    Cheese powdered boneless chicken
    Allison B.

There was a pretty long period that I was addicted to garlic butter fries from this restaurant that I could just only order the fries and thats everything. Otherwise, the cheese powdered boneless chicken is a yum yum option if you are cheese lover like me, soy garlic one is also good

This is for delivery Since we were ordering on a busy night, the soy garlic chicken ($20.99 for small) took a while to be delivered, so it wasn't as crispy and was warm on arrival. In my heart I knew giving it seven minutes in the toaster oven would really help, but we were really looking forward to the greasy eats so tucked in anyways. While I do enjoy my fried bird plain, the lightness of the sweet soy blended with garlic was delicious and really helped give the chicken flavour without adding a heavy glaze. In general, Korean fried chicken is lighter to begin with. The batter is just a coating of flour, so it doesn't soak up as much oil and isn't as greasy. The Fry cuts up the half bird into smaller pieces so you can pick and choose the cuts to your preference. For me, I like to pick at the bones, which is complimented by my husband who enjoys big nuggets of boneless white meat. I knew I met my perfect match: he leaves the flavourful pieces for me and is opened to indulging in fried chicken late at night. Little did we know the chicken arrives as a "combo" with a can of Coke and a container of lightly pickled sweet daikon, which really helps cut through the grease. That light acidity and freshness helped to balance off the side of fries ($5.99 for small), which was surprisingly hotter and crispier than the chicken. Despite being a "small" order, there was a lot of fries and the spuds were also coated with flour to give it that extra crunch - sort of like the ones you'd find at Taco Bell and Costco, excepted jazzed up with a light dusting of green onions. I loved that The Fry uses paper-based containers for delivery. And if you want a fully plastic-free experience, skip the pickled turnip (with the fried chicken) and the ketchup (with the fries) in your order.

This is a small and cozy Korean restaurant on Younge street that offers late night deep fry chicken and beer. We got there late and our group already started eating. The ordered some green onion chicken and boneless chicken, some deep fried seaweed. The chicken pieces are well battered and the juice is well kept inside. The flavor is marinated in the skin, when you bite into it, you can taste the flavor underneath the skin. The crunchiness for each piece is very addictive, I couldn't help but to keep eating. However, it's very dark inside of the restaurant, you can hardly see the menu. There are a couple of booths for groups of 6, but if there's more people, you can also pull the table together on the side to accommodate more people. A lot of Parking spots are right outside, very empty especially in the evening. There are lots of people coming in and out, and I can tell it's a popular space with lots of regular customers. Overall, the fried chicken pieces are not disappointed at all, it deserves its name!

Never been to any of the other locations. In fact we did not even know they had so many locations til we read the menu and it showed the other places. The ambiance is good in a car like setting. The background music was not blaring so we were able to hold conversations without screaming. The appetizers (free refills) and butter corn (one time) was very good. We ordered their signature fried chicken with original and soy sauce. It was very tasty and not dripping with grease and oil. The portions were quite large so one order was enough for three of us. It was probably because we could not handle too much fried stuff in one sitting. Maybe we will try the noodles next time. Very enjoyable experience and service was very good! Should give it a go!

Great place to have fried chicken with friends. Usually The Fry is a tab bit more on the expensive side. My friends and I shared rice cakes, a whole fried chicken, half with spicy and half regular plus yogurt soju. The sides that came with it were really good, I enjoyed them. The rice cakes were a bit odd for me, they tasted weird (due the the cheese they used - I'm not sure what kind it was) and so it gave me a weird aftertaste. As for the chicken, I found it to be alright as I have had better chicken elsewhere. The yogurt soju is something I assume they make in-house and I found it refreshing to have with the food.

Came here last week because it was one of the places open late with food we wanted to eat. Went with a group of people, it wasn't too busy on a weekday night. We ordered multiple flavors of fried chicken and the spicy chicken with rice cakes. The portions were good for sharing! They also give you corn and sides with the chicken! I know this is going to be a personal preference, but I really wanted some rice with my meal. If you're like me at all, order take out and make rice at home because they don't have any for you to order!

Spicy chicken and green onion chicken

This restaurant is a little gem. The food, service and ambiance were all great! We ordered a small boneless chicken with green onion and the spicy boneless chicken and the portions were gigantic, I believe a small portion is an entire chicken and a large is 2 chickens. I wish I had known that before I had ordered. The restaurant is small but we didn't have to wait. We were seated right away and brought water and some complimentary appetizers. We got a side dish of some sizzling corn, and then a salad platter which consisted of a green salad, some pickled radish and some coleslaw. The chicken was a beautiful heaping portion of fried goodness. The green onion chicken was flavourful and crispy but didn't feel greasy. The spicy chicken was very spicy. I could only manage a few pieces. The radish and salad helps to cool down your mouth a bit, but the flavour is amazing. The value is really good considering the portion sizes and free side dishes. Our meal came out to around $40 or so but could have easily fed 3-4 people. The restaurant itself is dark and trendy, there's loud music playing in the background so it's not a good place for a quiet meeting. It's a small restaurant, there are only about 10 tables. There's free parking in the lot out front but it likely gets full during peak times. The service was good, everything came out quickly and we had no issues getting refills on the salads or water, especially considering our waitress might have been the only one waiting on customers. Overall, I can't wait to try more items, maybe some side dishes, the rice cakes look good, and maybe a different flavour of the chicken!

Small, cozy location. This was round two for 4 people after dinner. Ordered a combo with boneless chicken and a pitcher of beer. Also had garlic fries, which we didn't enjoy at all because it was sweet rather than savory. The corn was a bit disappointing, like watery rather than stringy cheesy... Didn't taste as good as it looks. The KFC itself was really good. It really satisfied the cravings and lured us to eat more than we thought. There was actually leftovers that one of us took home. Nice place to hangout but a bit overheated amd stuffy in the winter... I guess to encourage cold drinks to be ordered?

Food is good, chicken is good and the green onion is good. Service is good and they gave us extra side dishes for free if we want more. However they are too busy sometimes Space is not enough. Too small and they try to squeeze everyone so they can get an extra table. They asked a party of 6 to sit in the car table for 4. We have 3 big men and 3 ladies. We had to ask for another table cause we can't even spread our arms to eat. Overall the food is good but the environment is not too good. I will rate it a 3

    monday special (small)
    O C.

This place has lots of promotions as a result of covid. Their monday special which I've had a few times is a small box of fried chicken (bone in) for $9.99. I have also asked for the sweet and spicy version, which is $2 extra (very good). My only complaint and it's a pretty serious one is that they do slip in questionable pieces in every order that are only deep fried bones (spines and rib cages). I thought perhaps it was a mistake but having come here a few times already it is not a coincidence. However, I think overall there is value and the food is very hot/fresh to order and is of course delicious when there is meat.

Many Elites seem to like the chicken here. Some are describing it as the best KFC in town! I guess I'm one of the few who didn't like it. We ordered half & half whole chicken ($27.99) which came with few appetizers (pictures below). Choices of sauces for half & half were plain, mild, spicy, and garlic soy. We picked mild and garlic soy. Garlic soy tasted like plain chicken. I didn't feel the garlic or the soy sauce. Mild sauce was way too mild. Service was OK. Place was loud and crowded for a Thursday night. 2 Stars = I've experienced better. At HOHT and Dakgogi. Tastier, cheaper, and more sauce varieties over there. That's where I usually get my KFC fix from.

There quite a few Korean fried chicken in the Yonge and Finch area decided to give The Fry a try. Came on a weekend for dinner. Got the half and half soy garlic and green onion. Very nice and tender meat not too much batter and the meat was moist and juicy. To those that never tried Korean friend chicken they don't just use the legs or the thighs. They use the whole chicken I think it's better that way. Also tried the corn with cheese very good and cheesy can't go wrong. I would recommend this dish. The Fry seems better than some of the other Korean fried chicken places.

I want to give 3.5 stars because service was good and attentive- but felt the flavours were lacking in the food... less corn in the dish than expected... the fries didn't come with the white sauce as seen on website... preferred the soy garlic over the taste of the original flavoured wings. A bit pricey for wings dinner - maybe there would have been a half and half deal that we missed out. Still i would probably give it another go - i did enjoy the service, servers were friendly and the patio space in the parking lot was cute with the bulb lighting! Might go later at night to take advantage of the ambiance and try the spicy wings with cheese fries... the fries itself had a good texture and bite to it!

This was first on our list, located in the Scotiabank Tower on Adelaide. We got a nice corner table, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting, not too loud but not library-like either. The music, mostly UK fare like their cuisine, played an acceptable volume that my friends and I didn't have to raise our voices. We were seated very promptly, and our server took care to attend to my friend's allergy. She even asked to change my friend's cutlery when another server brought the wrong salad. My appetizer was a hot-smoked salmon pâté, which was ok by itself, but eaten with the pickles gave it that taste I wouldn't forget. I chose for my main the Petit Roast Dinner; the cut was excellent, full of flavour and juicy to boot. The gravy for said cut just brought the roast to another level. The sides were delicious as well, especially the crispiness of the potatoes. A clean plate was the end result! Finally to finish the meal, I chose the chocolate banoffee cheesecake - I never pass on any cheesecake when it's offered. And it didn't disappoint! The banana brûlée was an interesting touch, while having toffee sauce drizzled on the cheesecake was a first (and not definitely last) for me! All in all, it was a nice introduction to The Rabbit Hole, and I can't wait to go down there again!
