I think The Yard is definitely something everyone should get at least once. It is pretty pricey on paper but the portions are huge and it's something you don't see everyday! It can get pretty crowded so sometimes tables can be sparse but when the weather is nice i've sat out on the curb before.
Absolutely gorgeous works of art milk shakes. However the cheesecake was frozen solid in the picture and the milkshake was decent but like a 7/10. It was also 19 dollars... cute for an instagram picture though. Staff was relatively nice.
Talk about a food coma! My husband and I had an early, light dinner to save room for dessert. We came into The Yard around 8 pm on a weeknight and we were at first the only ones there. It gave us a chance to talk to the staff about the monthly specials. We saw them online but he didn't have prior knowledge of them in store. Since he had all of the ingredients, he was happy to make them for us. While making our shakes, a few more groups came in and ended up copying our shakes! They were as big and delicious as they look. They cost $18 each though. You do get to keep the glass; there is a washing station in the back. They have other options if you don't want a massive shake. Regular ice cream scoops are of course available. Everything was great, I would recommend!

Not too friendly, seemed like they were bothered we came in, the employee making the milkshake wasn't even friendly enough o let my son take a video of the process to make it.

Horrendous service no wonder the lines always out door the staff is annoyed, on their own time, pissed off when you have a question. I've lived here for 25 years this is my second time going never again. Go to Bruster's your moneys worth it, it's family owned, and the staff are the sweetest kids.
The Yard Milkshake Bar is such a unique place, and when I saw it on Yelp I had to try it. Ok, this is not your typical ice cream joint. It's creating ice cream ART! Take a look at my pic of the menu, and some of the options comes with a take away glass mug which they have a trough to wash your glass after you have enjoyed your treat! It took three of us to take down the Brookie Batter. It was amazing! The bottom layer was filled with ice cream, cookie dough, then layered with whipped cream and chocolate chips. To finish it off there is a brownie and cookie to make the Brookie Batter complete. If you come across The Yard Milkshake Bar on vacation, road trip, or in our area you must try this ice cream adventure!!!
This milkshake is prob one of the best milkshakes I've ever had! I got the cookie dough and there was an insane amount of cookie dough inside the shake! I highly recommend! I'm sad I haven't come sooner. It's prob my biggest regret. They were playing like millennial hits when I went so there was a lot of nostalgia there as well. I love it and I'll def be back!
Prices are absurd. Workers were not friendly at all. (8/1/25). A milkshake and two flavors in a jar ($34). In a tourist area. Oh well. At least get friendly workers. The shop is clean.
Stopped in here late on a Wednesday evening! It was crazy crowded, but the line moved at a decent pace. I was unsure what to order, but decided on the Pineapple Upside Down Bowl due to seeing it was the special for June, plus it looked yummy! After ordering we got our ticket and waited. They got the order out fast, but speed never trumps accuracy! The Pineapple Upside Down wasn't anything like the description mentioned. It was simply a pretty bowl with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, a scoop of cookie dough, and a pineapple and cherry for garnish. The description mentioned a pineapple drizzle and pineapple cake which were absent from mine. It was so crowded, I didn't even bother getting back in line to let them know. The ice cream was good just not what I expected from the description! As far as the workers, everyone I saw was working extremely hard. The only thing was they were working so hard there was little to no crowd interaction. No one greeting as customers walked in and I never noticed any of the workers smiling. I get it though, like I said, it was extremely crowded so maybe that led to the lack of customer service. Nonetheless, I'll more than likely give this place another try when we visit again.

Nothing extremely special but a fun and clean place to have a good desert after a long day on the beach or hanging around. Many options, from super complicated to scoop in a cone or cup. Service is good, fairly quick. We have come the last two years during vacation. If we come again next year, it's tradition.

Delicious and Fun deserts. This was the second time I visited the Yard. The first time I came in the heat of summer vacation and the line to order was 1 hour long and we left because we could wait that long for desert and with little kids. The second time I came, there was no line and we were able to order one desert that we split. The deserts are like artwork and so filling, it's definitely shareable. So glad we didn't have to wait this time around. Very low key with MANY options. Totally fun to eat for a special treat when visiting Destin, FL
Milkshake Alert!!!!! Was looking for a nice dessert after dinner and stumbled onto the Yard Milkshake Bar, all things milkshakes. Yard Milkshake specializes in unique milkshakes that are not only delicious, they combine flavors you don't usually see. After viewing the awesome menu we went with a strawberries and cream cheesecake milkshake. We ordered the large and came with a souvenir glass jar. Milkshake was delicious and They gave a station to clean your jar to take home. A very popular dessert place so be prepared to see lots of families throughout the day. Prices were reasonable and shop was very clean. Yard milkshake bar was a delicious dessert and would definitely recommend you check it out. read more
We took the kiddos here on a rainy night. This ice cream was really good. My son specifically loved the coffee ice cream. He said he wished he could eat that specific kind every single day. The menu looked amazing. There were all different kinds of ice cream, cookie dough, milkshakes. They had small, medium, and large choices. read more

I give it a 3 because I don't like ice cream and high calorie deserts. LOL But my kids and husband do! It amazes me how they put these things together and the wait people will endure to get them. It's nice they have a couple of seats available outside and an area people can wash out their mason jars when finished. Those are a good keepsake! It's got a decent atmosphere and good music to listen to while you wait. read more
Sooo I've been wanting to go to this place for awhile but I didn't think my first time would be in Destin. In fact, I had no idea there was one here until on vacation I did a quick run to Publix. Coming out of the grocery store I'm looking directly at the milkshake bar with giddiness. We planned to go on our last day in Destin as a special treat. Our group had 6 people and we got 5 different items. 3 specialty shakes, 1 two scoop cup, 1 float. My son and I shared but then we ended up eating what others couldn't finish. I got a lot of info from reviews prior to our visit thankfully. Pros: everything we tried was good, novelty items are super fun, large variety to choose from, able to create your own ice cream, cool keepsake from the mason jar, you're told to scan the QR code for the menu, wash station available to clean your jar as well as bags to put them in Cons: if it's your first time I feel like more personal instructions would be helpful than being told to scan a QR code--we waisted money because two of my kids would have been just fine with the bowl because they could care less about the jar, the rainbow brownie was meh- could have done without the brownie batter, more frequent cleaning in between customers would be nice They have more to offer than shakes and I feel like there's a missed marketing opportunity here. All in all I'm glad I finally made it and I'd come back to try a different flavor. Check 'em out, I mean where else are you gonna get cheesecake with your shake??? read more

We received excellent customer service. Its a blessing to see so many people comnecting with the little people and finding them great options. The location was clean, yes very busy but its a smooth transition and plenty of room for all to sit close to once another. Thank you so much for a fun experience and a unique vibe. read more
Stopped in today. It was a cold Saturday and off season so there was NOBODY in there. What a treat!!! There was so many options it was overwhelming. We decided to share a specialty milkshake. We got the cookies and cream worm milkshake. It appeared it came with a cookie dough pop - which was so good!! Total was about $18 something for the one milkshake. A bit pricey but I will say it was so delicious we will probably come back. I will say that it was better than some other milkshake places in the area!!! read more

These were soooo delicious! The shakes are massive and I definitely could not finish it all. Next time I would definitely get a bowl instead of a shake. Very messy!! I would not recommend eating in a vehicle read more
If you're in the mood for a really decadent dessert while visiting the sunny climes of the Florida panhandle - the Yard is a must stop. They have a pretty amazing selection of milkshakes - just go to their website for an eye popping offering of delicious shakes - the service is great - they were very helpful making suggestions - if it wasn't hard enough to make a choice - there's cookie dough - yep, cookie dough! Salted Caramel Chip - nuff said!! They do have a patio, which surprisingly was cooler than inside the shop - fortunately the service repairman was on the job - hopefully it will be fixed by the time we come back in July! read more

It was absolutely disgusting inside and outside. All the inside tables were dirty with ice cream and chocolate, trash, etc. The outside area was sticky and coated with spilled ice cream that you could clearly tell has been there for a long time. Flies everywhere. Inside, one of the toilets overflowed and was pouring all over the floor for at least 10 minutes before staff took initiative to even look at it. We were sitting in a back table and all of a sudden there was water all around us. We've been to other locations and this by far was the worst. In addition, it was very understaffed for the traffic. The door was revolving. The employees were very slow. They honestly moved like sloths. The ice cream itself was okay. One of the glass pints was melted before we even sat down. read more

This is a cute little ice cream place. The people are friendly and the ice cream is good, not to mention so much fun! There's also a station to clean out your souvenir jars to take home. It is a little pricey but still a great dessert spot. So yummy!! We each had 2 scoops - banana pudding + triple chocolate and salted Carmel brownie + triple chocolate with chocolate syrup. Both were delicious!! Would definitely return. read more
I was pleased to learn that you can get just a scoop of ice cream if that is all you desire. This place makes fun shakes and sundaes and you can take the glass mason jar with you. They even provide a washing station to clean it off before leaving. This location was a bit warm for our liking (and the workers) which was surprising given it's an ice cream shop. read more

So many great options to choose from in ice cream and the fun decorating cups. My favorite was cake batter and three big scoops in a cup was 8$ even if u got a cone. Some of the designed cups were Instagram worthy. Great place to come if out of town treat for tourist. Just have to wait some regardless. Definitely recommend for family or date night. read more
