Came from Sacramento to the aquarium and looking for a good southern food to eat after the tour and we came here to Deja Blue The service was really amazing! Mr Derryl was so welcoming and the staff was so friendly. Food turned out great and they had live band! Definitely coming back here just for the food and vibe!!

Coastal jazz and straight talent good music andsoul food . The ambiance is a juke joint that has a hint of a speak easy and a little bar that displays local talent quality treats when you're not expecting to hear the local talent. The service was prompt and very quick we were served and our order was placed promptly. The music is loud and soulful and was a pleasure to hear and the food looked and the food was hot and tasty. The food had the patrons happy and they displayed the silent satisfaction when your eating with your eyes and eat soul food that gives satisfaction. The crowd seemed like they had a good energy and enjoyed the music and food. And drinks

We came in to try their new weekend all you can eat breakfast/brunch. They weren't quite ready when we got there at 9, still setting out a few things so we grabbed some juice and waited a couple of minutes. We tried everything and the 2 things that stood out for us was their grits, which were excellent! Cheesy and creamy. Also they have great sausage gravy for their biscuits and gravy. Everyone there was friendly and welcoming, especially the owner Darryl! He was telling us about his plans with his new brunch, he made the grits. Its a great deal at only 20.00 per person, we'll be back! Oh, must like music as they have a DJ during brunch.

Tasty but too pricey! The flavor was great, but the portion was a little small for the price. Still, a good experience overall.

Great good, music and excellent service. We will for sure be back. There is nothing like a good southern meal! It was on point!

Not bad but could be juicier! The crust was excellent, but the chicken inside was a little dry. Service was quick, though!

The gals working the floor are working hard, the live music is great, and the catfish, yams and greens are excellent.

The 'keep it open' policy is something I appreciate but would also appreciate an itemized receipt when you close out. Here's why to keep your eye out when drinking at this establishment. 1- when you close out, it's helpful to verify what you consumed to ensure you're corrected charged. My receipt was the merchant copy and the customer copy. Itemized? Really had to ask for it. 2- the merchant copy - it asked for a tip and the total amount. When we closed out our beer and well drink, it was ~$28. Weird, right? So my thought was that they clearly charged something incorrect. 3- when there's something automatically charged, it had better be communicated to me upfront. The gratuity was automatically added and IT WAS 20%! No sign, no way to notify me that it was already added. It didn't even say so on the merchant or customer copy. On top of that, the copy asked for AN ADDITIONAL TIP. For something like that, I had better get great service. 4- The service here is spotty at best. There's usually one bartender for the often busy bar. Not a problem, usually. But with that high of a price, better serve your customers well and have a fully stocked bar. 5 - the options were lacking. Two things you'd think would be stocked but weren't - espresso (come on, even Kahlua) and apple liqueur for an espresso martini and appletini were too much to ask for, I guess. Overall, a disappointment. Good thing they have the vibes nearly right. But awful business practices.

On this day filled with live performances featuring a variety of music genres, Wrockinfoose ended the night with great rock tunes to keep the crowd engaged and in good spirits. Some kept it moving on the dance floor, with others relaxing in their seats simply enjoying the sounds of the band on stage while spending time with loved ones. The balcony level was not open on this special occasion. But the first floor's comfy theater folding seats, with velvety cushions, were of decent quality. And the ornate details and artwork on the auditorium walls and ceiling made the place look like a castle from the inside. It was a lovely setting for an exciting countdown to the new year, and altogether we had a delightful experience.

The bouncer to the left told them to be quiet but they didn't listen. They had been distracting for most of the show but I wish the workers took it more seriously. There were many of us that kept gesturing for them to keep quiet and nothing changed. If they didn't listen to the bouncer and it kept happening, they should have just kicked them out. This kind of dampened my experience since there is no management for the experience so if I'm going to go to a show and people can just do whatever, then I'd rather not go. I'll pass on this venue.

Good lighting and clear acoustics here, and performances are enjoyable from all 718 seats in the main room. For the show we attended, sponsored by Folk-Yeah, our seating was assigned & we picked physical tickets up at will-call --no electronic tickets. It felt relatively small and well organized for a concert venue. Wine is sold in non-spillable sippy cups, a smart, practical detail. For our show, the merchandise line spilled out the front door and moved slowly. More than enough bathrooms at the venue. Entertainers, artists, musicians, comedians and others adore visiting Carmel by the Sea and the Monterey Peninsula. The venue maximum is about 700 guests in the main theater and 50 for the studio 105 shows. So not overwhelming crowds, thank goodness. Many outdoor patio shows and big screen theater movies are complimentary, to all. As volunteers, we work usually less than 4 hour shifts and see the shows, for free.
