The 27th Red Poppy Festival taking place in Georgetown, Texas on April 24-26, 2026 is an…read moreinteractive and welcoming spring celebration that truly captures the heart of the community. The festival is held in the city's historic downtown square. The festival brings together live music, artisans, vendors, food trucks, parades, and family-friendly activities in a festive atmosphere. The streets come alive with color, energy, and the signature red poppies that symbolize Georgetown's identity as the "Red Poppy Capital of Texas". Until today, I did not know this well-kept secret. It was so cool to see so many people with poppy clothing - dresses, tops, pants and even one gentleman with a red poppy beard. My friend and I spent 6 hours at the festival. This festival has a little something for everyone. Georgetown visitors and residents enjoyed multiple music stages (Red Poppy, Mayfair and Celebrate) featuring local and nationally recognized performers, browse more than 150 handmade artisan booths, and take part in traditions he such as the Poppy Parade, classic car show, and the POPP Pup Parade. The featured bands while we visited included: Red Poppy Stage Schedule American Gypsy Band: 5:15-6:15 p.m. Jade Eagleson: 6:45-8 p.m. Maddie & Tae: 8:30-10 p.m. Mayfair Stage Schedule Rich Stolp: 4-5 p.m. Celebrate Stage Schedule GISD Ballet Folklorico and Mariachi Band: 4-4:50 p.m. Georgetown Palace Theatre Education: 5-5:55 p.m. The Red Poppy Festival fostered a huge sense of community. Local businesses, volunteers, and performers came together to create a warm, authentic small-town experience. With thoughtful touches such as shuttles, accessible parking options, and pet-friendly policies, the festival reflects Georgetown's hospitality and commitment to inclusivity. The event was well-organized, free to attend, and designed to appeal to all ages, making it an ideal outing for families, couples, and friends. The Red Poppy Festival was a joyful celebration of spring, local culture, and community pride and a standout event in Central Texas's festival calendar. Only one thing that could have made it better was to see actual fresh poppies.

(It was some fine looking men at this festival.) EXCELLENT music. GREAT food. Vendors from ALL OVER the place, even California. And you can walk around with your beer or beverage in-hand. I can't wait for next year. This festival is worth it. Even the insane parking. WORTH IT!

The lights are fun to look at but not worth the wait. The best part is the end with a really cool tunnel of lights! At the exit is where you can park your car and enter Christmas Towne. On their website there is a $3 off the wristband for unlimited rides making it $15. There is also a light maze and walk through light tunnel for free that you can go through! Food options are very limited - just your classic popcorn, funnel cake, and caramel apples. There wasn't even hot chocolate! Anyway, I either recommend coming on a weekday night or as early as you can get there to avoid a ridiculously long and slow line.

Enter off of Old Settler's and exit onto 79 by the Salt Lick. It took us one hour and 25 minutes to get to the ticket booth! Yes, we all had to pee. Like real bad. I almost jumped out of the car and used one of the road cones for shielding. Luckily they had some (4ish) port-o-potties once you got inside. That area is kinda dark though. Bring a flashlight. Maybe some snacks? Bring the dog and the kiddo's. Kids are gonna love this. The trail was cutely themed with a reminder of celebration to preparation to dinner time with dessert to Santa's Coal Mine to the North Pole Rodeo. It was all cute and made me wish I had some kids in my car so I could vibe off of their excitement. My favorite part was the end light tunnel. It was fully lit and would do the roving flashing thing every once in awhile. Unfortunately we got stuck with the steady on feature. Which really sucked because I wanted to experience the roving flash. There's a little Christmas Town at the end, so be sure to park and check it out. More lights, petting zoo, and little carnival. Also some food. Take the kids, they will talk about this for a long time. Good for Round Rock to bring in their own originality. Was this worth all the effort and the $15? Sure, why not? Is it four star worthy? Not really, but, one star for bringing attention to 'da Rizzle. This is year three, hopefully, they will continue to grow and improve.

If they only would charge for kids entry, that would be wonderful. This place is for kids up to 10 years old and mostly for toddlers and little kids. My 11 years old was not impressed and 3 year old was having fun. I was bored, nothing for adults. Would I go back? Probably not. Let me quickly break down…read morewhy: - Hella expensive for what's offered (which we already knew going in). - No petting zoo. - The train ride wasn't working. - Limited food options. - Pony rides are not free. - The lady running the pony rides was extremely rude. - The live music was way too loud--seriously, the volume needs to be toned down. Despite all that, there were a few things the kiddos enjoyed: - The bounce house. - The corn patch was a hit. - Pumpkin painting (free with a ticket). - Watching some animals behind the fence (but no, this wasn't a petting zoo). - The $8, 2-minute pony ride. At the end of the day, the kiddo had a blast, and that's what matters most. However, the total cost--$30 for tickets (3 tickets), $8 for the pony ride, $8 for a gross agua fresca, and $10 for 2 pumpkins--comes out to $56. To be honest, that's pretty disgusting for what you actually get here.

I saw so many posts on Facebook about the Dutchens Festival, all advertising it as "the annual…read moreDutchens Fest -- the biggest festival in Pflugerville!" I was so excited to attend, especially since it was my first time. It was promoted as a fun, community-based event -- but the reality was completely different once we arrived. As a family of eight, we were told there was an entrance fee of $10 per person for one day, $15 per person the next day, and around $20 on the last day. You're telling me I'd have to pay $80 just to walk in with my family to walk inside a public park with vendors? On top of that, there were tons of small businesses, vendors, and rides for the kids -- which is great -but you have to pay for that as well. Nowhere online did it clearly say there was an admission fee just to enter -- $10 the first day, $15 the next, and $20-$25 the final day. And keep in mind, this was held at a public park. They completely gated the entire area off, like literally fenced it off every inch with metal gates so no one could enter without paying -- it felt like a lockdown, not a festival. It's honestly frustrating that a city like Pflugerville, which is supposed to be so "community-oriented," would host an event that excludes people based on whether they can afford to pay just to walk into a public space. What if someone just wanted to support local small businesses or grab food from a food truck? If you have a family of 4, 5, 6, 7 -- you're dropping $50, $60, $70, $80 just to get in. The advertising was misleading, and the setup felt more about profit than community. I really hope future events are more transparent and actually represent the community spirit they claim to have. Also, where exactly do these funds go? Because ,I have no clue. They should be ashamed charging people to enter a public park -- especially when everyone inside is already spending money.

Our plans got mixed up on our end, and she still welcomed us like family. And it's not just for little kids. My 10- and 14-year-old had a blast! There's so much to do: free live pro wrestling, a free comedy show, free bull riding, carnival rides (some free, some on tokens), a 60-foot Ferris wheel, a giant super slide, train rides, a petting zoo, pony rides, and Pumpkin Smash'N. The photo spots are good enough for a full fall family photo shoot. The boys picked from a truly huge pumpkin selection, and we munched warm kettle corn while browsing the local vendors and food trucks. I love that it supports VFW Post 10427. Thank you, Shari, for a day we won't forget!

My kids loved the mechanical bull. They both went about 4 times each. The pumpkin spin was also a hit for them. The slide went very slowly even though the line was short. The pickleball set up was fine but because it was on dirt/grass, we spent most of the time chasing the ball. These were some of the only free activities available. The cost of the other activities added another $6 to $9 each per person. We opted not to do any of them. We spent about 1 hr and 10 minutes in total before the kids were ready to go.

This was a really pleasant experience! We got there early and it was super easy to get in and out of. Not sure why the negative reviews. Of COURSE you are going to pay for parking at a concert venue. It sucks but its pretty standard. $20 is common for concert parking. The concert tix themselvesare VERY reasonable compared to other venues. We paid about $125 each and had excellent floor seats 6th row center! Perfect! I would not spend extra for VIP passes though .They have a separate area off to the side and their seats arent as good. They have their "own bar" which is just the back side of the regular bar and "their own bathrooms" but, at least when we went, there were barely any lines at the bar or the restrooms. Also, something to note... all the staff from parking attendants to the people at the gate to bar tenders were super friendly. The alcohol prices were reasonable (not sure why the complaining about this) $13 for a tall can ranch water and $8 for an NA beer. Not grocery store prices but concerts are always pricey sometimes up to $20 for the tall cans! Also, they DO let you bring in your own unopened water bottles which is important in TEXAS. Lots of other venues wont even let you bring your own water in and then charge you crazy prices for a bottle of water when its 100 degrees out! I saw some complaints about the parking and honestly I dont see what they are talking about it being far. Its attached to the venue. Its not a far walk at all. It is on grass though so be prepared for that. The Parking is NOT well marked though off of Mayes St so keep a lookout for the turn. The venue itself is very pretty and is surrounded by beautiful trees. Most importantly the sound system was great! I would definitely go here again!
