This is a lovely park that feels out of the way if you're coming from Parkdale, because of the way…read moreit's tucked under an industrial area. It's recently been redone, so everything is in great condition. It's got a lot of pathways lined with plants and grassy areas to wander around. While I wouldn't necessarily describe it as a sculpture garden, there are a number of pieces. Since going to art galleries and museums has fallen on a spectrum from impossible to ill-advised, Borden Park's sculptures gave me a chance to see some art while I'm in Edmonton. The centerpiece of Borden Park is the natural swimming pool. Unfortunately, this is closed for the 2020 summer season. More importantly, the washrooms are also closed for the season. If you have a strong bladder and/or are prepared to pop a squat somewhere (there are plenty of trees and bushes for privacy) there are lots of nice picnic areas. You already have hand sanitizer with you, right? There are some very cool looking playground structures, which are open. There are groups of tables of various sizes, some of which are wheelchair accessible, as well as ample grounds for picnics while conforming to social distancing guidelines. There's a save-on-foods on the other side of the parking lot in case you don't want to carry picnic foods from home.

The park itself is nice. Lots of space so everyone can have room to themselves. Worst part of the…read morepark is the pool. Very unorganized, you have to get up and leave at the end of every session, there's no clear instructions as to how you line up. A big mix of people who booked a spot and drop-in swimmers but no way to efficiently sort them. So it's slow for people who have a spot booked, and frustrating standing in line.

We came here for a birthday party and they had a great setup- room with plates and cups, pizza party package, with juice and pop. And a card loaded with tokens for the arcade games. They have a nice food area with plenty of seating and it's a little set away from the main play area which if you want a little space and break from the noise it's a nice respite. A good selection of snacks from fruit and veg to pizza, coffee and slushies. High chairs available too. Onto the play area! Wow so many cool spaces! I love the little hidden ninja monkey bar zone, the upstairs soccer area was a huge hit for my boys, along with the super big climb and silver slide- the challenge to get up there with the rock climbing style holds is epic that even the adults wanted a try! There is also a trampoline zone and tunnels and paths everywhere. So it's easy to lose your kid in there! The projector zone with the animated animals was a neat concept and I liked that it was a room all on its own. Next time I'd love to do the coloring activity where you can add your animal to the scene. But I also noticed that they do a good job keeping the areas tall and wide enough for an adult to follow their little human around without having to super crouch the whole time. There is also a super swing which looks interesting but both my kids were too nervous to give it a try. Maybe next time! There is a nice little toddler zone that's pretty smack in the middle of the whole area, so great if you have a little one you need to watch while the older ones run around. And the staff notice when big kids start invading the little kid zone and while we were there they did several conscientious announcements shooing the big kids out of the toddler zone- thank you and I appreciated that so much having a little one myself!

Makes you wonder how much longer will last, like should these kids be walking over it or crawling over? Arcade is nothing special and their redemption prizes are a joke. Chuck e cheeses has better redemeption prizes at a reason ticket price. Half of the arcade games were not working. Party room was not stocked with utsenils so i had to run down to the cafe and take forks from.

Tonight I sat way too long in the lineup at Peter's, so naturally I thought of this location on my way home. It was super windy and quite chilly tonight. I debated just looking at the lake from the vehicle but I wanted to see what birds were out there. So I had a fast eating kind of picnic while watching the geese at the lake, checked out the playground to see if it's worth bringing the nephews and nieces (definitely cool!) and just enjoyed watching the sun set from different angles. It's a large park with the road dividing the off leash area from where the playground is. Trees look to be the boundary to the gold course further back in the park. If you're looking for well set up group spaces for picnics that are family friendly, I'd recommend this location. Lots of parking too. Oh

This park is OUT OF THIS WORLD!…read more There are so many playgrounds here, it is easy for me to get lost! TONS of parking, at least 5 separate playgrounds including - toddler playground, big kid playground, rock wall/climbing and rope course play ground, HUGE spray park, and a freaking monkey bars playground... that's right, I said a monkey bars playground with more than 20 different types/styles of monkey bars. This park is INSANE - if you haven't been here, you NEED to come. Get up, right now and go! So pray tell, why am I only giving 4 stars rather than 5 stars? Well... Okay, compared to my family's personal have spray park, this park does not offer concessions, is not staffed during all open hours, and has a lake that little ones could run off to quickly and possibly get wet or be in a dangerous situation. So... If coming here with only big kids that you trust not to go in the lake or run out in the parking lot, then this park may become your very favourite. If you are like me with two kids under 6, this park requires a 1:1 ratio of adults to children to be certain of safety. I will most definitely be coming back here again and again and again!

There are traditional swings and slides. There is sand. There is also an impressive spray park. It will be a new favorite of ours. Easy to find parking. There were bathrooms available but quite far away. I could not see any water fountains near by. Why not 5 stars? It is so big that I had a tough time keeping track of my little kids. My radar isn't fast enough. When they get older then I can see this being perfect. Also, not much to do with your child if your child isn't good with walking.

BUT when it comes to green space and outdoor activities, they have excelled in making this area great for everyone. The redevelopment of the park is no exception. Before the renovation, this park was 'meh' at best. Too much sand, old wooden playground sets, swings...the typical stuff you would expect to see. But after a year-long renovation this park has become a hot spot for kids and parents. Just take a look at the pictures I posted! This place is amazing. Makes me wish I was 4 foot 1 again! The spray park area is awesome! Slides, water diversion trenches and tons of fountains. Then you move into the rock area which is als as awesome. Then as you pan right some more you have this rope tower mountain that looks like something Spiderman would have webbed for a bad guy. Once you get to the top of this 3 storey structure, you fly down a tube slide that makes kids scared. LOL And it doesn't end there. Now you have this cool park area with multiple slides, climbing areas and other stuff. Then when you thought you had enough, venture on their pirate ship and THEN finish off on a swing....*panting*...ya if your kids don't get wiped out from a day here, there is something wrong with them. What makes this park even better is that the surface is completely cushioned. No sand! The only things I do not like about this place - the public bathroom is locatesd in the ice rink north of the park. SIgns are terrible but there is a bathroom somewhat close by. Secondly, there needs to be a coffee kiosk on site. Ice cream is represented, coffee...nope. So take your kids here! Bring a cooler, drinks, blankets, food. You can have a fantastic afternoon with your children at this park.
