This place is a gem in Winnemucca, NV. We were happy to find it. The service, provided by Angelina, was excellent. I had the make your own omelette. He had the Dads Pancake and bacon! He is still talking about both! My avocado was missed and Angelina took care of it immediately. She had a smile the whole time and was cheery to one and all. The food was delicious and came quickly. I can't believe I have not wrote about the Griddle yet!! I have eaten here many, many times. I travel back and forth to Norther California, and it is my food stop of choice. It is a small town diner/restaurant. It has the old time counter seating, along with booths, and a patio for the summer. The staff and food are always on point. If you are heading through Winnemucca, this has to be your stop. They serve the normal diner fare. Nothing fancy, just very good. All from scratch. I love the corned beef hash and eggs. Make sure to ask for a side of their salsa with your meal. It is delicious. read more

Since it was a holiday, I took the precaution of checking both their native website and their claimed yelp listing. Both sites indicated they were open today. I also called the restaurant ahead of time to make sure but there was no answer and no outgoing message. When my family arrived at the restaurant, it was closed. Why have such disregard for your customers that you wouldn't spend one minute to update your phone message or your yelp listing when you have a planned closure that conflicts with your published business hours? We got here around 10:30am, plenty of space to wait about 15mins outside in the sun on a crisp fall Sunday morning. Staff is very friendly, multiple people checked on us throughout (to me, this is crucial for great service). The hubby had Caribbean French Toast which he loved, and two eggs on the side. I had fresh squeezed oj (yum) and breakfast burrito - which I paid $1.50 more for it to be "smothered" in homemade enchilada sauce... but just had a ladle of sauce over the middle. I'm vegetarian so requested no bacon, sub mushrooms. He said that wouldn't be a sub (therefore additional $$?) but I didn't feel like debating. Coffee wasn't great. Traveling to Glacier with family and was scouting for food stops. Booked marked this place before we even arrived. Great reviews so I decided to check this place out. Nice selection and both indoor and outdoor dining options. Menu had tons of great breakfast options!! I was like..."what?!?" Winnemucca?! You go!! Our server seems to be the least friendly of the bunch, just straight to the point. No smiles, no coffee refills from our server. While visiting my brother and his family we all came here for breakfast and it was the best!! My mom and I shared the California eggs Benedict and the pecan crusted French toast. It was the best I ever had!! The avocado and tomatoes on the Benny was fresh and so delicious and It was on top of a croissant!! I could not stop talking about it my whole trip!! 'The Griddle' makes driving this long stretch of Interstate 80 in Nevada worthwhile. We stop at this cute café every chance we get. The food is great, servers are super friendly and the vintage atmosphere is fantastic with cozy, comfortable booths. We went here for breakfast twice in the space of two weeks and both times our meals were delicious. Our coffee cups never went dry and the fresh squeezed orange juice was sweet and tasty. Their homemade Quiche Lorraine is one of the best I've had and the serving size is very satisfying. My husband had the full breakfast with a peach crepe which was delectable and tasted like a rich dessert. We always look forward to eating here every time we're in Winnemucca. I love this place. It is a combination of an old dinner and country kitchen in one. Their menu is great with everything, breakfast or lunch being very appealing. I highly recommend the fresh squeezed Orange juice or lemonade. I finally decided on the meat lovers omelette. It was excellent and the rye toast with the homemade strawberry and blackberry jams were outstanding. The homemade salsa was great on the eggs. My son had the patty melt which was very good as well.
