It was our first time trying out this place. We had passed by it a few times and were curious. The food did not disappoint. We both got burger and they were so good. We came in under stressful circumstances -- in town for our son's car accident -- and The Glasshouse was exactly the calm, welcoming spot we needed. The space itself is modern, with a long bar and a separate lounge-like area -- great vibe. Diego was the only one there when we arrived, and he was incredibly friendly and empathetic. He recommended the skirt steak (great call), and my wife loved the homemade flautas. Their food is cooked with beef tallow which is healthier and more flavorful than some seed oils (I bbq and cook so this stood out.) They have a rotating selection on beer and ciders. After hearing why we were in town, he offered us a round on the house before heading out -- we later found out he's actually the owner, though he was way too humble to mention it himself. Kiara took great care of us the rest of the visit -- attentive, warm, and genuinely took time to check in with us during a hard day. Small businesses like this, run by people like Diego, deserve to succeed -- especially when you can tell they're taking care of visitors who aren't even from the area. We'll be back next time we're in Salinas, hopefully under better circumstances! read more

The husband left dinner plans up to me, so I decided on The Glasshouse. I wanted to try something different and new. We walked in around 9:30 pm and the place felt great--well-lit, lively, music playing, and people chatting. We found a small table tucked in the corner near what I assume was the restroom. A nice gentleman asked if we'd mind him moving the table for us, which actually worked out better for me. We ordered two chimichurri skirt steak sandwiches--mine with fries, his with onion rings--and I got a mouthwatering water melon lime 5% cider. Everything hit the spot. We both got full after half a sandwich and took the rest home. I totally recommend this place. Don't skip the chamoy rim on the drink--the tanginess pairs perfectly with the cider. The place is relatively small so it gets packed fairly quick. They do have outdoor seating with a few fireplaces to keep you warm at night. The downside about the fireplaces is that there's not enough space to put down food and drinks. The experience was good until it wasn't. Our server was really nice and welcoming. The food was pretty good. We got a few appetizers (hot Nashville mozzarella sticks and wings and garlic fries) and everything was devoured. For entrees, I got the flautas. They were flavorful and crispy. The chicken Cesar salad was a decent size so it was filling. The chimichurri steak and pesto chicken sandwiches were really good as well. We got the churro ice cream for dessert and it wasn't too bad, it was just super small. Although the food was really good, the service was not the best. Every time our initial server approached us, they would tell us that things at the bar needed to be changed by her so she was missing for a good chunk of time. I assume the servers were helping each other out because it was someone different every time. It did take a while for drinks to come out and they did run out of a few drinks as well. Towards the end, it took about 45 minutes for the server to return in order for us to ask for the check. When we received the check, we were given the wrong bill. When we got the correct bill, they returned the receipt but the card was missing. We looked for 10 minutes to see if it must've fell out so I went to the bar and waited another 10 minutes for someone to become available to assist. When I mentioned my card was not returned back to me and described my card, they turned around to look for the card which was behind the counter. Maybe it was an accident but it did leave us a little suspicious. I think they definitely need more employees to support with the delay in service. Not the best service but the food was pretty good. We came to check out this place on a Friday night. It was busy but we got seated and taken care of right away. The service is amazing here. Kiara, our server was wonderful.. she was so sweet, her energy was fun, and she gave us awesome suggestions that we ended up ordering! We tried the Nashville Hot Monsterella bricks and it was delicious !! The cheese pull was insane!!! I got the huckleberry cosmic crisp cider We still craved it the next day and eventually came back the next weekend ! We sat outside where there were plenty of seats with fire pits to keep you warm. I ate at Glasshouse on a slow Monday evening and did not have a good experience. The beer selection was mostly ciders and very high ABV drinks which isn't really my thing. The food was okay. I got the steak sandwich that was decent but overpriced for what it actually was. The real issue was the service. It took almost an hour to make a single sandwich. The food came out cold. The bartender spent most of the time hanging out in the kitchen and was overall not present. I would not come back and would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

Could not appreciate this place any more. Basically lining the side of an alley off of South Main st. Walked in and were greeted by Itzel who told us to sit wherever we liked. From the moment we sat down the service could not have been better. Very available to help with anything we wanted and had great recommendations for food and drinks. Offered samples of the various beers and ciders they have to offer. Had two very minor hiccups with our orders which they promptly overcompensated for. We had the Nashville hot mozzarella cheese bricks appetizer (awesome!) ,Two Cowboy smash Burgers, I had the Jalpeno smash burger and everyone thought their food was perfect. The food was super yummy!! Good priced. They have yummy cider options on tap. The owner came over and brought us cider tasters, they were all delicious. My favorite is the boysenberry vanilla one! Great music choice. The only thing I would have like was for the music to be just a little lower so we could talk without almost yelling during dinner. I wish I can give a higher rating because the food is actually good but we were disappointed in customer service, attention to detail and wait time. I had visited the Glasshouse one time before for just a couple of drinks and got some sopes to go which were delicious. We decided to try it again and order more items off the menu to try but we called an order to go this time and we were told 15-20 minutes. Half our order had modifications to remove things our kids don't eat like salsa pico de gallo for example. And we asked for onion rings on one of our burgers. When we went to pick up the food it took an extra 25 minutes for our food and nothing was modified like the way we ordered. For the amount of money we paid and extra time waited you would hope they made the food the way it was asked for but unfortunately that wasn't the case. Really disappointed because the food is good, maybe we need to try dining in and see if that makes a difference but contemplating if I'll go back. read more

The waitress was marvelous! She way stretched very thin - 5 PM on a weeknight. The inside had a friendly vibe, everyone drinking and watching sports. We chose to eat outside, it was pleasant. The shrimp in the protein bowl were overcooked and the skirt steak sandwich could've used a dipping sauce (like French dip or Birria) the flautas were yummy! Well, I have never had to wait 20 minutes for a water. The resturant isn't even large? Then when I finish my water, I discover a used gum wrapper at the bottom of my cup! Very nasty. I will say the burger was amazing but now I'm wondering how much hair I ingested. It sucks because I feel like discovering an employees used gum wrapper in a water glass I waited forever for might warrant a free meal. Would not come back unless I ordered the Cowboy Burger to go. read more
