheeses and, for whatever reason, harissa flavored everything. The area around it is beautiful. You right next to the lake which as someone that has only lived close to the water, it does look like an ocean. We sat on some benches and enjoyed the view while eating our breakfast. I hope this place stays open for as long as possible as I rarely get out to MN but would like to go back. read more

So good, in fact, I ate here for breakfast, lunch, and dinner all 4 days of my work trip! I wish The Grocers Table valued people's time as much as they do peoples wallets with their prices! Standing in line 20 min behind a bunch of people who don't pay attention to them needing to look at the menu while only one register is being used during peak lunch rush is just ridiculous. It took forever before there were two people ringing up. I was just ordering to-go food. The 3 salad sampler from the deli case. Another 15 min to get a text that it was ready. I was informed though, the salad sampler wasn't available for take out but they would put it in 3 small containers. I was fine with that because I would use a real plate to enjoy my lunch anyways. What the girl was trying to say but failed to leave out is that instead of being charged the $17 like the menu states, it would be charged per item and that came to a total of $23. It wasn't worth it. I want to be able to recommend this place so bad because it could be so much greater than it is. But, I have a hard time doing that and just can't do that yet. read more

Wow! What a beautiful space in Wayzata, MN! It is bright, clean, and also has a beautiful patio space outside. Beat & Feta Hummus- this hummus tasted a lot like ...hummus. I love beats, so I wouldn't mind more of the earthy flavor but it made for a beautiful woman color & it was still super good. The pita chips were crispy, crunchy, and flavorful! I got the Soft Shell Crab Sandwhich per our wonderful Bartenders recommendation. It was delish! Between the bun is cornmeal crusted soft Shell Crab, butter lettuce, tomato, red onion, and remoulade. It was great. It was a dinner special , so they likely won't have it regularly but I do hope they make it again. I had a few shrub cocktails which were tasty. We recently did brunch here and really enjoyed our meal. It is a lovely space a half block from the lake and we were lucky to snag a parking spot across the street on a bustling Friday morning. It was quite full but we quickly found a table for two - they suggest finding a table and then ordering, but if you do so, someone has to stay at the table while someone else goes up to order, so the set up is a little awkward. It has a very "Wayzata" feel - IYKYK! I'm an OG Edina girl so I think if you are a Minnesotan you will know what I mean... That being said, the food was tasty and filling, so the price tag was not as inflated as you might otherwise think. I had the breakfast burrito, which was delicious, though I would have liked a little more variety/spice. They did have hot sauce available, including one that was truly hot (hubby learned his lesson in not reading the label carefully!). I would definitely go here again if I was in the area. They have a large space adjacent to the cafe that looks like a high-end event space complete with bar. There is a variety of seating options from tables and bar seats to high top tables and seats with a view of the street. read more

Amazing spot for brunch or lunch! Extremely relaxed environment as you order at a counter and they bring your food out. The ambiance both inside and on the patio is fun and the aesthetics are adorable. Inside they have cute items and pantry items available for additional purchase. I highly recommend the eggs Benedict, delicious! Additionally, at the coffee bar I ordered the miel coffee. I think this may have been one of my favorite coffee items I've ever had. Wrote a pair of reviews in 2021, all optimistic that -- with some simple work on staffing issues and (more importantly) staffing logistics and training -- this place could be great. They haven't and it isn't. It's a pretty place. The food is good. The coffee is meh but with the loss of Bellecour and (apparently) Penny's, the closest good coffee shop is Jones and that's way out in the awkward Ridgedale gov't building spot. Wayzata's food scene dipped in the pandemic, to the benefit of spots like Grocer's Table which is above average. It's clear that a *LOT* of money has been thrown at this restaurant. The restaurant is Instagram-pretty and Shea architects was hired at one point to design it. Why not spend some of the money and effort on improving staffing? Why is it always a mess here? What set Bellecour (RIP) and it's related restaurants and cafes apart wasn't merely food, but commitment to the concept of hospitality; I'll give Macanda credit for following that model in Wayzata. Throwing a bunch of employees into the mix without training them on customer experience is a glaring (but very correctable) problem. The answer after all this time is they simply don't care... I'll summarize as I have since October 2021: This place still has the potential to be great. They just need to understand the patron experience and train the staff. I hope to one day update this rating. The 3* are an average weighed down by service. Money can only buy so much. read more

This place is about as modern and artisanal as they get. There's a sit-down restaurant area where you order at a counter, outdoor seating, and a market area of local, unique kitchen products. I chose the Country Biscuit Benedict. The house-made biscuits were square, and I always love when they twist the status quo with a different shape :) Smoked ham and sausage gravy made this a very rich, hearty breakfast I thoroughly enjoyed! The Avocado toast was fresh, but maybe not as thickly spread Avo as my dining partners had ordered before elsewhere, and the price tag was a bit high. The Mornin' bowl sported a subtle touch of local honey and is a fresh way to start off with lighter, fruit-based fare. Fantastic vibes and elegant eats at this establishment! I love this place with my whole heart. I can't even begin to formulate the correct words in order to describe this place. Perhaps words like remarkable, extraordinary, and exceptional partially fit, but honestly, you just need to experience it for yourself, When I say that the day I discovered this place my life changed, I am not joking. They have delicious coffee, even more delicious food, and the entire atmosphere and aroma of the spot just makes me want to pass out from happiness. This is the perfect place to meet up for brunch, or for a date, or for an early dinner, LITERALLY ANYTHING. I have forced so many of my friends and family to come here that I'm starting to sound like I'm a Grocer's Table Influencer. My favorite thing from the drink menu is hands down the lavender chai. I can bring witnesses to testify that I have, in fact, cried tears of joy upon consumption previously. My favorite foods from Grocer's Table are the margarita flatbread, the avocado toast, hot smoked salmon toast and the crispy chicken sandwich! They're all amazing and make me feel extra good inside. Everything is fairly priced and you could definitely grab a lunch and coffee for under $20! Parking is very easy as it is right across a parking garage. There's four restrooms in the back and they have excellent lighting for mirror selfies. They also have free wifi and the password has something to do with their address (I would ask a staff member). read more

The food was not the issue for this 2 star review. Everything we had was actually quite good. The issues were in the overall dining experience. First visit to restaurant. Went for breakfast on a Saturday. You find an open table and seat yourself. No menus at table. Up to counter to get menus. When you've decided what you want you go back up to order. You place your order and tip at this time. (Not sure what I'm tipping on at this point. No service has been provided or food received). Ordered specialty coffee drinks (that you have to go pick up yourself as well). Got our own water out of self serve dispenser. (Had to wait for staff to refill). We were sharing dishes so I had to get up and ask for small plates once again. Also, plain black coffee-not even one free refill. When we were finished eating had to go back up to counter (and wait in line) to ask for to-go container. Our table was far from the counter but at times the line to order was quite long. People waiting in line were right next to dining customers. Overall disappointed in our experience. read more

Basic breakfast food packaged in a way that tricks you into believing it's fancier or better than what it actually is. The coffee/drinks area and food order station are separate, and you order at the counter and servers bring the food. The store has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and still manages to fit a display area of dried and refrigerated items right in the middle near the entrance. This causes a constant traffic jam. The menu reads like a fancy farm to table experience but in actuality the food and flavors are pretty basic. The difference in concept is that they sell some artisanal grocery items that do more to take up space than anything else. Take, for example, the crab toast. It's on a glorified slice of whole/honey wheat bread. Not even toasted and drowning in salty hollandaise. The giant plate of yogurt and oats is something you can make at home with store ingredients. Nothing about it tasted particularly special. The prepared salads were heavy and overdressed except for the beet salad. Overall basic food trying hard to give off farm-to-table vibes. read more

I've been lurking on The Grocer's Table since they've opened. It sounds like they have the ideal concept... specialty grocery items, a deli, bakery, and made-to-order dishes that seem elevated. Welp, yes, I like that a lot. Buuuut, I was disappointed from my first visit (pick up), however I definitely plan on giving them another chance. We ordered and pre-paid for takeout online, which was an easy and appreciated process. But when we arrived, it was unclear how to get our takeout order. There was a line at an empty host/ess area, a line by the barista, and a line by the deli. We chose the line by the deli but I waited outside because it was so packed inside. Next time I'll specifically order park in their lot for curbside pickup. We ordered: Butternut squash soup, Spanish tuna sandwich, Autumn cobb salad, a pecan pie bar, and chocolate chip cookie. Unfortunately, we received the wrong soup (some sort of sausage soup, though it was for my pescatarian partner), and the bread of the tuna sandwich was very dry and crumbly, and the pecan bar tasted overwhelmingly of dates. But the Autumn salad was incredible -- LOVED the poached pears and lardons. The thick, soft, chocolatey, and slightly salty chocolate chip cookie was our favorite thing overall. read more

The rating on Yelp is hard because it's one ranking for overall experience. The food is fantastic! That's 5 stars. There is a wide range of options from sweet to savory. There is something for everyone. I love that it's all in house, scratch and you feel the time and work put into each piece. It's not just getting food, you are getting art. Their delicious bakery section is to drool over and they have family style options. Now for the reason I gave 3. And was really bummed. Was the experience. They DO NOT have any covid limits going on from what I could see. I was being bumped and ran into in the store. The lines are filled when waiting to place your order. It was very uncomfortable. We had made a reservation well over a week ago for a table for 6. It was weird on the phone I was told groups of 6 were the max but there were tables of 8. And the state law I am pretty sure is 6 at the moment. First time being here and very excited I wanted us to have the chance to be prepared. Safely when we walked in we were seated and not told anything else. Like that you get your own water (canteen was empty and I had to share with staff to get it refilled) and that you order at the counter. It was confusing because the idea of the hall is to take orders to go or eat there. They do bring to your table. Except for drinks. The lines like I mentioned were very long and mixed. It was not well noted that the two lines could order everything vs one being a good line near the kitchen and the bar being drinks. We had brunch at 12:30 Sunday. By the time we got there they were out of all mimosas, the pear cocktail and gave us the apple cider drink but didn't even say anything that they didn't have the per drink we ordered and just sent us the cider drink. It was still good but they have fresh pressed OJ but when asked for a regular mimosa as their one of the month was out the staff said no we can't. It was a bummer that everything we wanted was out. Felt penalized for having a reservation at barely halfway through the day. My friends coffee that was supposed to have flavoring had none. We also were wondering why they have family style Bloody Mary house mix, but you can't get one at the store? The staff seemed flustered and too busy to give us guidance or apologizes. There was one staff member who was very kind but had no name badge so I can't give him credit. Again good food but should work on crowd control and looks like still has some kinks to workout in flow, product inventory and staff managment. read more

Went for dinner this time and had Cam as our server who did a great job and answered all questions. The charcuterie was amazing! Literally best I've ever had, so fresh and what a variety. It could be a meal for two! The steak and slightly spicy sauce was fantastic, very tasty, tender and cooked perfectly medium rare. Brussel sprouts side was also delicious and fresh. They also have Prosecco- based "cocktails" which were excellent, they call them "shrubs", and I forgot to ask why. :-) Great experience, love that they take reservations as several in Wayzata don't which is annoying. Terrible Terrible Terrible. I am a handicap person who was waiting in line with only two people ahead of me. It appears that the prioritize everyone BUT the people in line for coffee to go.. It took 20 minutes for them to take three peoples orders while the bar and the bakery were able to keep fronting coffee orders. Finally after showing them how impatient we were someone (I assume a manager) came to take the order and then said.......it will be another 15 minutes. At that point and standing on broken legs for 20 minutes I was like are you kidding me? The barista then told the mgr she would just make it but at that point I was done with the insult saying that to a handicap person. Read the room. The treatment and organization when there is a handicap person standing at the front of you line for 20 minutes and then telling them to wait another 15.....unbelievable. Why on earth do they not have a separate station for people ordering to go and if they are going to let the bakery, bar and restaurant front run orders then close that line!!!!!! I think it's time for an ADA complaint! read more
