OK let me start off by saying my mouth is on FIRE!! But definitely in a good way. I ordered the Nashville Hot chicken taco with a side of the blueberry habanero salsa. OMG sooo good. It's not for wimps though so don't even try it if you can't handle heat. Next in line was the jerk chicken taco with pineapple salsa. I liked it but felt I needed a lil more of a kick. I think if they just add a very small amount of salt to the salsa, it would take it over the top. That first taco is gonna be difficult to beat. Next up, Bbq jackfruit taco. This taco is yummy yummy. This could easily be my go to taco if I lived near by. The bbq jackfruit has a great bbq flavor without being overbearing. I saw online that people ordered it without the broccoli slaw. They're really missing out. It definitely elevates it but can definitely stand on its own. The chips and salsa are great as well. Not that store bought stuff. Homemade chips with a warm tomato salsa that's got the right amount of heat. Oh and the Mango Hibiscus Lemonade was good too. I wanted a lil more tartness from the lemon but overall it was good. What do you say when its all good! First please support this local restaurant especially in the Ice House/Railyard area! So many great restaurants have come and gone! This one is no different! You wont be disappointed, it is very good. This was the first time we had been there, it was fresh, the tacos were unique and quite tasty. The nachos were so filling, with queso and grated cheese, lots of chicken and al the fixins. Only reason its only 4 stars was the service. We were the only customers in there and the service was not good. I had to ask for our chips and dips after our entrees were ready. It took for ever to get our beverages and forget about refills. Service was incredible in past. Now it is not. I went to Icehouse Project tonight to go to Fried Taco... and looked up hours before... I was there considerably before 8pm. It was dark inside... so I went next door to get food. I saw at least 3 more families try to go there for food. What I did see was employees coming out from there and angrily getting plates and cutlery for Fried Taco from the shared disposal bin. This place posts about more people should frequent local places. They haven't updated the menu so I believed I was getting a drink. They also messed up on my order. I ordered pork tacos and got ground beef. I would have liked the communication before the purchase on what comes with the meal and then preparing the meal properly. We had dinner here again the other day. Great experience, like always. Brisket quesadilla doesn't disappoint. Although, now that I know they have pickled onions, I'll be adding those to it going forward. And you can't have a brisket quesadilla (or really any taco/quesadilla here) without the blueberry hot sauce. Not gonna lie, it will light you up, but cut it with some sour cream and you're golden. Chips and queso were also nice. Add a side of Puerto Rican Aso Pao chicken and rice soup and it's time to slap your momma. Love the food here. Just wish we could get outta here without spending $80 bucks lol. Staff are very friendly. Restaurant is very clean and tidy. It's very comfortable to sit, eat, and chill for a while. And there's a playground just outside for the kiddos to enjoy when it's not cold as ice outside. Give it a shot. You'll enjoy it, trust me. The kiddos are able to stretch their legs a little( in a safe space ) while the family enjoys their food. Everything was really good but lacked a little bit in the flavor department. The carne asada fries were great! But the feature of the dish - the carne asada - was just salty and lacking in the colorful spices I was expecting for carne asada. The empanadas were the table favorite! The bread was super flaky and crispy while the meat/filling inside remained perfectly moist. The beef and carne asada empanadas were both hits! Especially with the creamy dill dipping sauce. Pro tip: ask for the spicy ketchup/Mayo dip for your empanadas too! The margaritas were so refreshing. Then adding the tajin rim *YUM*. We took our daughters here for a taco date. It was wonderful. The food was good. Although, look out for the heat on the Hot Chicken Taco. Due to the perfect location of this restaurant, we were able to eat delicious tacos, drink American Solera beer, and watch our kiddo play on the Grasshopper toy in the beer garden. There were other parents there, and it was about as casual and fun as you can get with kids. Call me foolish, but I wasn't prepared for alllll of my tacos to be fried. The ambiance is great, the menu is good, the actual food, is pretty good, the empanadilla's (they call them empanadas) were ok. Prices, are okay, if the food was fantastic I'd be more happy about paying $30 for two servings of food. I ordered the nachos, and did I read what came on them which sounded great, they came out with no toppings other than the carnitas and cheese. No big deal, so I went up front to ask for sides of pico and the other stuff it was missing. She said okay but I'll have to charge you; so I gently stated that's fine but your menu said those items came on my item. She then asked the chef's in back who realized they forgot and put the very tiny sides out for me. I said thank you! and kindly asked for a bigger side and she then stated it didn't come with onions, you sure? I gave up, and ate my food, which was good but not hot. I wish I could give them a better review, but their Customer service needs some work. The staff seemed frazzled by multiple orders submitted at the same time, but two of us had to check back and wait while our order was started after the rest of the group was nearly finished eating their food. The mango lemonade is really good. I preferred the chicken taco over the brisket taco. The texture and amount of moisture with both meats is like what might come from a slow cooker. I think it would be better with smoked brisket. The elote is okay, but rather "watery" where I've had thicker/creamier I like better. We've been here several times and have had great experiences every time. This area is really fun, so we often bring the kids out for food, and they can play on the big grasshopper play equipment while we drink a couple of beers at the big seating area in front of American Solera. Mondays they have a special where if you buy an adult entrée, you get a kid's entrée for free, so we take advantage of that pretty regularly. The tacos and empanadas are always very tasty, and I really like the sauces they have. Sauces are what separate the average taco places from the very good ones in my opinion, and they have the sauce game on lock. How is this place not packed on a Saturday night?!! Was excited to try this cute restaurant located in the Ice House Project in Edmond after spotting a fellow yelper's review. Let's start with the house drinks! I tried the lavender coconut lemonade after reading fellow yelper Krystel's review. She was spot on! So yummy! My son tried the mango hibiscus lemonade and I took a sip and it was SO good, too! Onto the food. It's all fried, but it's in the restaurant's name so you know what's in store. My son had the chicken tacos- plain, and loved them. My other son ordered the chicken quesadilla and liked it. I ordered the quesadilla with Jack fruit and it was good. Nice to have a vegetarian option. We also ordered the yucca fries (we didn't care for the mayo ketchup) and the queso without chorizo. It was nice and thick. Solid chips, too. My husband ordered the Korean taco and pork taco. He said the Korean was delicious but didn't get a chance to try the pork because they accidentally gave him chicken instead. Still giving them five stars because they hired well. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable with their menu and salsas. They even let me quickly know which house drinks had dye (allergy). We finished the meal with the apple and guava empanadas. They were super fried and gooey but nice and sweet. The restaurant is designed well with cheerful decor, and has comfortable seating inside. There's lots of outdoor seating as well. It's a quaint area overlooking the IceHouse courtyard with hanging lights, oversized Jenga, and oversized checkers to keep patrons entertained while waiting. It was too hot to be out there tonight (almost 90°!) but it will be great in the fall or spring. We have enjoyed The Fried Taco at The Collective in Midtown so Imagine our delight when we saw a new location closer to where we live. We dropped on for a late lunch and were not disappointed at all. This location is in the new Ice House District and is super convenient right off 2nd Street. There's loads of parking in front and behind. We chose the white queso, mango quacamole, and a couple of tacos to round out the meal. It's all top notch and exactly what you would expect of you have visited the other location or the food truck. I really love the tacos and ambiance here. But the lavender coconut lemonade has my heart! I wish I could buy it by the gallon! While I do think the tacos are great they are pretty messy so be sure to grab extra napkins. The kid meal comes in adorable Dino taco holders. How cute and a great original touch.
