The Franklin Spritz and Lychee Me cocktails
Duane C.

My wife and I came here after work on a Friday for Happy Hour. We were greeted by a cheerful waiter and told to sit anywhere. The inside was cosy but we decided to sit outside in the lovely garden-like outdoor front patio. The menu isn't extensive but was clearly curated to do what it does well. Servings were perfect sized for a date - enough to satiate, not fill. We had the Franklin Spritz and Lychee Me cocktails. They were excellent and potent! We shared the Cacio e Pepe, which was rich, creamy and delicious. The pasta tasted hand-made and had a nice al dente bite. We left feeling tipsy and energized- we look forward to returning!

Cute little corner spot that catches your eye right away - it's esthetically pleasing and somewhat gives that privacy vibe - you won't miss it cause it has a portrait painted on the bldg of Old Dirty bastard - inside its cozy and very romantic. Dimly lit with candles on all the tables. This place used to be a bodega and the owner Elliot totally transformed it into this beautiful wine bar that also serves cocktails and also has a plant based menu. For our elite event - we had the opportunity to drink 3 delicious wines - first was a Grillo aka The Franklin - nice white wine - almost like a funky Pinot Grigio. Second - a rose - cute - and lastly - Gruner - which was my favorite they staff paired all our wines with hummus and some veggies - some cheese jam and bread with a side of grapes and a wonderful fresh caesar salad. Everything was great! Things to note - they have happy hour from 5-7 Wednesday - Sunday. Fridays and Saturdays they will be bringing in a DJ - would definitely return to see what kind of vibes that will be giving. They do offer private events and private wine tasting events. Stop on in if you're ever in the neighborhood Elliot the owner is pleasant and very informative. Had a great time. Thank you to the staff and Morlene and Erin for putting this together.

I found this place on yelp and heard about it via socials so I decided to come and try it out. Although they didn't have many pescatarian options. I was able to choose something. I wanted to try their tuna ceviche but it was out of stock. So I would say they need to make sure that doesn't happen constantly. Food: 5/5 I ordered the yucca fries. They were delish. My first time ever trying them and I was not disappointed. They were just the right amount of crispy and the dipping sauces which were an aioli and chipotle mayo sauce paired so well while sipping on my lychee martini. Service: 3/5 my waitress whose name I forgot was really nice. Although I wished he would checked more to ensure that I was okay. He did give me a sample of a French sweet wine resiling which was delish. I'd love to go back and a bit earlier to get the full experience Ambiance: 5/5 cozy, intimate, nice for a date night or just to go out drab drinks and chat. It's small but just the right amount of space. I like it a lot and will return. The music was pretty chill would love to hear some jazz and chill r&b but overall great experience.

I came here for an event and I would definitely be back. The bartender was very nice and offered many samples of the different wines. I loved the wine; I had and would come back to try other items. One of the owners was there and he was very friendly. He said they are trying new menu items and to come back. This is a perfect place to drink alone or on a date. It has nice inmate atmosphere. The bathroom lighting is red; a great place for a selfie picture.

I love this wine bar and will forever be my go to place in Brooklyn. The customer service is always great in the vibes in here are always impeccable. I hope they never change.

This spot is the perfect place for a date night! Finally, I can hear good music and also hear my dinner date without screaming at the top of my lungs. The place is small, but has ample seating due to its extension on the sidewalk. What's nice about the sidewalk seating is that it's framed in so you don't feel like a passerby will steal a fry off your plate. Inside has a few art pieces & mood lighting. Now onto the food- I went when they had a special pop-up menu from Brooklyn Suya. The sampler & lamb chops were delicious. The sampler was shrimp, chicken & steak on bread which sounds meh, but you have to try it. Otherwise they have charcuterie boards and grilled specialty sandwiches. The happy hour was good $10 cocktails and ~$8 happy hour glasses of wine. There was also happy hour food like $5 bread which I didn't get to try. The waiter seemed to be new, but he was accommodating. I asked him to close the door because of the draft & he did, brought out our happy hour drinks & gave us background when asked with a smile. I said he was new because at times we had to prompt him for information like the pop-up food menu, check-ins for status of the order & happy hour deals, but I could tell he was genuinely upbeat.

My brother forced me to hang out with him late Saturday night and I'm glad he did. This place is a vibe. Its a nice place to hang out with friends and its sexy enough for a date. The ambience, the drinks, food and service was a 10/10. I bumped into a friend who was in town from ATL and I joined her friends. We ordered a bunch of appetizers and drinks. I forgot to take pictures. I had a few thyme martinis and sampled the lychee martini. Both were really good and I left with a buzz. Drink prices were $13-18. The grilled cheese was so good. I needed the grease to soak up the liquor. The bread pudding with the berry compote was a perfect ending. You scan the barcode on the table for the menu. You can order and pay from your phone. My brother sat at bar and ordered there. Its relatively close to my house so I found a chill spot to hang out after work and late nights.

This is definitely a place to try! New wine bar in the neighborhood. Black Owned! My friends and I decided to dine here on a Saturday afternoon and I'm thrilled that we did. Small but beautifully decorated. There is outdoor seating around the building with a cool mural and flowers. Great if you want ti have a drink outside. There are a few tables indoors. They don't seem to take reservations, so if you have a larger party, I'd arrive early. HAPPY HOUR DAILY UNTIL 7 Drink Menu is extensive. As it is a wine bar, there are several wine options. But it doesn't end there. There's a large cocktail list as well that seems to have been carefully curated. LOVED the Hugo spritz and thyme martini! Food: not pictured is the chicken confit which is delicious, the grilled cheese with fig spread and caramelized onions was heavenly, the potatoes are a must, and the beet and goat cheese salad is light and tasty. The food options are lite bites but you can certainly make it a meal by ordering a lot. More so tapas style. Hope they add a few more options like a small pasta and possibly flat breads. Servers are very accommodating and there is a good crowd here. I will definitely be back!

Loved the wall. The artist used old wood from an old Bodega to create this wall.

Food: delicious Service: Quick and welcoming Ambiance and Decor: modern and stylish Bonus: It's a black owned business and close to Franklin Ave Shuttle and Nostrand Ave A/C trains. They will cater to you and make you feel like the guest of honor. It's an absolute must try!

One of my go-to date spots. Great wine selection and cocktails. The manager gives great recommendations.

Yuka fries had an amazing crisp, the Brussel sprouts were good, could have been cooked longer and the Japanese chicken thighs were okay. Service was good. Ambiance was very calm. They need to update the menu, it stated most of the items were out of stock and it wasn't! I'll be back tho.

Chicken thighs were delicious, so much flavor

We stopped by here after celebrating a whole blackity black weekend in honor of Juneteenth. When we arrived there was only one other patron there at the bar reading a book and sipping on Rosè. Air conditioning was at a crispy chill and was the perfect getaway from the weather outside. Service from the bartender waitress was amazing and she ensured that I enjoyed my meal and experience. It's local and I definitely will be back to try other cocktails and entrees. So SUPPORT this black owned business!

Nice spot. Very good service. Classy. I like that it is primarily a wine bar. Glad it is in the neighborhood!

He was so kind and warm and genuinely treated us like he knew us personally, which added so much to the cozy, homey vibe of the place. The space itself is really cute -- perfect lighting with red tones, exposed brick walls, and such an intimate, inviting atmosphere. We ordered the charcuterie board and it was one of the best I've ever had. It was packed with an incredible variety of meats and cheeses and was more than enough to generously feed our table of four. At a lot of wine bars, I leave still feeling unsatisfied, but this one was filling and so well done. I had the Riesling and it was amazing -- the perfect balance of sweet and dry. And the real star of the show was the grilled cheese with ragù. So delicious. I'm from LA, but we will absolutely be back every time we're in Brooklyn. Highly recommend & cannot say enough about this place! It was one of the highlights of our trip :)

We started with two perfect oysters which had ikura, ramps, Thai chili oil and coriander flowers. Then sugar snap peas cooked perfectly with a hint of sesame - oil some special kind. But the superstar starter was the leek custard, with a mound of Osetra caviar atop a little dot of wasabi sprinkled with Alyssum flowers. $55 but worth it! Then we moved on to the seafood risotto which was the most toothsome risotto made with Japanese rice - seafood broth - and a mound of fresh red shrimp, razor clams, scallops hint of chili and a bit of mint. Perfection The charred white asparagus with sable fish with Shiro miso and green garlic was a complete surprise - delicious. Another superstar was the soft egg sitting in a sea of blue crab meat - in a brown butter garam salt bath. Served with a crusty baguette that we used to lap up all the amazingly tasty sauce. Unique - unsurpassed in flavor. We ending the savory courses with a lovely steelhead trout surrounded by thinly sliced fresh asparagus and fava beans with this basil and almond. Despite eating every last drop we made room for strawberry rhubarb pavlova. So well prepared. Little bits of crunchy raw rhubarb and nuts added a nice contrast to this often soft dessert. The wines are incredible and we had a Portuguese blend with a Cortes to cema (sp?) Service was beyond excellent. Friendly professional and even fun. Wine knowledge is first class. Hip and cool. The room is small. Getting a reservation is better than winning the lottery but just as challenging ! We love this place!

The atmosphere was super intimate and cozy, and the service was paced really well throughout the night. Some of the dishes definitely could've had a little more flavor or seasoning, especially compared to how hyped up the restaurant is, but there were still a few standout plates that made the meal memorable. My favorites were the clams, the tuna, and the rice dish, all three were so simple but done really well. The tuna especially tasted incredibly fresh and balanced, and the clams had such a light, clean flavor that worked perfectly with the wine. You can tell this is one of those places focused on quality ingredients and a more understated approach to food rather than overly heavy flavors. Overall, really glad we went and it's definitely worth trying at least once, especially if you love sharing plates and trying a bunch of different dishes throughout the night.

The bar (in the former Spuyten Dyvil space) is almost comically different in look and feel from SD. It is elegant and has an almost suburban feel. I walked in 29 seconds before they opened and they told me so, and I went across the street to walk around bc I was meeting a friend and by the time I went back they were packed (this annoyed me...slightly....). :-/ However, we were given a table, even though there was some confusion at first as to whether we could have one if we weren't eating. But we did have food! And they were friendly, and the service was unexpectedly focused and tight. I'm not a huge wine guy, but I enjoyed the glasses of wine I had here. The menu was lovely. The small plates were very good, but Rude Mouth has taken *more than a small cue* from Bar Jambon, in Gramercy, the wine bar connected to the Michelin-starrred restaurant Casa Mono - in their wines and their small plates (ham, bread, butter, etc.) Who can fault them, really? Are you gonna hate on every rock band that wants to sound a little like My Bloody Valentine? Enjoyable, serious place, good wine, solid food, nice vibe, no real complaints, worth your time.

Right off the bat, the bar area is absolutely gorgeous and meets you with so much warmth, light and joy as soon as you walk in to this establishment. I plopped myself on the bar and had the pleasure of making conversation with Elouise and Alejandra. They put in my standard two dozen oyster order and paired my platter with a glass of the happy hour white wine which happens to be their house chardonnay. The oysters were delicious although I must say there was a lot of shell pieces inside, which was very annoying to eat. I don't think this is necessarily the fault of whoever is shucking them. I noticed the oysters they serve have a lot of thin slivers of shell on the edges which are bound to end up in your mouth. Perhaps they can try serving another variety of oysters? Just a thought. The chardonnay was pretty good and service was amazing. The girls at the bar also let me try the Ten Bells red wine which is produced specially for them in Boudreaux, France. It was a beautiful, light, and smooth red blend. As a wine lover, I will definitely be back to try more of their wines on tap.
