The cheese pull was to perfection and each and every bite made me want to go back for another. The pizzas are personal sized and priced well for the value I believe. So when I found out that Black Salt was out on national fried chicken day and they were parked out in front of one of my favorite breweries in Portland, my attendance was mandatory. I'd heard of Black Salt before and was excited to see what the fuss was about. Apparently the fuss about how good their food is 100% on the money. My entire experience was pleasant. The staff communicated upfront that it was going to take a bit longer than normal because they had just replenished their oil and it needed to get back to the desired temp. This issue was compounded by a few orders coming in at the same time. All is said, I appreciated the heads up and in fairness, the wait was still less than 15 minutes (enough time for a refreshment). In the end, the sandwiches were delicious, the buns had integrity (deliciously soft but strong enough to hold up while eating), and the toppings/sauces were out of this world! I will be back time and time again with friends and family and my fried chicken sandwich squad when they come to visit Portland!
