Exceptional service from Stephen at Ross Goldsmith. I had a very difficult repair on the original titanium mesh bracelet from my Omega Seamaster "No Time To Die." Because it's a specialized Grade 2 titanium bracelet, several places either wouldn't touch it or suggested replacing it entirely. Stephen was confident, knowledgeable, and able to repair it beautifully. The workmanship exceeded my expectations, and the price was more than fair considering the complexity of the job. It's refreshing to find someone who values quality craftsmanship and treats every repair with care. My watch is back on my wrist, and I couldn't be happier with the outcome. I highly recommend Stephen and Ross Goldsmith to anyone looking for an honest, skilled jeweler and watch repair specialist. Thank you again for the outstanding work! read more

I was thrilled to find Stephan and his wife again! The stone from my vintage platinum engagement ring fell out. I had brought it elsewhere to be repaired, and they said it wasn't repairable, and I needed to purchase a new setting for the stone. Stephan had repaired my antique ring twenty years ago, and when I brought it in he fixed it while I was relaxing in the guest chair. The price was 1/100th the price the other jeweler quoted me. I am so thrilled, and highly recommend Stephan for all your jewelry needs. read more

EXCELLENT, professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and reasonably priced Jewelry Repair by an Award-Winning Master Goldsmith. After seeing a positive post on a neighborhood site, I decided to try Ross Goldsmith out. What a positive experience - in the quality of their work and the price. I took my diamond and Ceylon sapphire tennis bracelet to Ross Goldsmith today because a link broke. I met Stephan Gunning who is an award-winning Master Goldsmith - something I learned as we were talking. I appreciated his knowledge, his easy and friendly personality, and that he was not trying to gouge me on the price. Even better, he had just finished another project, had some time, and he was able to fix the link in about 30 minutes! He asked if I had some time and he could fix it right then. He needed about 30 minutes or so, so I walked over to the Mexican Restaurant two doors down, enjoyed a couple of shrimp tacos and a margarita, and returned about 30 minutes later as he was wrapping up my job. I also asked him to inspect the bracelet to let me know if any of the other links were failing. He pointed out at least 4 (the bracelet is over 30 years old) fragile links, and we agreed that if and as they fail, I could bring it back. Fortunately, there is not a risk of losing the bracelet if another link fails. The job cost only cost $50 - reasonable and fair for what needed to be done. I was given an estimate of $150 from a jewelry repair in Mill Valley, which I knew was ridiculous for what needed to be done - and I am not even a jeweler. I would not have gotten one link fixed for that price, so I am relieved Stephan was there to save the day! I appreciated Stephan's honesty and workmanship. He told me that he and his wife bought it from the previous owner who was retiring (he had already worked there for seven years prior) and she was as delightful as Stephan. They also had some beautiful pieces to purchase in their store. I highly recommend Ross Goldsmith! rossgoldsmith.com They are at: 224 Sir Francis Drake Blvd., San Anselmo 415-458-1770 read more

As a former business owner I appreciate when a business is professional, has a lovely ambiance and gives special care to its clients. Stephan Gunning and his wife Johanna have succeeded in all of these areas. The store is beautifully curated with modern and vintage styled jewelry. Johanna's displays are carefully crafted and elegant. Stephan is a Master goldsmith with over 50 years of experience and it really shows in all of his work. I have a bracelet that I love, but was badly damaged. I thought it was beyond repair but Stephan was able to restore it like it was new! I can't wait to go back and see what new pieces they have added to their inventory. I already have an eye on a few. They truly have an amazing jewelry store! read more

This shop has a new owner named Stephan Gunning and he is a "can do jeweler" and problem solver supreme. I stopped in one afternoon and he got right to work on putting several items back into working order. I can't wait to bring in some of my grandmother and mother's jewelry -- he is expert at restoring old jewelry and has lots of tools to do the job right. This man is your local "can do" friendly and skilled jeweler. read more

Brought in my emerald-cut emerald and diamond ring set in an organic rose gold setting (not a traditional prong setting). The center emerald stone had become loose, and Stephan the goldsmith was absolutely wonderful--very pleasant, as was his wife. He not only fixed the setting perfectly, but also had it ready earlier than promised. I'm very satisfied with the work and would happily return. Highly recommend without hesitation! read more

My fiance and I received two family rings when we got engaged this past year and decided that we wanted to create a special ring that incorporated them both with an updated style that matched my aesthetic. My mom was the one that recommended The Ross Goldsmith since a friend of her's had re-designed her ring and thought I might like his work. Upon entering his shop for the first time, I was blown away. Everything on display was unique, artistic and well made. William was friendly, not pushy at all and allowed me to try on styles right then and there to see if anything caught my eye. I let him know I was interested in doing a full custom ring so we scheduled some time for me to come in and design. I brought my sister in with me and we again tried on styles, he walked me through all the different pros and cons of different styles, geometric, square verse a round base, height, etc. etc. Again, William was so accommodating and made the process so easy. Once I decided on a base style, we sat down and he sketched what we talked about, making tweaks, to height, thickness, tapered verse not, chose the metal and then we worked out a price. He was very straight forward :) William turned around a wax casting in 2 weeks, over the Christmas holiday! I was able to then come in, with my mom this time, try everything on and make final adjustments before we made the final. Words cannot express how excited I was when I saw the final ring. It's so absolutely perfect, feels like me and displays the family diamonds beautifully. William was such a pleasure to work with through the entire process and I so appreciated how much he communicated with me throughout and made me feel comfortable since it had really been my first time around fine jewelry. I would recommend him to anyone that is looking for something special and wants a little more character than your average wedding ring :) read more

Excellent service from the owner. He was informative, listened attentively to my exact specifications, and delivered on them in the final product. My ring turned out beautiful and exactly as I wanted. The best jewelry experience I've had in Marin. Bar none. read more

I am a jeweler's daughter and grew up in the business. So, I know what I am talking about when I say that The Ross Goldsmith, William Mc Bride, is a true artistic genius--as well as a nice guy who really listens to his customers. Further, his prices are reasonable for the fine quality and high value he provides. Will made our beautiful unique wedding bands. I still get weekly compliments on the design of my sapphire & diamond engagement ring set in yellow gold. Once given an idea or inspiration, Will is a craftsman who can create a piece that far exceeds one's highest expectations. Over the years, he has made: a star-ruby ring as a gift from me to my husband (later adding small diamonds to the sides); a beautiful gold mounting to modernize a family 2 cwt. diamond ring for me; as well as sapphire, diamond and emerald post earrings. "Off the shelf" I have purchased a set of gold "earring collars" for the posts, "perfect" gold hoop earrings, and an incredible ruby-throated gold hummingbird broach with an opal wing. Most recently I received, as a surprise from my husband for our 20th anniversary, an exquisite white and gold pendant created by Will of heirloom diamonds featuring a - gold Roman numeral XX signifying the 20 years - with a blue sapphire in the middle echoing my engagement ring motif! Thank you, Will! read more

Will designed my and my husband's wedding rings, and it was singularly the most pleasant jewelry buying experience I have had. I came in only with a notion of what I wanted, and Will just "got it." Within minutes, he had taken my descriptions and we had narrowed it down to number of wonderful choices. There was never a sense of pressure, as is routinely the case with other jewelers. My husband had an identical experience, and we could not be more pleased with our rings, or confident we received the fairest and best price. People routinely stop me to compliment my ring. Since then, my parents have hired Will to design jewelry for them as well, with immaculate results. It is clear that Will's only goal is to design your ideal piece of jewelry. He has my highest recommendation. read more

Will McBride has been The Ross Goldsmith for many years. I started working with him while he was in Ross and followed him to San Anselmo where he has his shop on Sir Francis Drake. Will McBride, The Ross Goldsmith, has made several lovely custom jewelry pieces for me over the years, but the "Honeycomb" ring he made for me recently is truly fabulous! From my simple sketch, he was able to create a unique modern design in gold that includes my collection of small family diamonds. I'm a beekeeper, so setting the diamonds in hexagons reflects my passion for honeybees as well as showcasing the stones. McBride welcomed my input every step of the way. My mother's and grandmother's engagement ring diamonds are now in that ring, and it means a great deal to me. It turned out better than I could have imagined, and I constantly get compliments. If you have an idea for a custom jewelry design, or just want to modify something you see in his store, McBride is very accommodating, and is probably the most talented jeweler you'll find in the Bay Area. Plus he's a really nice guy. read more

I enlisted the help of William to re-design some of the jewelry that my grandmother gave me. He shared his expertise, respect for budgeting, and his sense of design and knowledge of various stones. He crafted a matching ring for both me and my mother, and restored my grandmother's ring she had from high school. His work is stunning and high quality, and I'm so grateful to have this Memorial of her that will last for years to come. Because of his expertise, the various projects far exceeded my expectations and what I could envision. I would recommend Ross Goldsmith to anyone who is looking for excellent work and trustworthiness. read more

A wonderful experience and result to report. It may seem odd at age 82, and 62 years of marriage to get a new wedding ring. With my wedding band in three pieces we decided to go to a jeweler that would design a wedding band for a "hard wearing tom boy". We also had my mother-in-law's diamond engagement ring, unsure of the value of the diamond. With this in mind and knowledge of many jewelers in the area, I chose The Ross Goldsmith in San Anselmo to work with. The experience of creating a design (the diamond was a good grade) was fun. A wax model is made to assure the design and fit was perfect. The result was all that I dreamed. Getting to know William McBride, the designer, was a bonus. Besides his jewelry design he is an avid nature photographer. I heartily recommend this business for your jewelry design needs, or the beautiful jewelry in stock. read more

The Ross Goldsmith is excellent. William McBride designed and made my engagement/wedding ring set in 1991 and my husband went back to him to make an anniversary ring.
