After many years of wanting to try The Grill (we used to frequent Jimmy P's that sometimes would be great and other times ok), we finally elected to try The Grill and we are very happy that we did so. Everything about it from entering the grounds of The Ritz, walking through the hotel lobby, to being greeted at the host/hostess station elevated an experience that by the end of the meal can be summed up in the word Magnifique! Upon reaching the host/hostess station, we were efficiently greeted and brought to our table walking through a beautiful dining room with a piano player to boot reminiscent of the great restaurants of the '70's and '80's. Whisked to our table to a romantic table for two with a full view of the dining room a la Forge Miami Beach 1980. We were told that The Grill has been operational for 40 years and is the best performing restaurant within Marriott's portfolio and the only remaining Grill. Our server who was outstanding had been here for 29 years. He explained to a T the specials and was both professional and friendly what you would expect at a 5 star restaurant. We started by selecting our bottle of wine a reasonably priced Pride Cab that was not heavily marked up. The wine list was extensive with a wide range of wines priced many priced reasonably and providing good value all the way up to top end Screaming Eagle. We elected to start with a great Caesar salad and followed up with two bone-in steaks, one being the 22 oz. bone-in ribeye for $98 and a 22 oz. bone in filet mignon special at $142 that our server described as being 14 oz. of meat and boy was it huge! The bone-in ribeye was cooked perfectly and delicious and the filet was soft as butter and very very good. We had fantastic Cajun spiced steak fries and great broccolini. For dessert we finished up with two souffles that are personal sized, one being a chocolate souffle with chocolate sauce and in asking for sabayon - they advised that while they could not they would bring out creme anglaise. The cookies n cream souffle was even better and delectable! Service was off the chart polished, unrushed and absolutely great. All in all the experience was beyond 5 stars. A truly unique restaurant standing the test of time and without a doubt the best steakhouse and best restaurant that we have eaten at in the State of Florida. For sometime now the Grill has been one of our favorite in Naples area and our first choice for dinner when staying at the Ritz Carlton Naples. Service was alway excellent and very attentive, food was very good but definitely not cheap. Because of the price, I do have certain expectations, and on this visit, it fell slightly short. We arrived at 6:30pm our reservation time, and were promptly taken to our table. The hostess first offered a table right at the door, I rejected, the restaurant was still fairly empty. Then we were led to another table right next to a big table of 15+ people. Before I said anything, she quickly suggested maybe a quieter table, thank you for that. We ended up with a table on the other corner, it was perfect. As usual, hubby ordered a martini, it came with a lot of ice chip, oops didn't past our first test. We ordered the seared Foie Gras and Kumato Tomato and Watermelon salad. The Foie Gras was done perfectly. The watermelon in the salad was cured, not my type of salad. For our entree I had the short rib, very tender but very dense and lean, hubby had the Delmonico steak with Foie Gras added. The steak has a little bit too much fat and not sure it was worth the cost. We enjoyed the two sides every much - Brussels sprout and sauté mushroom. I joked that perhaps next time I should just have Brussels sprouts and seared Foie gras as my dinner, and I would be very happy. We also ordered a chocolate soufflé which takes 30 min to make. Much to our surprise that the waiter had it split for us when it was brought out. Overall it was a wonderful night, with live piano music playing throughout the whole meal. But we also began to wonder, was it worth the cost? The steak had a little too much fat that it should; Martini has too much ice chip, the two glasses of wine were pricy and forced. Everything about this restaurant is 5 stars, from the service to the food. Our waiter was friendly and professional. Dozen oysters were fresh and served to us in separate dishes, a really nice touch. Bread service was included, unlike most restaurants these days, and pretty much every piece was delicious and fresh. Wish the butter was softer though. Seabass and sirloin were cooked perfectly! The grill is an absolutely an impeccable restaurant in Naples. From the hostess the maître de, the entire wait staff that offered us the absolute best service, our experience was perfection. I made a reservation online a few weeks prior to our dinner, and put in the notes that I would like to celebrate our first year anniversary together. Not only was I blown away by just how kind every person I met there in that restaurant, but they outdo themselves when it comes special occasions. Everyone congratulated us and made us feel incredibly special. We start off with the Amberjack Crudo. The Amberjack was a sashimi style, sliced bite size morsels with an absolute to die for passion fruit vinaigrette, and a beautifully green salad and wonton crispies on top. Well, this portion is not a large portion, the robust flavors in the vinaigrette and each of the micro toppings made for delicate yet exceptional bites. Before that came the bread service including perfectly baked pretzels a few white baguette mini loaves and the absolutely most divine honey wheat loaf you will ever have in your life. And I say that not as a bread person at all, but as a true believer in the enjoyment of a perfectly fluffy subtly Hawaiian style bread. I could've had 10 or more of these honestly. For the main entrée, I chose the Seabass and it was labeled with pancetta, and if you follow me, you know that I don't eat meat and only seafood, so I asked her waiter if it was possible to have the same dish without the pancetta and he said absolutely not a problem at all. It was so delicate, that I could press the soft flesh to the roof of my mouth with my tongue and let the flavors just melt throughout my mouth. The outside of the fish had a perfect crisp to it knowing full well it was cooked in a really HOT pan, keeping the fillet moist and still Sweetly decadent was the perfect juxtaposition of flavors and textures. My spouse enjoyed the lamb chops cooked medium, and quite perfectly. He stated they were on a bed of creamy mint pistou, a rosemary corn polenta in the shape of a cob of corn (nicely played there) with roasted mini eggplants brought the richness of the lamb chop out and melted the flavors together. He was ever so pleased with his meal as was, I! Now for the Star of the Show - I know anyone would think it would be the entrée, but this time it was really the dessert. My spouse had had it before, he could do nothing but talk continually about this soufflé. We selected the chocolate soufflé. I was accompanied by a very rich yet perfectly portioned chocolate reduction, a freshly whipped sweet cream and sweetly roasted hazelnuts. Accompanied the soufflé with a plate that was handwritten happy first anniversary with a strawberry, holding a candle for us to make a wish and blow out together. Once we finished our soufflé, our server not only brought back in Beautiful long stemmed rose and chocolate anniversary card to celebrate our momentous year, he also brought back a small plate for tasting desserts to enjoy while we paid the check too. His kindness and thoughtfulness will forever be remembered on the anniversary of our first date. I honestly could not have asked for a better restaurant celebration, or any other Wait staff for our dinner. I cannot commend the weight staff enough for their hard work and dedication to the true art of fine dining. The Grill is located inside the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Naples. Upon arriving you are warmly greeted by valet. This Ritz Carlton is as impressive as her sister hotels. Very grand entrance that truly fits into Naples. As we walk towards the restaurant the hotel is beautifully decorated with live flowers placed throughout. Upon arriving our group was acknowledged by the hostess. She was so genuine that you can truly tell she loved her position and wanted you to have a memorable experience. Our reservation was for 6:15 PM so we were the first to arrive. The restaurant itself was dimly lite and there was a glow from the fireplace where we were seated. The drink options were numerous. When this happens I usually go for suggestions so I had a Moscow Mule beautifully served in a metal Pineapple. It was one of the most beautiful presentations of a drink that I had ever seen. Once it arrived they took the top off. It was very heavy to lift. The size had to be the equivalent of at least 3 drinks. By the end of the dinner I sadly never even made a dent although it was very good. My appetite was not too hungry and the bread basket was over the top. Especially with the pretzel bread. The butter as you can imagine is unbelievable. Also on the table they brought assorted veggie sticks that were beautifully presented as well. The assorted olives and dip was delicious. For the main course I had the appetizer size 3 Stone Crab. All of the hard outer shell was removed and was served with two sauces. As a side I had the mushrooms that I shared with the group but still never made a dent as the portion was very large. Dessert selection was of course over the top like everything else here, I would love to come back for the twelve layer chocolate cake it sounded incredible. Instead I ordered the pear soufflé it came with chocolate ice cream and whipped cream. Individual portion that I almost was able to finish. It was very special like everything else in this wonderful restaurant. It was truly a memorable meal. As for the service it was also as over the top to compliment everything else in this experience. I had the pleasure to dine at this very fancy restaurant that is located within the Ritz Carlton in Naples Beach. This restaurant definetively gives one the Club-Members-Only-feeling. The staff was very attentive yet distant. The food was good but not exceptional. As a starter I had Jumbo Shrimp with two types of sauces, nothing that I have not had before. The second course was a Lobster Bisque - I didn't like this at all. It was too dark and to heavily seasoned for a creamy soup. I was not the only one feeling that way about this particular item. The main entree I had were the Lamb Chops with Asparagus on the side. The meat was perfectly browned and very tasty. Nice touch - they serve it with a puff pastry on the side topped with caramelized onions. My favorite part of the night was dessert - molten chocolate cake ! I would just come back for this! Absolutely excellent experience across the board at The Grill. Let me preface this saying that I hate going out to steakhouses as they are typically overpriced and I can make a high-end prime ribeye at home for a fraction of the price. Well ... The Grill is definitely worth it. Everything was 100% on point. Starting from the General Manager who greeted us and saw my wife was pregnant and got us two stuffed animals from the gift shop as a present. Then to Scott, our server, who was attentive, friendly and completely on point. Next, on to the food. Every aspect of the meal was perfect. The pretzels they serve with the bread were literally the best pretzels I have ever had in my life. The caesar salad was perfectly balanced. The steaks were both cooked perfectly (which, in my experience, a lot of steakhouses have trouble with). The sides (particularly the steak fries) were also amazing. Best steak fries I have ever had. The way they cook them to make them cripsy and salted them was fantastic. The only "disappointment" was the chocolate cake. It was good, but not as decadant as expected. Again, we truly werent disappointed as it was good. With respect to price, it was very reasonable. It is an expensive meal, but pretty much standard steakhouse prices. I expected a premium for it being at the Ritz, but it was in-line with other high-end steakhouses (and much cheaper than places like Prime 112). My wife and I had the pleasure of dining at The Grill last night. We stayed at The Ritz Carlton Golf Resort for a pre-Valentine Day getaway. The Golf Resort offers complimentary shuttle service to the Beach Resort which allowed us to stay the night, and save a great deal of money on the room (the Golf Resort is half the price of the Beach resort). We dined here years ago when it was The Dining Room, and I must say The Grill maintains the same high standard of it's predecessor. I made reservations weeks in advance so we could secure a great table, and we had one the best locations in the restaurant; tables 10 and 50 are two tops with curved booths that are in the front and rear corners facing into the dining room. Highly recommended. For cocktails, I had an Aviation and my wife had a French 75 made with cognac instead of gin (just like Arnaud's French 75 Bar in New Orleans). Both were outstanding. For wine, I found a beautiful 2009 Fleur Cardinale for a reasonable amount on the extensive wine list, and the sommelier properly decanted the wine before a single bite of food was served (as it should be). For starters, I had the Lobster Bisque and my wife had a Caesar Salad (with real anchovies!). The bisque was very rich with succulent lobster; I just wish there was more of it. The salad was perfect on every level. For mains, we both had Filet Mignon Oscar with Bernaise Sauce. The Grill did this classic dish as well as anyone could hope for, and both steaks were cooked a perfect medium rare. For dessert, we had souffles; chocolate for her and toffee for me. These dishes were just as good as Commander's Palace in New Orleans. I also can claim that Springbank 18 scotch pairs perfectly with a toffee souffle In conclusion, The Grill is one of the best fine dining restaurants in southwest Florida. The service, food, and atmosphere is top shelf. Expensive? You bet, but worth every last cent. read more

When we first moved to Naples from London 6 years ago we were surprised at the lack of really high quality restaurants, especially considering some of the richest people on the planet seem to live here! But amongst the sea of mediocrity that is the Naples restaurant scene, the Grill Room at the Ritz is an Island of excellence. But to be honest that's exactly what you should expect from a luxury hotel chain that has the advantage of pulling some of the best culinary talent from around the world! If you are going to eat here then my recommendation is to sit at the bar. I know that might sound weird for a swanky fine dining restaurant, but to be honest, the best thing about this restaurant is the service at the bar. John Seamount (head bar tender, cocktail maker extraordinaire, and all around hospitality genius) is the perfect guide for anyone wanting to eat here. You also get your drinks much quicker if you eat at the bar!!! The menu is classic and elegant and obviously concentrates heavily on the steakhouse favorites. But all of the cuts of meat are of the highest quality and cooked to perfection. My personal favorites are the filet mignon and the Colorado Lamb Rack but they also have other classics such as New York Strip, Ribeye and Delmomico steaks. However, the sides and the sauces are where this place really shines!! The Potato Gratin is simply divine and when combined with the Red Wine Reduction it's an almost sexual experience!!! (When Harry Met Sally style!!) and their Lobster Mac n Cheese is insane! My favorite appetizers are the Foie Gras and the House Smoked Salmon. The Lobster Bisque is also a house speciality. If your not in the mood for some perfectly cooked meat as an entree they also have a wonderful Dover Sole as well as a delightful Halibut dish. But the menu changes with the seasons and you can be assured that whatever you chose will be of the finest ingredients and cooked to perfection. Negatives: 1) Took 30 minutes to get my dish without someone once apologizing for the delay. 2) The halibut was overcooked and underseasoned. 3) I was never offered a drink menu. 4) This mysterious bread basket that I saw going around to every table never once made it to the bar for people eating there. Just like the hotel itself, the place exudes luxury. Elegant, understated, rich. Service was exactly what you'd expect at a Ritz. We had a maître d', a drink server, a bread server, someone to push your chair in and pull it back out, a sommelier, a wonderful pianist at the grand, and a well-versed, engaging and attentive waiter. I left the table briefly to take a call and when I returned, there was a fresh linen napkin at my dining spot. Several great appetizers and entrée selections. I had a filet; she a bone-in veal chop. Both meals were excellent. Pan seared halibut served next us looked exceptional. If you like fine wine, this is the spot. The list included bottles ranging from a $99 cabernet to a $6,000 1855 Scion Port. Cognac up to $450 for two ounces. We had a very fine 1999 Sandrone Barolo Le Vigne ... delicious after 17 years with only the slightest hint of bricking at the edge of the glass. More Pomp than Circumstance. We vacation as a family in Naples yearly. We have been to many upscale restaurants in the area, but only recently tried The Grill at the The Ritz for the first time. The Atmosphere stuffy and Old. Dark and dank with no windows in the restaurant. Waiter was good, but hostess acted like a snobby robot. Piano player made the mood depressive. Bread was good with several choices, but meal declined from there. Filet Mignon tough, difficult to cut and made my teeth hurt. Wine pairing suggested by waiter was so-so. Dessert OK but took awhile to arrive at table which extended our painful stay. And yes we put our soufflé order in at the beginning of meal. Not worth it for the money we paid. There are so many other great restaurants in Naples, I am disappointed that we wasted our time here. read more

Honestly, there wasn't much to make me remember this place. It is expensive (connected to the Ritz-Carlton) but the food was good. The people who work there judge you upon how you look (I'm assuming because they know who will tip better...wrong). We have been talking about coming here for over a year and made reservations months in advance and it's nice to know it was worth it. Be forewarned-it is very expensive. However, if you're entertaining dining here then you probably are aware. They called to confirm my reservation and let me know the room had no windows and no view. The dining room is very dark and quiet with high-backed chairs. We were seated right away and my mom and sister started with glasses of champagne. They bring a tray with a choice of 4 breads that you can choose from and the man places it in your plate. Very nice touch! They also brought out an amuse bouche of french onion dressing and various vegetables and that was pretty good. I started with the house smoked salmon; it was phenomenal, albeit a pretty small portion. I also had the wedge salad, which was light and tasty.I also tried some of the honey glazed carrots, which were delicious. I don't remember what anyone else ordered except for my mom who got the Dover sole. This is one of her favorite dishes and she said it was the best she's ever had here. High praise! My sister is the only one who ordered dessert; she got a chocolate souffle which she said was good. You do have to order it ahead of time, just FYI. Service was impeccable as you would expect here. Everyone's review about this atmosphere was right. The ambiance of the place can be described as FANCY, UPSCALE, ROMANTIC. You pretty much have to make reservations to get into this place (its the Ritz-Carlton...). The staff is very respectful, friendly as they greet you by your surname. You could tell that the people who dine there are pretty upscale (its the Ritz-Carlton) so it's very easy to feel out of place. As for the food, I'd have to say this is one of the better places to have steak. Everything was cooked perfectly. You have the option to choose between char grilled or with their house flavor. They recommend it plain which is exactly how I enjoy my Dry Aged beef. The most entertaining part of the meal was that when the waiter brought out our steaks, he actually did a plate design with the sauce (much like you see chocolate syrups on desserts). I'm not sure if all waiters there did that was definitely a plus on the waiters end. One thing you have to try there is the Burrata Cheese plate. This is probably by far my favorite cheese. If you like mozzarella, this is like mozzarella with butterish texture. Ended the night with some chocolate lava cake. My husband and I came here as part of our celebration for our anniversary and we loved it! The service, the food, and the ambiance were all befitting. We ordered the lobster mac n cheese, the spare ribs, and the salmon and they were all scrumptious. The price point was high but at least the food and service were exceptional. read more

Awesome!!! This place totally blew my mind. From the time we walked in the hostess Johanna, to enjoying the top notch service by Bart, to the notice of our special evening from Scott, and finally the friendly attentiveness of the manager on duty. ( apologize for not remembering his name) This place is the real deal. I grew up in a family where I was fortunate to dine in fine dining restaurants and a lot of places have forgotten what that is.
