The Getaway is a charming, cozy lakefront restaurant with nice views of Lake Como. There is outside seating if you prefer, as well as bar seating. The server was welcoming, friendly and attentive. The cocktail and wine menu has lots of good choices. As a pescatarian I appreciated having salad and fish options, although there are plenty of options for meat lovers. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Not accurate- only ADA service dogs allowed
    Angelyque L.

For any dog owners this establishment says dogs allowed however no emotional support dogs are allowed and the front hostess will explain the FDA regulations for what is considered a therapy dog. Understandably the establishment has the right to serve whomever but it would be best to clarify this for future owners so it does not confuse the general public. Thank you! See photo referenced from the establishments Yelp page attached.

The getaway is a cute house on the lake with some great food. The views of the lake we had were beautiful. Our waitress was very attentive as well. First off, the appetizers?! Yummm. We had mussels (the broth was to die for) and the goat cheese and honey (a sweet treat). The salads were delicious too, with croutons made of crispy fresh bread. Now onto dinner, I had the shrimp Diablo, and my mother had the fried shrimp dinner. It seems like this place knows how to do seafood, that is a fact! And the shrimp Diablo was the perfect amount of spice. I didn't have to chug half of my water while eating it! definitely give this place a try if you love seafood, views or just a cute place for a date night.

We have been to the Getaway for breakfast and it has always been great but this was our first experience for dinner. We made reservations at 6pm for our anniversary with another couple. We requested a seat by the window for the lake view. We arrived at 5 and wanted to grab a drink. The bartender was very busy filling orders for the restaurant but he was still kind and attentive. We grabbed our drinks and headed down by the lake. The back patio with all the different levels is a great space to hang and be by the water. We headed up around 5:45 and the hostess was very kind and they said our table was ready. We were very pleased with our table and they were able to accommodate our request with a great corner table right at the window. Our server was very busy but again took care of us. I specifically liked that she stayed calm and just took care of everyone the best she could. While I respect servers that run around like crazy trying to cover everything, it can make the dining experience awkward. Her being calm thru the chaos, made us feel all was good. Our apps came out, we got the crab cakes and the bread and oil. I highly suggest both. The crab cake was meaty and not all bread crumbs like you can get other places and the bread was sooooo good. Our dinners were next, at the table we got the tuna steak, halibut, prime rib and linguini and clams. All wonderful and cooked perfectly. The halibut was in the top 5 fish preparation and taste I have had. The side of the night was the garlic mashed, I highly suggest. We didn't do desserts because we were just too full. We will definitely be back and highly suggest.

Such a beautiful spot on the lake with just as great food and drinks! We got a nice seat by the water and enjoyed our cocktails and appetizers. I started with the spicy margarita, and this was one of the better ones I've had! So fresh with a nice kick to it. I also had the rhubarb rosé, which was an interesting refreshing spritz. We got the oysters and mussels to start, and both were huge! The oysters were the biggest I've seen and still super fresh tasting. The mussels were in the most delicious spicy sausage broth. We were so full after just the appetizers but also had the fish fry- this cod was so tenderly flakey and of great quality. My Caesar salad was a little too drenched but everything else was spectacular. Loved this cute place!

We stayed at the French country Inn and this restaurant is attached. We ate dinner and breakfast here. Ambience is great as you can see from the pictures. If I had one request, it would be that they had outdoor lights fixed down toward Lake Como do you can enjoy the view while you eat at night. Great service and large portions for both meals.

Prime rib was perfect, rare as ordered, and our waitress Kim was awesome. Dinner was served within 15 minutes of ordering. Live music and ambiance was perfect!!

Service was excellent The menu has a wide variety that makes it is easy for a big group to find something they like. The view is wonderful. Outdoor dining or cocktails on the lake is very relaxing. They also take reservations for a large group!

We dined at The Getaway on a Monday night. There was supposed to be live music that night but they cancelled due to illness. This was not the fault of the restaurant and was the only flaw in the evening. We arrived before our reservation to have a couple drinks at the bar. Bartender Jason was friendly and knowledgeable and recommended the perfect glass of wine for my husband and I. We were then seated by Gwen who had a lovely sense of humor and we were served by David. Food was delicious, cooked properly and fairly priced for what you got. We finished the evening in the bar with Jason who made me a fun smore style after dinner drink. We will be back next time we're in the area.

They have lovely floor to ceiling windows overlooking the golf course and we were lucky enough to be seated right next to them so we had a view. There was a mix of dress wear, some people coming right from a round of golf and others more dressed up, it's definitely 'higher end' feel. Our waitress was lovely, very informative and patient when it came to food & wine selection (a really great wine menu!). We ordered Oyster Rockefeller, the steak special and the scallop meal. The Rockefellers were delicious, it's always one of my favorite things to order! The scallops were cooked nicely, but the dish overall was lacking some flavor. Thankfully it had the pancetta in in it which helped elevate the meal. The steak was cooked to perfection, very tender and flavorful. The convenience of the experience is what truly made the night for us, paired with the good wine & good food we would certainly eat here again when we stay on property.

Celebrating Love, Suffering Through Dinner: Hunt Club Steakhouse Fails When It Matters Most…read more Anniversaries are sacred. They're the one night a year you splurge a little, dress up, and expect the restaurant to hold up its end of the bargain. Hunt Club Steakhouse couldn't hold up its end of anything. My wife and I arrived to celebrate twelve years of marriage. We left counting the minutes until we could get out the door. From the jump, the evening felt like an afterthought. We were tucked into a small side room -- four tables, terrible acoustics, voices ricocheting off every wall. When I asked to be moved to the main dining room, the answer was no. Those tables, we were told, were reserved for larger parties. Except the main room was full of couples. Just not us. Then came the waiting. Drinks: ten minutes. Rolls and butter -- rolls and butter -- took over twenty. Our entrées took over an hour. Our waitress apologized a few times early on, which was appreciated -- but somewhere around the 45-minute mark, she stopped coming by altogether. Out of sight, out of accountability. Meanwhile, tables seated well after us received their full entrées and were eating through their meals before ours ever arrived. Not a quick turnaround -- significantly faster service, start to finish. When I finally voiced my frustration, a staff member stopped me mid-sentence, promised they'd let us enjoy the meal first and then address my concerns. What actually happened? The check arrived instead. Then every person in sight -- waitress, host, anyone -- vanished. We paid and walked out without a single acknowledgment. As for the food: the steaks were underwhelming -- poor cuts, little flavor, nothing that justified the price or the wait. The mac and cheese was decent, perfectly fine, forgettable. We added lobster only to find a small handful of pieces scattered across a plate meant for two or three people -- a genuinely insulting portion. The one bright spot? The Brussels sprouts. Genuinely delicious. Truly. I wish I could say the same about anything else. Hunt Club Steakhouse had one job on our anniversary: don't ruin it. Poor food, chaotic pacing, vanishing staff, and zero follow-through on their own promise to make it right. This is not a restaurant that respects its guests -- especially not on a night that actually matters.

One of the best restaurants in the Lake Geneva area is a hidden gem on the upper level of the resort, Ristorante Brissago. My wife and I made a reservation for Sunday evening to celebrate my birthday. We were greeted at the door by the hostess. We asked if we could get a table by the window and she graciously accommodated our request. Our server, Tanya, greeted us and asked if we wanted to start with a bottle of wine, or cocktail. After a brief review of the menu we decided to start with a beer. My wife had a Peroni, Nasto Azzurro and I chose the New Glarus Spotted Cow. The bus server brought us a basket of warm bread, olive oil, and shredded Parmesan to get us started. Tanya returned and we decided that a cold night warranted a hot bowl of Minestrone Zuppa soup. The soup was made with vegetables , pasta shells, parmesan, broth , and pesto. A great start that brought the right amount of warmth to the beginning of our meal. Tanya was exceptional. She checked on us periodically and did not rush us to order the next course. I mention this because a lot of restaurants have adopted a policy to seat you, feed you, and rush you out the door. Thank you Tanya and staff for understanding that dining out is an experience to relish and take your time to relax and cherish good food and company. For our entrees I was deciding between two dishes and Tanya suggested the Roasted Branzino. It was prepared with a Potato Fennel Puree, Pomegranate Beurre Blanc, Orange Herb Gremolata. Perfection. It was the most flavorful fish I've eaten in many years. Thank you Tanya for your expert opinion. Bravo! My wife ordered the chicken cacciatore. Her dish was prepared with Roasted Cornish Hen, Cacciatore Sauce, Roasted Potato, Chives. Lighting doesn't always strike twice. Her chicken and potatoes were a bit under cooked. The presentation was beautifully executed; however the dish was good, not great. For dessert we were debating between an espresso martini when another cocktail caught my eye, the creamsicle martini. Amazing martini. It was strong, flavorful, and garnished with a slice of orange. Best cocktail on the menu. Wonderful, sublime, and tasty. Tanya surprised us with a slice of New York cheesecake with a candle and a Happy Birthday placard made with chocolate. Thank you. The cheesecake was amazing. Thick graham cracker crust and a rich New York cheesecake drizzled with Carmel and a side of whip cream, blackberry, blueberry, and strawberry. WOW. Loved it!
