Pretty good stuff! I swung by for lunch with a friend and we tried a few of the tacos. I had the tripa, carne asada, and the barbacoa. Alll delicious! The meats were a lil greasy for me, but the tripa was on a another level. It was crispy (which I've never had like this) and it reminded me of chicharonnes. One of the best taco places in town! Here's the deal though, it's in a little grocery store, no real seating, and you need to hablar español just a little (to order). The tacos are authentic and come with a warm jalapeño. Reasonably priced, too! A little tip: Plan to get your food to go and don't mind the stares if it's your first time going there. Kitchen also looked unsavory (I would not dare to eat here). Market side fully stocked with unmoving products literally collecting dust. Door was open to the back storage room, which looked like the creepiest dungeon inside. And the men working here were very standoffish, not wanting to acknowledge our presence. Until I had questions. If you're looking to kill a craving this place will definitely do but it sure doesn't beat making a drive to the south side for some really good taco truck food. I find myself craving the asada tacos from La Perla at all hours during the day. They do something in the process of cooking the meat that no other taqueria in the greater Oklahoma City area does. It's the perfect lunch spot. Especially if you only have a limited time. They will get you out of there, and wanting more, very quickly. I'm always bummed whenever I'm too far away to stop in. Hole in the wall taco joint which is a also a small mercado. They have their own small surface lot that is shared with the rest of the strip mall, yet does not get full. Ever. no issues with parking, but the way Kelly is configured you may have to make a u-turn to get in depending on which way you come. Upon entering you'll be in the barrio mercado part, which can be off putting if you're not used to such things. Just make a left and you'll be in the diner part. The service is of the order at counter an wait style of service, and if you want a icy cold bottle of soda or oklahoma's famous 3.2 beer, just go back to the market section and snag one from the cooler(s). The cook is fast-even during the rush it'll be ten minutes or less for your order to come out. Taco's start at around two bucks and combo meals-beans, rice, all the fixin's at about 6 bucks. It's entirely possible to get a great street taco meal for less then ten dollars, which is quite the bargain as these street style tacos are simply THE BEST. Spicy, sure, but most importantly they have superior flavor that rolls onto your palate and just lingers in the most awesome way. Seating is the usual table/booth combos and while clean they are nothing remarkable in of themselves. Make sure to grab a bottle of green or red salsa from the condiments bar along with napkins and straws should you want any. They do have a small dry goods section should you need basic stuff like tomillo, comino, polvo de Chile, piloncillo or even spice mixes such as relajo. Relajo mixes aren't by any means as common as you'd think, but buyer beware they might have been on the shelf for a while.If you need calling cards, lottery tickets or to send money overseas (mexico in particular) this place has you covered. This is based purely on the food as I didn't really browse the store very much. I'm originally from Southern California and growing up on Mexican food and tacos, (especially street style), I hadn't found any Mexican restaurant around here that came close until I came here. I've only tried the carne asada tacos and they are awesome, plus cheap! It's not much for ambience, it's a grab a booth and just enjoy your food type of place, but honestly what more do you need? Really wish they were a carniceria too because I'd love to buy some carne asada or pollo to grill at home, but until then I'll be enjoying the food they serve up. It's really a hidden gem in terms of Mexican food. read more

I don't care about what this place looks like. It's a small grocery store with a little restaurant in the back corner. Reminds me of some places that I have been to in Brooklyn. I've been to more questionable spots and had great food. I ordered a few different types of tacos. Carnitas, barbacoa and tripa. They have all the makings of some great authentic Mexican food but the taste was not there, at all. I mapped this place out. We love our hole-in-the-walls and we were really excited to eat here. Its in the side of a mexican market, but the entire place is really really DIRTY. I took a glance at the kitchen and it too looked really dirty.
