First time here Working nearby. Craving Mexican food & was greeted quickly with a smile from the staff. I saw they had beer and margaritas.... Maybe next time!!! I decided whatever the server thought was best... She mentioned green enchiladas... I did chicken and it came out lightning fast and piping hot. THE Chips and salsa...so delicious & came out fast. The entire experience was great. My two items after taxes was in the $18 range.. but I didn't leave hungry. I destroyed all the decadent foods. Staff seemed to work well together and seemed happy so kudos to them for a job done well. I will return when in the area! I love the smiling masked staff! Respectfully, Bryan Yukon, Oklahoma

Taco special on a Thursday evening: 5 tacos, $6-fantastic. The ground beef surprised me with its deep flavor. June 2021.

Matachines has remained one of my favorite places in Edmond to grab tacos (or my latest Mexican craving) since 2017. My love for the folks and food at Matachines has only grown since they established this little spot in 2017. I love supporting this local Latinx LGBTQ+ owned business. Their tacos are perfect. They don't compromise on flavor or authenticity. Don't skip adding a pinch of lime and a little bit of salsa to each bite, this takes them to next level. I usually get 3 street tacos, whatever meats I'm feeling as they are all really tasty. Other menu items I love: --tortas (a Mexican sandwich with everything except the kitchen sink) --sopes --tamales (get both & eat together for deliciously cheesey bites) They can be hard to spot when driving by. They are located in the little strip mall with Aspen Coffee at 15th at Fretz. They share a parking lot with the Dental Depot. They serve food up until closing time, but if you go too late their dining room may be closed and they'll be happy to serve you a to-go order. God bless Mexican people and their food. Thank you for sharing your culture, food and love with us in Edmond, OK :) September 2021

Posole. Amazing. Get it!!!

We have visited this restaurant many times. The one thing that I loved right from the beginning was their made in house fresh flour chips & their amazing salsa!!! Endless. The best!!!! Then recently I tried their green chili posole.... And let me just tell you how amazingly delicious it is!!! Wow!!! I always get the large b/c who doesn't live leftovers!? It's that good! I get two delicious meals out of it!!! It's made with chicken not pork. The only thing that could make it better is if they had cabbage to go with it! My husband usually gets street tacos which he says are very gf! The only reason I'm not giving them 5 stars is due to the slowness of the wait staff. When there is only two tables with customers you shouldn't have to walk up to the counter for refills etc. But the food is worth going back for over & over & over again! Sorry I forgot to get pictures of the chips & salsa.

We just moved to the area so we've been exploring new restaurants, starting off with this one. I was a little surprised that we were the only ones there but I'm not complaining! The interior is very unique and pretty and the ambiance was nice. The reason I'm giving this a 3.5/5 stars is because the prices are pretty steep. $13-14 for a taco plate is crazy to me (3 tacos, rice and beans).. maybe I'm just used to the prices in Texas which were always around $9. So as much as I wanted some street tacos, I opted for the chicken flautas plate. If you order two "platters" which consists of a list with about 10 different plates, the chips and salsa are free of charge. So we did just that. Chips and salsa were great! We had mixed emotions at first but it quickly grew on it and now my husband is obsessed lol. Sweet tea as well. It's not overly sweet, tasted like real tea instead of straight up sugar. Below are the ratings for everything we ate! Beef enchiladas plate: 9/10 beef was seasoned well! Chicken flautas: 6/10 chicken was super dry/unseasoned Sweet tea: 8.5/10 Carne asada fries: 7.5/10 needs more toppings maybe onions + cilantro Chips and salsa: 9/10 chips were homemade, salsa was fresh and delish Rice and beans were fire as well! Overall we'd def come again.

We've eaten lunch here several times and are slowly working through the menu. So exciting to see dishes like Posole, Chicken Mole and Sopes on the menu! Everything is delicious from the thicker authentic chips with salsa like no other, homemade chunky guacamole to drinks like Horchata. Desserts like flan make it extra special, and if you leave without trying the Mexican Coffee, I'm sorry. Wow! Service is pleasant and always attentive! I'm so happy to see this authentic Mexican restaurant on the north side of town, especially Edmond!

Chimichanga Plate

When 3 Tequilas was closed for remodeling, we were in a scramble to find some Mexican lunch and saw this was near. It's hidden in a shopping center but well marked with signage. There was some traffic on the road leading into the shopping center and leaving which was tough - I'm not around Edmond much so this probably is typical lol we got some complimentary chips and queso. Crispy chips, okay cheese and salsa. Didn't realize guacamole was extra, since the server asked if we wanted some, but we should never assume! Ordered a chimichanga plate - was mostly the tortilla/breading and really light filling. The beans was good. But the rice was watery for some reason and just not flavorful at all. My husband ordered eggs and chorizo and it wasn't as flavorful as he hoped. As a Mexican, he did not enjoy his plate at all. It was passable for lunch but that's about it. Overall, nice service but the food was just okay.

Barbacoa street tacos

I am so sad, they closed last Sunday for good! The owner worked so hard to keep it open. I wish her all the best!

Great service and wonderful homemade chips. The place was clean but the food was just ok. More than likely will not eat here again.

Agave Azul - First visit and definitely not our last…read more We finally decided to try Agave Azul for the first time and wow... huge win. We showed up right at opening and were seated immediately -- always a great start. Elli, our server, was fantastic from the jump. Drinks came out fast and we were quickly set up with fresh chips and salsa. My wife thought the salsa could use a pinch more salt (totally personal preference), but the chips were good and addictive. We ordered the tableside Guacamole Mexicano, and that alone is worth the visit. Made fresh and packed with flavor. Pro tip: ask for everything that comes with it, and if you're feeling adventurous, add a squeeze of orange along with the lime -- it takes it over the top. Trust me on this one. I went with the lunch fajitas, served on a sizzling skillet just the way they should be. Plenty of fixings -- lettuce, pico, sour cream, rice and beans. (Next time I'll swap the refried beans -- just not my thing.) Great flavor and generous portion. My wife had the ground beef enchilada and thoroughly enjoyed it -- clean plate club. And of course... we couldn't leave without dessert. The Churros were an absolute winner. Crispy outside, soft inside, sweet and perfect for sharing. Honestly, we're just wondering why it took us so long to try this place. Great service, fresh food, and a relaxed vibe. We'll definitely be back. Highly recommend giving Agave Azul a shot!

When we walked in, an older woman greeted us right away with the sweetest smile and seated us immediately. She ended up being our hostess and was so kind and attentive the whole time. The atmosphere felt relaxed and welcoming. The menu isn't huge, but it has a good variety and the prices are very reasonable, especially for how much food you get. I'll admit I was a little unsure when I saw queso wasn't complimentary, because sometimes when you pay for it, it's not that great, can tell it's made with velveeta. But we ordered the large anyway and it was actually really good. The salsa was just right too, not too mild but not overly spicy. I ordered the enchilada platter and wasn't sure how I'd feel about the red sauce, so I also got a beef chimichanga on the side just in case I did not like the red sauce. Both were really good, and the chimichanga was way bigger than I expected, honestly a full meal by itself. My daughter got the Cowboy Quesadilla and said it was the best one she's had in a while. My husband ordered the steak fajitas and really liked them, his only comment was that the steak pieces were a little thin. Overall, everything was great. The food, the service, and just how genuinely kind our hostess was really stood out. We had a great experience and will definitely be coming back.

I had the burrito Hawaiian and it was delicious. I will be back for it, just note some might find it a touch spicy. My girlfriends all enjoyed their meals. I was disappointed in the fried ice cream, I thought the ice cream could have been a better quality and if you don't like coconut do not order because the crust includes it.
