Came here for a little brunch before the Ireland vs All Blacks rugby match. Venue was bustling with rugby fans. They provided a shuttle to soldier field which was very convenient, so perhaps they do the same for Bears games. Phenomenal service on their part. No better way to preface an Ireland win with a cold Guinness and breakfast sandwich. Food was good and beer was plentiful. Unfortunately Ireland lost.... Visited this sports themed pub for dinner on a Friday night. Surprisingly there were empty tables and could get in without a wait. We tried their jalapeño margarita and different house beer. Can work on the size of the margarita but overall drinks were good. We tried their bison burger. It was very juicy and cooked with lots of of cheese and coming with fries. Here again waiting on my train after a fantastic law school reunion (20th, gosh I'm getting old!). I generally come here during football season because they have numerous TVs showing various games. It's a fantastic spot to just chill and they don't put any table rotation pressure on the patrons. They have a few new menu items and I tried the biscuits and gravy in the morning. Moved on to a yellow curry chicken and rice for lunch which was amazing. I eventually had to leave, but kudos to the service in this fantastic sports bar. Terrific place to grab some food and beer!!! We stopped here after walking downtown and we were delighted to try this place. I ordered the spicy Italian beef and my husband ordered the cheese curds to share. Both items were absolutely delicious! The spicy Italian beef was my favorite because the meat was perfectly cooked and the dressing was flavorful so 10/10 for that. It came with a side of tots which were also delicious. The cheese curds we got were well cooked and tasty as well. I plan on returning to try some other items off their menu. When glancing over the menu I noticed a lot of healthy options that look delicious. I highly recommend coming here if you are in the area. I know I will! read more

Came in for lunch one day. Wanted a S'mores beer which they happened to be out of. Mild disappointment. Ordered a bison burger with a side of chicken curry soup. Really liked the soup it was hearty and life giving. Ended up going with an Arnold Palmer instead of the beer. Definitely want to come back and try some of the beer at some point. read more

I found this spot while looking for a late-night meal near my hotel since there weren't too many other options open. I ordered to go, and my food came out steaming hot and absolutely delicious. I got the smash burger with a side of loaded tots, and when I say it was perfect, I mean it! It looked so good I ended up eating it there lol. The smash burger comes dressed with thousand island, which I'd never had on a burger before, but it was amazing. The patty was well-seasoned, and overall, the meal completely exceeded my expectations. I was even thinking about that burger and tots the next day . The service was quick and friendly--no wait, which is always a win! I had a smoky, refreshing mango mescal cocktail, while my friend enjoyed a berry drink that was the perfect sweet-savory combo. We shared the southwestern chicken rolls, which were hot, delicious, and came with a killer dipping sauce. Good hangout especially for workers in The Loop. It's been around for awhile, so it's one of the older places since these change all the time it seems. The Franklin Tap is of course located on that street across from the Sears Tower. A lot of beers to choose from, however most of these aren't on tap but rather in bottles and cans. Prices are pretty high especially on the food but not crazy high for this area to be honest. As the name implies, it's a place to get beers. It has quite a lot. Though most of these aren't on tap. Lots from local craft breweries. There's some that are on special. It's about $8 for a typical pint. Quite a lot to charge to be sure. As for the food, even though it was expensive it was good. It's about $14 for the Roasted Sweet Potato And Kale Salad. This is one of the options for vegetarians. Get it vegan by substituting for the honey mustard dressing. This also has avocado, red onions, roasted grape tomatoes, roasted sweet potatoes, and roasted walnuts. Lots of things are roasted on it. The price was okay considering there was a lot. Even though it's mostly known for beers, there's lots of liquors and cocktails. It can make the good seem like an afterthought, but it shouldn't be because most of it's pretty good to be honest. There's meaty things like burgers and wings, and a few things for vegans and vegetarians. read more

Can't really tell you about the experience due to the fact our party of 7 was turned away for the lunch hour with customers attempting to come in to only eat with no intention of drinking. One guest in our party was instantly turned away due to forgetting his id and they would not let our entire party in. The pink haired manager came asked if there was a problem, which I stated there was, and he said it's their policy to reject customers to eat lunch without id. Came here for happy hour with a friend on a Friday. Not a whole lot to say; it's in a good location and easy enough to find. Their happy hour specials were nice, we both got a pumpkin beer (this was in the fall, so pumpkin beers were seasonally-appropriate). We also got the pretzels and cheese curds to split, both were good though maybe a little on the small side for sharing. Service was good, our server checked in on us as needed for refills and was clear about communicating when her shift was done and she was handing us off to someone else (which I have no issue with). Found this local bar, close to where we were staying, to watch some sports. At first, everything seemed fine, they provided us menus, sat us to a table, and that was the last time someone helped or talked to us. We wanted to order drinks, but no one came to ask us if we wanted anything. So then I figured we have to go to the bar to order drinks. The first guy I talked to at the bar said hi, but then said, "Oh, he can help you." Not sure why, he wasn't busy either. I took our drinks back to our table. The tater tots weren't even cooked. Two were still frozen. The sandwich was covered in oil/butter, but not grilled, or put on a skillet. This is the hang out spot for the financial district. Most of their bartenders and servers are cool, but yesterday their waitress decided to put a mandatory tip charge of 20% on the bill even if it was a party 2. So that way she could collect write in and cash tips, which was very dishonest. Otherwise the food and drinks were excellent. It seems like you have to sit at the bar for the best service here. read more

Run away! Took a group of work colleagues for a work lunch. All of us over 35. Was told all of us needed to show IDs or leave, even if we were just having lunch and not ordering alcohol. Tried to ask their customer service later, was told it was all my fault, they "clearly" list this requirement on their websites / emails (they don't). I don't know what trouble this place is in with the police for serving underage customers, but no thanks on taking it out on paying lunch customers who only wanted an iced tea and a sandwich. read more

Severely overpriced food with service that differs each time you go. I admit, the food is great, especially the cheese curds but it's not anything particularly unique that justifies the price.
