Barbara and the staff there were very kind and professional when I brought in some old gold and silver to sell. They were able to sort solid gold from gold-plated and also determine the percentage of silver in various items. Turns out there was also some platinum!! I recommend them and would return. read more

The Gold Drop is fair, fast, and lovely to deal with when selling gold and other jewelry.

I recently sold a vintage Rolex at The Gold Drop in San Rafael and had an excellent experience. I believe it was Rahel who helped me. What really stood out was the level of customer service. She took the time to thoroughly explain how she arrived at her offer, and I felt the pricing was very fair. She even helped me figure out how to receive my payment through Apple Pay, taking extra time to make sure everything worked properly. She also let me know that they offer free appraisals for vintage jewelry, which is a great service to have locally. The Gold Drop is a wonderful small family business, and the location is very convenient with easy parking right on the same block. If you're looking to sell jewelry, watches, or precious metals and want honest, knowledgeable service, I highly recommend The Gold Drop. read more

Absolutely recommend the Gold Drop. Friendly, helpful, trustworthy, good prices on gold. Wonderful store I'm a regular now.

I have worked with Rahnelle and Shalom with the selling of various watches that I have owned and sold to them. They have always been fair in their buying prices and considerate with my situation. I have found them to be very helpful and always interested in what I have brought in and what else I have in my collection. They listen to what I have to share with them regarding the background of the watches and their place in the watch market and my knowledge and professionalism as a collector. They are always very considerate, respectful and caring and always ask if there is anything else they can do to help me. I have been a repeat customer and can always depend on them when I need to sell any of my timepieces. read more

Gold drop was great to work with selling some gold and silver sitting around our house. They gave us an estimate really quickly and made the transaction simple. She even helped to show me what was mis-labeled and why which was really helpful for me to identify which pieces of mine were real gold and plated. Highly recommend. read more

I filled out their online form asking about the value of my mother's silverware set. Barbara called me later the same day (! so fast!) and we arranged a time for me to stop by the next day. Her evaluation, and Shalom's, was thorough and precise. I felt their price honest and fair. All the while, we all had an easy conversation; it was a pleasure meeting them. The Gold Drop provides a valuable service to our community. read more

I felt they were professional and honest and Barbara was very helpful and knowledgeable. I would go again! Great experience!

I had a bunch of broken necklaces and singleton gold earrings that I've been holding onto for decades. I looked up where to go to sell it and this place came up with great reviews. I walked in and a nice woman carefully tested the quality of each piece. She offered what seemed like a fair amount and advised me objectively about what to do with the pieces they couldn't buy. It was a great experience and I'd come back and recommend it to others. read more

I brought several pieces to have evaluated. Unfortunately none were of any value. The owner lady was so nice and we enjoyed chatting with her. She is certainly knowledgeable in the field. read more

I had several old pieces of gold jewelry that I'd been thinking about selling for a few years but didn't know how to go about it. I decided to go to The Gold Drop just to see what they were worth and ended up selling all of it since the price of gold is relatively high now. I went in off the street with no appointment. The service is great. There was absolutely no pressure at all from Barbara and Rahel, who are kind, professional, and very importantly, honest! I sold all kinds of old jewelry (some of it of sentimental value) and various scraps, like a gold crown, also a high school ring and sorority jewelry that I'd though were relatively worthless (they weren't), old watches, rings, vintage brooches, gifts from teenage boyfriends, and more. These were things that I had never used, hadn't used in years and will never use. Their sole purpose had devolved into taking up physical, mental and emotional space. I can say that It feels really great to finally let go of things that are no longer relevant to my life, creating space for something new to emerge, and earning top dollar in the bargain. If you've been thinking about selling jewelry or just wondering what your pieces are worth, I wouldn't hesitate to drop in on The Gold Drop. read more

Non-intimidating and straight forward. I enjoyed meeting the staff here and receiving their offer as we made pleasant conversation. Felt good about the check I took home, too. Will return. Easy free parking just down the block, btw. read more

This lovely couple was amazing. I walked in with various gold pieces and was helped within a few minutes. They gave me a price for everything dependent on whether it was 14, 18 or 22 karat gold. Armed with great information I sold the pieces that made sense. The whole process was quick, efficient, professional, and kind. Highly recommend. read more

This family company provides good service and is fair. They give you the weight of your items.

Very helpful and fair prices! We will definitely be coming back and recommend to anyone looking to sell or buy!

They were very fare in their pricing we will definitely one back to sell gold here again

I brought in a ring believed to be made of platinum. I was paid a satisfactory amount. After they had more time to examine it they discovered it was actually white gold. They called me and said they had underpaid me because of this and to come back for the correct amount. which was quite a bit more. They did not have to do this, but they are a very reputable company. I highly recommend. Cannot say enough about their honesty. read more

Completely unprofessional. Wasted 2+Hrs of my day. We agreed on a Set price with someone named "Luca" I called the store to verify the appointment with Shalom that he himself agreed was set for 3pm . I drive 1 Hour to the store from Walnut Creek and then it turns out they don't know a Luca and offer me way less then the pre negotiated and agreed upon price. wouldn't recommend to selling any jewelry to this guy read more

I've been to Gold Rush 3 or 4 times over the past 10 years. I would not go anywhere else to sell gold or silver. Barbara takes the time to explain how the value of my items is calculated, and she has always been honest and fair. She goes the extra mile to ensure that I'm a happy customer when I leave. Can't recommend Gold Rush enough. Truly a top notch business. read more

I highly recommend this business & will use them again! I took silver & gold items to sell and my items were analyzed for their gold/silver content piece by piece. A couple of items were rechecked for their gold content. My salesperson was very pleasant and thorough. She and the staff made the process easy & enjoyable. I had a seamless experience & know I was paid a fair price for my jewelry. Many thanks to everyone @ The Gold Drop, especially Barbara! read more

I have been feeling the pinch of the economy lately and decided to sell some of my broken jewelry. I walked in and was greeted by a friendly girl who made the experience very enjoyable. They will be getting all my business whether I am buying or selling from now on! read more

I came into the Gold Drop on NYE this year after reading all of their great reviews on Yelp. I had a combination of gold and silver jewelry from when I was a child, along with some broken necklaces and earrings and several very sentimental items I was unsure about selling. From the minute I walked in I was welcomed by Barbara and the entire family and offered valuable information, a lot of patience and some great stories. They offered me very reasonable prices for almost all of my jewelry and l ended up keeping some of my most sentimental pieces on their advice and guidance. I left with a warm heart and some money in my pocket and would highly recommend Barabara and everyone at The Gold Drop if you are looking to sell your gold or silver jewelry. No need to look elsewhere! :) read more

Wow, I've dealt with the rest now I for sure have found the BEST! Others around the area have pretty much been the monopoly in Marin so to speak and are flippant and 'could -care-less, 'take it or leave it' , attitude when coming to purchasing if you're values. And usually if there is discrepancy's or issues, 'oh, you'll have to deal with the owner on that' who just so happens to not be around. WELLLLL, not this place. They are current with trending prices, fare, negotiable and down right the nice people. Not only that, the women who gave me a current price from the day before but had since gone down 11cents the day I was there, the owner, gave me the better price because that is what I had been quoted. Even though they were going to take a loss. Wow, JUST WOW! It's been a hell of a long time since I have found ANY business in Marin as of late with the founding ate-age 'the customer is always right, and one bad customer experience tells ten and ten tell ten more'! Well let's make this wonderful experience tell 100 and a 100 tell 100 more.!!!! Luv this place!!!! read more

I went to the Gold Drop this morning for the first time and had a very good experience. Barbara was extremely helpful and personable. Raquel and family were great! They spent so much time with my collection, carefully inspecting and testing all of the pieces. Raquel was kind enough to ask at each point if I agreed with the estimation of the value. Everyone was friendly and I felt super comfortable that I was being treated honestly. A friend and I recently visited The Gold Drop. We were treated professionally and with courtesy. Our items were considered, and, with each piece, an explanation was given as to the process and evaluation. We were very satisfied with the outcome. I came to the Gold Drop upon a recommendation from another Gold shop since my jewelry piece was unique. I was pleasantly surprised when Shalom was able to understand the value of the piece and wanted me to let them try to sell it, even though we both had our doubts with not very many people being interested in wearing jewelry pieces nowadays. Unfortunately the value of diamonds has dropped because of lab grown and the price that I had the piece appraised for years ago has gone down, I was a little reluctant to settle on a lower price for it to sell, but I left it with Shalom just to see if he would find a buyer. I was surprised to get a call less than 2 weeks later from Shalom, letting me know that not only was he able to sell the piece, but that he was going to give me more than what was agreed upon. When I went to finish the transaction, it made me feel a lot better about selling the piece and was an easy process where they just handed me a check for the sale. It is definitely hard for people to trust others and having someone who is not only knowledgeable about jewelry, but is also willing to be honest about a sale is a rare find. Knowing that Shalom is able to sell this jewelry allows me to feel good about bringing him other items and that I will be getting an honest price for them. read more
