Their main businesses are estate evaluations and high-end jewelry sales and repairs. Jeff is a certified Master Jeweler and watch repair maven! Janet also has developed her personally designed line of women's fashion and skin creams that are on display and available in the shop. In every instance, their work and their inventory is always a notch above what anyone might have reasonably hoped for in a small town shop. Big job or small, big sale or not, their attitude, professionalism and work product is categorically outstanding. The ring in the photo has been resized there 5 times! Right in downtown Fairfax. The jewelry was inspected but not weighed, and the price quoted was probably 1/4 of what I received from other places. They criticized the ring and initially told me it was chipped, which it was not, and said the time and cost to cut a simple gold chain would be high and take a long time. Based on the customer experience, I would never go back. Take your time and shop around, as there are a lot of better options, including The Gold Drop in San Rafael, and Prince in Sausalito, both of which excelled at customer service and provided much better pricing.

It had gotten tangled up with another super thin gold chain that I had from another jewelry store. I worked for hours over days trying to untangle them. The woman behind the counter spent a good hour very patiently working to untie all of the knots in those chains. I stayed and watched so that I could learn how to do it and to witness the miraculous unraveling of those gold threads. She never complained or lost focus. I expected some kind of per hour charge but there was no charge! Just a gracious and patient woman who was happy to solve the puzzle.

This is the perfect place for a gift, a dress, or something special just for you. Kristina helped me decide on the jewelry. She was friendly and knowledgeable about everything in the store. My purchase was gift wrapped and I left with a smile on my face.

When she'd tried it on in the store, it was a perfect fit. Several months later when I proposed, the ring was literally 2.5 sizes too big (she'd clearly had inflammation from the travel, heat, etc. when she tried it on). We also noticed one of the diamonds was ever so slightly loose. We were told by some that it was impossible to size down. I was extremely worried about american jewelers damaging or ruining the ring. The antique gold, the placement of the diamonds, everything was too complicated. Thank goodness we got the recommendation to go to Sausalito jewelers. Their in house jeweler, Paulo, is Italian and holds master jeweler certification from Florence. He did an absolutely perfect restoration. He brought it down over 2 sizes, he gave it a gentle polish, and he was able to adjust the loose ring. He did this work without in any way changing or distorting the original look or shape of the ring. I cannot tell you how happy we are with it. Also, huge shout out to Sam and Aida who work there, did the consultation with us, and who are always willing to give our pup, Pax, a treat. I cannot give enough compliments or thanks to this team.

After going to two other jewelry stores who told me they would send it out to Repair and it would cost between $400 and $600, I decided to try Andre Fleury Swiss watch company. Andre Took the watch and told me he would look at it and get back to me in a few days. Nice when the watch expert is right there working at his desk. A few days later, I went to pick up the watch. He handed it back to me with a smile and told me it was much more accurate now. There was no charge listed on the ticket. So I said, "how much do I owe you?" Andre said "that's all right, I'll catch you next time". "it's an easy watch to regulate... It didn't take much time at all.". If this were an old friend, I might understand that... But this was strictly business. Who does that in this day and age? Apparently, Andre does. Somehow, that made me feel just a little bit better about humanity. All I can do is give him a five star review, which is richly deserved. One other quick thing: his business is basically in an upscale office building, not in a mall somewhere. The building is really nice, and parking is a breeze. The restrooms are all unlocked... This whole experience was like a pleasant experience into the past, when life was easier and kindness was much more likely to be given to a stranger.

He recommended I contact the manufacturer and have it replaced and even provided me with the website information for the manufacturer. Instead of just letting me leave, he meticulously placed my watch in a protective bag to prevent any damage to the watch and apologized he couldn't assist me further. Based on my experience, and coming from a sales/customer service background, I really appreciated the customer service I was provided when he could've just replaced the battery to make a quick $40 and sent me on my way. Honesty and integrity. Very rare these days but greatly appreciated. I will be taking my other watches to them in the near future.
