The person working there was so kind and let me sample a few flavors before I decided on the banana pudding (OMG so incredible). She also recommended the brownie sundae so that's what I got and I'm so glad she told me to get that. From the very first bite, you can tell the ice cream is high quality. I stopped by here a couple of days ago with my wife and twins. We happened to be in the Village of Baytowne Wharf for the afternoon and it was hot outside when we saw Moo La La. Its location next to the playground makes sense as a beacon call for all children. The inside of this place has a fun and vibrant setup with exposed brick walls, wood beams, pendant lighting, and a big display counter full of ice cream options. There's also a seating area with metal chairs and wood tables by the windows, offering a great view of the people waking by outside. For our ice creams on this day, I decided to order a Lemonchillo milkshake while my wife went with the Pistachio Almond and both of my twins wanted the Krazy Kolors. The menu described mine as homemade vanilla ice cream and lemon sorbet hand-spun together, topped with whipped cream and a cherry; my wife's as pistachio ice cream accented with pieces of crunchy, chopped roasted almonds; and my twins' as radical red, yummy yellow, and blazin' blue vanilla ice cream with a flavor that will knock your socks off. My milkshake ended up tasting pretty good as it had a real and bright lemon flavor. While I could get some of it up with the straw, most of it was too thick and I had to use a spoon. Both of my twins seemed to enjoy the Krazy Kolors, although with all that food dye, it was definitely a mess. When I tasted it, it was definitely vanilla, but my twins insisted it had different flavors. Last but certainly not least was my wife, who loved the pistachio flavor of her ice cream and appreciated the texture from the almonds. The bottom line for me is that I might head back here again in the future. While the ice cream was good, it was expensive and it might behoove them to add a kid-sized scoop. read more

Moo La La offers 24 decadent flavors of smooth-creamy ice cream, as well as hand crafted pastries and desserts, sundaes, specialty shakes, homemade waffle cones, plus coffee, beer, and wine! We kept it simple and ordered a birthday cake sundae cup ($7.95) with homemade vanilla ice cream, peanuts, sprinkles, whipped cream, hot fudge, and topped with a cherry. I didn't try any but according to my daughter it was good, just too sweet for her to finish the entire thing. VERY typical and sad to see greed take root in a small business. I write 20 positive reviews for the rare negative review I write. In fairness, the ice cream is good here, my family has enjoyed coming here for years. The young people are efficient and even the long lines are accommodated quickly by nice people. Unfortunately, this evening an older woman prepared my malt (perhaps an owner but I don't know) and made sure to call out and make sure I was charged an extra $1.50 to the cashier. The extra charge was for the syrup to make the malt chocolate. That's just silly - it's wrong, it's mean. We won't be going back. A $9 malt is expensive enough but charging an extra $1.50 makes the price ridiculous. It's also the absurdity of the explanation as to why a premium is charged - needing to add a syrup to a malt being an addition, and that is truly bewildering. I couldn't sleep at night if I employed that kind of absurd logic to dig a bit deeper into my customer's pocket. My dad always said "pigs get fat and hogs get slaughtered" and these people operated like hogs. No Thanks! read more

I tried to buy here yesterday and left because an obnoxious older lady who worked there was being so rude to an African Americans customer that I was horrified. Further she was so caught up in arguing with them that she charged them correctly (they informed her graciously that she charged them $11 for 1 ice cream and some sprinkles) that she ignored other patrons . She would rather shout yes shout! at these poor customers over how much they owed than engage the 3 person line that formed which would generate significant revenue. Whatever happened to the customer is always right!? So I left. It was really awful. I regret not saying something so this is the next best thing.
