We got one turtle to try, one peanut butter fudge, an original caramel apple, pecan caramel apple, gourmet apple and a cookies and cream caramel apple. $50.44. The pecan caramel, gourmet and the cookies and cream was too much for me. Hard to cut and eat up the more items there are on the apple. The caramel apple is enough work to cut it up to divide as it is. The turtle was okay, wasn't my thing and fudge tends to be too much after a tiny finger tip morsel, but the peanut butter helped to cut down on the chocolate fudge overload some. They staff will work to oversell you. Buy 3 apples and get a 4th free. Buy 3 turtles and get the 4th free. I get why my cousin always ends up spending so much here when she comes down now. read more

The fishery is a fudge and desert establishment in Destin Florida in the very popular and crowded harborwalk village. Me and my family on vacation decided to do a dolphin tour and the starting point was on the harbor walk village right across from the fudgery. It was about 5 min our boat was to dock when we both realized that the one year old hadn't eaten anything in awhile because she slept through our lunch a bit earlier. So realizing we was gonna be on the water for a few hours I made a mad dash to find something quick, no line and snackish for a one year old. Everything around is big food establishments so I make a bee line for the fudgery. I walk up and look really quickly at the delicious options and just go with a a big piece of rocky road fudge. They did have all kinds of tasty looking options that I wouldn't have mind to try. Some looked real good. The fudge cost almost $11 (holy tourism price hikes Batman). The workers were friendly and quick. I didn't even have to ask them to rush because I was playing beat the clock. I made it back with 2 min to spare and the baby was very happy with her fudge snack. So was the rest of the kids who also grabbed some bites. Overall it will be a fun memory. While I didn't spend much time or sample the menu much I can say they are super expensive compared to other fudge places. Which is to be expected in a hot spot tourist place. They had a large selections and the workers from my brief interaction were friendly and Efficient. Maybe I'll come back some day without the time restraints. read more

Walked in and it was very crowded. People were standing everywhere, no lines so it was very confusing to see where I was supposed to get my ice cream. (Whether I was supposed to go to cashier first or the glass window and get my ice cream.) The young female worker at the register was hesitant to take my order (assume I was supposed to go to the glass first, not register) and then she walked to the male worker who was making the waffle cones to get one for me. He looked back and rolled his eyes at me then told the other customer who he was making that cone for that I "took her cone" so she glared at me the whole time. Nestled neatly in the Harbor Walk is the Fudgery. This place is not something to walk by. We were looking for something sweet to get for the kids and something that would transport well. This place is like hitting the fudge jackpot!! Walking in, your nose is immediately greeted with the sweet, chocolate aroma of fresh fudge being made in these Huge copper cauldrons. At the center of the shop was this expansive glass showcase with these award-worthy confections the likes I've never seen. There were countless flavors of fudge, fudge dipped marshmallows, and other treats. We ultimately decided on two of their fudge-dipped rice crispy treats on a stick. These things were massive and coated in mini M&Ms. For ourselves we decided on their fudge turtles... or as we called them, fudge tortoises. These things were packed in chewy caramel, pecans, and coated in their marvelous fudge. So great. The caramel was so fresh and delicious. It didn't stick to your teeth either. I'm not too big on fudge, but while I was down in Destin Florida, I kept passing this place on the corner of the boardwalk. It smelled delightful. Finally I decided to give in and try it. They have all sorts of different desserts. Smoothies, Shakes, Malts, Icecream, and of course Fudge. The girl at the register greeted me with a big smile on her face and offered me a sample of the rocky road fudge. It was delicious! It was rich, but not overpowering, and it melted in my mouth. I decided to get a chocolate strawberry shake. The shake was just as great; milk chocolate with strawberry drizzle and whipped cream. I stopped in twice last week and was always warmly greeted and helped by the girls at the register. They were patient while I debated on which item I was going to get from the case, were friendly, and actually had manners which is rare for people these days. Service matters to me. It should be recognized when it is good because it is hard to come by. Also, the fudge looked great. I didn't want to gain any weight so I passed on it but sure wish I had gotten some to take home. This place was awesome. It is pouring rain out, in buckets, and we were there after hours, and they had just closed. One of the employees saw the 9 of us standing outside their door, so he unlocked the door and asked if we were trying to get out of the rain or looking for something else. We said we had wanted yogurt, but they were closed. He then proceeded to keep the door unlock and let us all in stating, " who am I to be a party proper." We all went inside and got yogurt, paid and promptly left. They were great, and we were in and out within 5 minutes. They have loads of different fudges( one sf), candied apples, smoothies, milk shakes and froyo. The frozen treats area consists of yogurt, gelato, and a custard. We went to the frozen yogurt bar and decided on a cup of strawberry cheesecake frozen yogurt with banana gelato with peanuts and pecans. They have a table with lots of fruit, candy and nuts for toppings. The prices are about average for a boardwalk. Our cool treats were pretty sweet, but of course good and cold. When you walk in, there's a sign posted asking that you sanitize both hands, then there's "x" on the floor every 6 ft. They are serving the toppings as requested reducing risk of contamination. These safety precautions take time, and should be appreciated. But when you have people breathing on others in line & then cut the line and the cashier checks them out first, instead of those of us who patiently waited over 10 minutes for a sprinkled marshmallow. I walked in with no intention of buying anything -just to look around for a couple minutes. Little did I know I'd be in there for 30 minutes interacting with the employees and other customers! When I arrived, the "Extraordinary Fudge" was being made by two guys singing and smiling. One of the guys announced to the entire shop that if we played along, we'd get to sample chocolate. So while the chocolate was cooling, we all played and talked with the kids and adults. The workers had made up a jingle for the shop. By the end, we had sampled the fudge and loved it. This experience helped make that day the best of our vacation. Prices are just what you would expect, but the fudge is really good. I don't really like chocolate, but even I bought a piece of the fudge called "Extraordinary Fudge." My friend got ice-cream with toppings and she loved it. I had to cut my kids off and they only got half a bowl. I watched to see if the weight scale was set to tare when cups placed on top and it was not. We came for the frozen yogurt on a very hot day but soon realized they only have soft serve ice cream instead. 10 self serve machines with plain flavors like vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, cheesecake, etc. all were sloppy and melty... I would have walked right out but my kids insisted they didn't mind... They filled their bowls with sloppy mess and then proceeded to add candy toppings. The end result... This place has some legit treats. When I ordered two portions of fudge and a praline, I was a bit taken aback by the price at first. However, when I realized how huge the slices were and how long they last, I decided it was probably a pretty decent value. PB fudge was good, although a tiny bit on the too-sweet side. The chocolate/nuts one was also yummy and melt-in-your-mouth soft. The shocking part was that, in all honesty, it was the praline that blew me away. I was pretty surprised, being from Louisiana, that Destin could have a praline to rival those I have had in places like NOLA, but this was a pretty great treat. Good quality fudge and froyo (prices are high as expected for a touristy area so won't complain about that) but service today was a joke. Only had one cash register working and our froyo was melted before we even got to weigh it. The register seemed overly complicated for the staff to work and they had to ask each other questions and press a lot of buttons and get codes. Not very friendly or responsive. And here's the funny part, after we already buy our froyo they tell us they're out of spoons and offer us the tiny sample spoons. They didn't apologize/compensate/discount or even tell us where we could go nearby to find proper spoons. Kinda hard to scoop up melted froyo with a spoon the size of my thumbprint. I'm sure this place has seen better days because most people seem to have had positive experiences. Probably just depends who's working or if a manager is around. read more
