Exceeded expectations…read more    We had a blast.  Let me start with a few things because some context for an experience like this might help someone else decide if they want to do it or not.  I am not a gamer.  I do love playing mario kart and fifa with my kids on occasion but that's about it.  I have always loved go-karting.  I was invited to the one line racing center by a friend who had been before and loved it.  I knew the concept but honestly didn't really know what to expect.  Well...it was incredible.  I was pretty horrible at it and I'm really competitive so it wasn't easy to crash out a lot and not be on the leaderboard.  We did two different tracks, one which is part of their regular series that everyone competes in and then also COTA with a totally different car. A few things that stood out to me.  The staff was very nice, incredibly informative.  I love driving a stick shift but don't use paddle shifters so that took me some time to get used to.  The technology here is so immersive.  The whole 'rig' moves.  It shakes when you crash, it bumps when you bump, etc...the handling of the car felt incredibly real and varied by car which was both impressive and made it harder (at least for me).   We were there for nearly 2 hours playing almost non stop and if I didn't have to go, I'd have loved to stay longer.  It's an investment for sure and one that is well worth it imo for people of all interests and driving skill level  (they did mention they can adjust things to make it easier to pick up for newer folks, etc..) BTW - I think this would be a really fun team-building event for any companies out there, especially if you're a competitive bunch. If you want to do something different from the usual with your friends, sign up.  They'll soon have some adult beverages available too!  Hopefully you ahve as much fun as I did.

A nice atmosphere. Lots to do. The regular park is there as well as the lake. Plenty of porta potties all around. Plenty of vendors to stroll through and see all the different stuff. Plenty of alcohol! At night there are many people wandering about with glow in the dark accessories for sale. Bring your cooler, your blanket, your chairs, your sunscreen and find a nice spot on the lawn.. and enjoy your day! I HIGHLY recommend staying for the movie that is playing... even if you don't want to see it, because the traffic leaving after the firework show is unimaginable! HAVE FUN!

It's almost picture perfect. We stopped by the Frontier Days Celebration on July 4th. It's a huge event with carnival rides, pig races, food trucks, and a few other vendors. I believe they had fireworks at night but we were there in the afternoon. The event was very organized and there was plenty of parking. I'd say they drew a crowd in the thousands on July 4th. This is a free event and its' really quite nice. Very nice for families with younger children.

Austin 10/20 - Headliner Black Pistol Fire tearing it up

You like live music, right? You're into fitness, too? Are you willing to walk or run 10 miles? Well…read morethen you should sign up for the annual Austin 10/20 race to enjoy a beautiful spring morning race with about 3000 fellow music lovers that ends up in a concert at Domain's Central Park (near Burnet and Kramer, on the east side of the Domain). Your family & friends can come, too, so it's like a free concert for them. Here's what I loved about this event at the end of March 2015: + Starts and ends at the Domain, very nice for us Northsiders. No hauling myself to downtown Austin at the crack of dawn, and it's pretty easy for my special friend to drop me off pretty close to the starting chute without being mired in traffic. Exiting was a breeze, too. + Plentiful port-o-lets with TP and hand sanitizer around the start/finish festival and along the route. I never waited in a line and they were pretty clean (even after the race). + Mostly flat course through the Domain, Mopac service road, Burnet, and IBM campus, providing a few spectacular bluebonnet patch sightings. I now know exactly where I can access some great bluebonnets for family photo ops before they fade for the season. + 19 bands playing along the course and 1 headliner show for about an hour at the end of the race. Honestly, the bands along the course didn't make much of an impact for me, as I only was able to hear about 30 seconds of their performances as I ran by, but it still made for a fun atmosphere. The finish line festival, on the other hand, provided an incredible opportunity to get up close & personal to the rockin', high energy headliner duo, Black Pistol Fire. By the time they came on stage at 10:40a or so, 80% of the 3000+ runners and their cheering sections had already cleared out, leaving plenty of comfortable space at front & center on the grassy lawn viewing area. Frontman/guitarist Kevin McKeown came down from the stage & thrashed right in the appreciative crowd. It was awesome! + Registration comes with 1 post-race beer ticket and additionals were only $4. This is way better than other music show beer prices around this town. Thanks to TABC, we could not partake until after 10am, but the line to redeem those "free" beer tickets moved quickly once the beer stand opened. + Five featured charitable organizations with running teams. The 2015 featured charities were Without Regrets Foundation (assisting children with parental deaths); Leukemia & Lymphoma Society; Team Red, White & Blue (supporting wounded veterans); Alzheimer's Association; Team to End AIDS; and Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. If you ran for these teams and meet their minimum fundraising goal, you received race support (like team gear, food, bevs, massages, and additional swag). + Cool pre-race expo for packet pickup at the HPBC Quarries Recreation Center. It wasn't as massive as the ones for the Austin Marathon or 3M or Cap10K, but there were plenty of vendor discounts & freebies available, as well as promotions for other upcoming races. Negative stars to the never-ending wind gusts in my face throughout the 2015 race, as well as the 2 giant blisters on my big toes I took home as a souvenir. 2015 Race Results: http://mychiptime.com/searchevent.php?id=8587 2015 Race Photos: https://www.marathon-photos.com/scripts/regist.py?event=Sports/CPUK/2015/Austin%201020

The weather is always great here in Austin around April and 10 miles in the morning is a great way to start the day! If you haven't run anything and are curious what long distances feel like this is a great starter race, the energy of the crowd, runners and bands really help to get you through all 10 miles.

Their packages are a great deal, you can eat and drink all day (great for the kids to pop in and get a drink or snack when needed and go back out. The salad bar alone is enough reason for me to go back to eat there. Everything was fresh and crisp on the salad bar. The pizzas and other food were replenish non-stop and it was always hot and fresh. They always had cups, ice, and drinks available. I am serious. I'm picky and I can't think of something to complain about here. The rides are always a hit with the kids. Mine will spend 8 or 9 hours there - happily. My husband joked that it should be a place for summer camps. 4 of our group didn't want the buffet and got burgers and taquitos from the restaurant. my husband is quite the food snob and said that the burger was awesome and gave me a bite. I agreed. The bacon was like a thick cut slab of pork belly. If I didn't enjoy the salad bar so much I would definitely get the burger, but I can have the best of both worlds and eat some of his next time. Their inside arcade has so many options and the games all work. I'm just so grateful that this place exists. Austin's management - you're doing an incredible job. We are fans!

We had tickets for one attraction each but couldn't even use them. There was virtually no staff present at most areas such as pull tables, mini golf, even nobody at the gift shop/prize shop. The food at the buffet was also very sad. Mac&cheese was tasteless; all pizza options had huge bubbles of dough, meaning it was not cooked properly, also pretty much flavorless. We skipped salad bar and desserts. We didn't spend much time there and left in less than an hour.
