Love the fresh organic ingredients. It is a bit pricey, even though it is organic. I'm a fan of the namesake, the green enchilada. Their verde sauce is nice and sweet with a good tartness to balance. It only has a few seats, so we tend to get ours to go. All in all great local restaurant if more expensive than it should be. read more

Wowza. I am so impressed with the quality and taste of the food here. I stopped getting chicken burritos because it is usually so dry (I know, I'm probably not going to the right places), but the chicken at The Green Enchilada is fantastic. They use Mary's Organic chicken (cue prices not normal for burritos), but it is delicious. I recently tried their shrimp burrito and super tacos and was equally impressed. I am looking forward to tasting around the menu. I definitely recommend trying it! read more

Mexican food was never meant to be healthy. It's meant to be flavorful. My Mexican husband and his family all hate this place. However, this is a good place for healthy/organic food, because it tastes slightly better than other healthy food choices. Basically, Green Enchilada is great for its intended audience: health conscious white people. So if that's you, you'll love it. You'll love the food and you'll like the service. On the other hand, if you're Mexican, have ethnic or ethnic-adjacent taste buds, or just appreciate authentic, spicy, flavorful, juicy Mexican food, avoid this place like the plague. YES I am a huge fan of this awesome fresh mexican joint! This place serves stupid awesome food at decent prices and most importantly it's delicious and fresh. I've been here about 6-7 times in the last month and they have yet to disappoint. I've had their carne asada tacos with green sauce and their chicken taco salad. The only thing that I wasn't a fan of was their over the top spicy chicken tamales that hardly contained any chicken and lacked real flavor. Everything so far has been great with the freshness of the food and the awesome service I always get every time I'm here no matter who's at the register. I've dined in most times and their always quick to serve you and keep the place clean and fully stocked of napkins, utensils, water and whatever else you may need. Very friendly service. The carnitas burrito contained an ample portion of meat. The chicken and al pastor enchiladas were delicious with red and green sauce, respectively. Can't wait to try the mole sauce next time! The churro was a great way to end the meal. read more

I LOVE that this place is ORGANIC!! I ordered one regular fish taco, and a side of black beans. Came with a side of chips (average but fresh) and salsa (i chose the spicy, and it was actually spicy!!!). Sat at the counter overlooking outside. Small place, a couple of outside tables, one very nice cashier/server, and one cook who smiled at me when I walked in. Decent size taco, small side of beans is plenty big. Yummy white fish. It was really large and really good, but the only downside is that you have to order guacamole, sour cream, and even cheese as an extra charge. I will say I was late for dinner, around 8:00. But the rice was overcooked, the beans tasted sour, I ordered chicken enchiladas and they used their "Peruvian style" Rotisserie chicken, which might be good on it's own but it's overly sweet as an enchilada filling. We just went there recently and got a very large order to go. Years ago I gone here for chicken burritos and thought it was so delicious organic chicken so tender flavorful. But that's not the case anymore. I don't know if they changed hands or what difference is. We just spent $75 there this past weekend matched my disappointment. We had our kids visiting us and wanted to get some good Mexican food so I suggested this green enchilada. We got a taco play which was nothing to write home about the chickens was tough. My husband got the chicken enchilada dinner and said he would never go there again. Our daughter-in-law got the salmon salad. She ate the salmon but nothing else literally. I got the chicken burrito in Spanish tortilla. The chicken was tough and it was so filled with rice it was a completely dry experience. Plus I guess they don't know how to really wrap tortillas there for burritos because the end just opened up the minute I took a bite from it and everything came pouring out. This is my third try with green enchilada after not being very satisfied but I'm afraid it will have to be my last! The Green Enchilada is a keeper! I came here for the first time yesterday for lunch with a friend. The food was really - the best. I ordered two green enchiladas with Carnitas (shredded pork), which came with Spanish rice and beans. I chose the pinto (versus black) beans which were light and also flavored very well. Everything is made without lard at the restaurant and you can taste the freshness of this delicious flavor. You can also taste the organic flavor of the veggies in the food, which is really lively and light, despite being traditional Mexican dishes. We had our lunches with Pacifico beer which enhanced the flavors of everything. I highly recommend The Green Enchilada. You could tell that all of the patrons were regulars. I think I will become a regular myself. And I can't wait to go back again! read more

Pacifica, my happy place, has changed over the decades. I thought I was walking into the old pizza place next door and walked into the The Green Enchilada. Deciding that my Health Angel was guiding me, I talked my boyfriend into looking at the menu. It was warm out (yes, rainy and 73 deg) we were beat after walking the beach...our bodies wanted fresh and nutritious...fast. We ordered the Ensalada Pacifica because of the mango and papaya. I had a fierce case of the munchies too and had to get nachos. OMGoddess! Huge portions, tasty, fresh, the most amazing salad I may have ever had. The nachos were scrumptious. Everything mega-nutritious. For me, now 53, I'm in a fight for my quality of life! I went there two or three times in a week since it was convenient for me, when I was taking care of my grandparents when they were at Pacifica Nursing & Rehab Center. I have no idea why this place is highly reviewed... maybe we just ordered the wrong thing...?? We came here for cheese enchiladas, one red one green, pinto beans and rice. It came to 15.50$ or so. The salsa (chips/salsa)is terrible, has no smell or flavor and we honestly couldn't figure out what it was... almost black in color (very dark green). The enchiladas were mini in size, especially for 15$ and cheese was not melted in either of them ie, cold. The red sauce is glorified thin style pizza sauce you would by at the Safeway next door. Sour cream is runny... so strange. The rice and beans were way to salty and the rice doesn't even taste authentic. We both love Mexican food and thought with the ratings we would drive down from the city and check them out. We only ate 1/2 of each enchilada and a few bites of rice and beans before we decided it wasn't worth eating. At all. Seriously inedible food. I have zero clue as to how anyone would enjoy their enchiladas, rice or beans. Plus how hard is it to get salsa right I don't usually review things bc I am not a critic nor do I care for people, average person speaking poorly about food/service..... but with that said, I would thank someone for saving me from eating the worst enchiladas I have ever eaten. I really wanted to fall in love with this place since I have been looking at it for months. I ordered vegetarian enchiladas, refried beans, and mexican rice with 1/2 red sauce and 1/2 green sauce. I don't each much but after I ate I was still hungry. Hours later I am very gassy with a stomach ache & can tell the beans have not been "degassed". I also have heart burn which is most likely from the red sauce. The deal breaker for me was: 1 enchilada was chopped tomatoes, onions, 1 mushroom; the other enchilada was one piece of spinach, one thinly sliced piece of squash quartered, and onions. I would say maybe 1 tsp of vegetables per enchilada. For $18 (including tip) not worth it to me & I won't be returning. read more

The tortilla was reddish colored, and the burrito had the perfect amount of cheese, guac, carne asada, rice, tomatoes, onions, and spices. 4 people split 2 super burritos, which is perfect for a light meal. Yes it was large but it was dry and lacked in flavor. You have to pay extra for cheese and sour cream. Salsa isn't even included. There is an option to add sauce but I was thinking that was the smothering wet kind which I do not like. I didn't think there would be zero sauce inside the burrito. After looking at several dining options, I stopped by this quaint little place while visiting my Uncle who is staying in a nearby physical rehab facility. Don't shy away from the limited seating or small area because the food is awesome. I ordered the two taco (crunchy) meal with black beans. I chose the al pastor meat and was not disappointed. The server asked if I wanted chips and salsa and, of course, I said yes. Holy cow! They were delicious. Fresh, crunchy chips and slightly spicy salsa = happy taste buds and satisfied stomach. Very laid back environment and friendly staff. Handed me my food over the counter which made me feel like I was at a friends house. The plate of food was enormous and I tried to rise to the challenge, but failed. The beans and rice were very tasty and the tacos were perfectly "crunchy." The al pastor was phenomenal and the meal came with a little lettuce salad that had a wonderful vinaigrette type dressing on it.
