Oh wow, I feel that each year the Texas Pumpkin Fest gets better and better. This year's been the best so far! They really opened up the space and had a lot of freebies and also free rides and experiences for the while family. The food options were vast and delicious, as well as the variety of their pumpkins. Well worth the trip! Free entry for military on Fridays.

We made this a family tradition without even realizing it! The first time we came here it was 2020, during C19 and here we are, one more kid later, and my how things have changed!! This festival has grown so much and we had a blast!! There are plenty of activities for the entire family to enjoy that will keep you there all day. There is a large parking lot in the front and parking is free. I loved that they had wagons for you to borrow right out front, so you don't have to carry your pumpkins (or your kids lol)-- also free. Inside they have: pumpkin smashing, train rides, wrestling matches, magic shows, carnival rides, vendors, face-painting, photo-ops, food trucks and of course, the massive pumpkin patch (with a variety of different pumpkins)-- and this list is only what I can remember. Some rides required tokens, while others (most) were free; they had porta-potties (3 of which were wheelchair accessible) and handwashing stations. Every staff person we encountered was kind and welcoming, and kept lines running smoothly and efficiently; they also kept the grounds and picnic areas well maintained. If you haven't visited the Texas Pumpkin Fest with your family yet, GO! It's definitely Texas-sized and so is the fun! It's a family tradition we're excited to keep. See you next year!

This is not it. Nothing to do but walk around in dust. Absolutely no value. Feels like a poor man's mall carnival. The few (4) free attractions are in poor condition. Photo ops are scarcely assembled and include tents, chain link fences, and porta-potties for your background. The one highlight was an employee named Milton at one attraction - great guy making the ride fun.

For Texas this is a pretty good pumpkin patch. They have loads of activities for children including a big slide, trampoline, petting zoo, haunted house, and train/hayride. Lots of pumpkins on the property to choose from of all sorts and it's charged by weight $1/pound. They have little wagons you can take around with you. They also have a stand near the VFW selling beer and wine. The only improvement I would suggest would be to try to make the hayride a little more than just a lap around the property. Overall great way to spend a morning/afternoon with the kids

First time at the Texas Pumpkin fest! It's was just me and my mom and cost $29. They have food trucks, kids activities and plenty of photo ops. It is definitely more kid driven. I think it's a little pricey for what you actually experience. We walked the entire fest within 20 minutes. All of the staff was friendly, and it being a Sunday made it very busy, but no long lines to take pictures, and the lines to the food trucks went by really fast too!

Highly recommend! Me and my s/o came for around two hours and it was tons of fun! There's mini pumpkins, large pumpkins, pumpkin smashing, a haunted hall, and so many other fun pumpkin related activities! My only issue was the heat but of course Texas will be Texas! They also have a beer garden, bungee jumping, and a petting zoo. This is perfect for family fun, an autumn date, or just looking for pumpkins! Tons of photo ops and kind, knowledgeable employees like Emma and Zelinda. We will definitely be returning next year!

Ask the Community - Texas Pumpkin Fest

    When does it end?

    Sunday Oct 29th!

Never been to a pumpkin patch before, but have been looking for something to do with my girlfriend. I mostly just see pictures of kids. Is this more for children or would kidless couples have a good time too?

Hi Dave! You and your girlfriend will have a good time. Lots to do.

Is this pumpkin patch reasonably easy to navigate for someone in a wheelchair?

Yes, I'd say so. The larger pumpkins are spread all around the grounds in little clusters-- large aisles to navigate. The smaller pumpkins are all lumped in a pile together at the entrance, but still pretty accessible.

Is there a fee for dogs as well?

No, but pets can only come out during the week as the weekends are just too crowded for the sweet animals.

Do you have to pay to get in even if you're not planning on buying, just taking pictures?

There is a $5 entry fee (except babies in diapers). This is applied to your purchases.

Despite all that, there were a few things the kiddos enjoyed: - The bounce house. - The corn patch was a hit. - Pumpkin painting (free with a ticket). - Watching some animals behind the fence (but no, this wasn't a petting zoo). - The $8, 2-minute pony ride. At the end of the day, the kiddo had a blast, and that's what matters most. However, the total cost--$30 for tickets (3 tickets), $8 for the pony ride, $8 for a gross agua fresca, and $10 for 2 pumpkins--comes out to $56. To be honest, that's pretty disgusting for what you actually get here.

Even though we had chilly weather and a little rain, it didn't stop us one bit. We ended up picking close to seven pounds of fresh strawberries and they were so tasty and juicy. The whole experience of walking row by row and picking the perfect berry was so much fun. There's even a helpful little sign explaining how to pick the strawberries properly so they last longer. *Pro tip, leave a bit of the stem on the strawberry as you pick them, they stay fresh longer. We learned that after the fact, but we'll definitely do it right next time. The farm is huge, around 152 acres of expansive land, which was very green, open, and peaceful. It wasn't crowded at all the day we went, which made it even more enjoyable. The kids had a blast. They have a cute little train ride, a fun bouncing area, and plenty of space for the kiddies to run around. The goats were a big highlight for us. You can buy feed for 25 cents a tiny cup, and we went through four pretty quickly - you might want to grab more upfront because they close at 5 and we didn't get a chance to go back for more goat feed. The setup around the goat area was really nice and whimsical, and there's just so much open space to explore and walk and get fresh air. They also have a small gift shop with ice cream and little goodies, which was a nice touch after being out in the fields. Overall, it was such a peaceful, fun, and memorable day. Beautiful views, great atmosphere, and a perfect mix of activities for both kids and adults. We'll absolutely be back. Easily a five star experience.

Entry fee was $15 for ages 4 and up. $0 for babies 0-3, and $0 for elders 65 and older. The entry fee was reasonable for all of the activities that the festival had to offer but some activities had an additional fee. There was a little train ride, a petting zoo, and numerous vendors selling clothes, jewelry, etc. My team loved the food and drink options, my favorite was Pecos Petes! They sold a massive mug/cup for $25 and allowed refills all day. Pecos Petes had a selection of root beers, teas, and lemonade. The cup was a very cute memento as the back of it had the Dripping Springs pumpkin festival on it. There were swings and a talented bubble artist who kept the kids entertained for hours! The pumpkin festival was filled with numerous photo-ops for families and friends. My favorite was the horseshoe toss along with the lasso toss! Overall, we had a great company party, it was nice to be in such a festive environment. I am glad that parts of the festival had trees and tents to provide shade as it got pretty hot out there. A downside was the parking. On the website, they do stress that the parking is an issue and they even offer coupon codes for ride shares, so at least they are trying to make the public aware.

So much to do and we didn't even do it all. There was also a craft market and food trucks. Such a nice setup. And later in the day there is music and shows which we missed. There are a bunch of spots to take photos with skeletons and lots of pumpkins and gourds to buy at reasonable prices. You pay $15 to enter and parking is free. There is so much to do that every visit feels like a full experience, not just a quick stop. The farm has a nostalgic, old-fashioned charm, and each month features a different theme, which keeps it fresh and exciting year-round. General admission includes a huge number of activities. There are apple cannon launches, face painting, giant bubble stations, horseback riding, and a petting zoo with chickens, goats, llamas, and alpacas. The live pig races are a must-see and always a hit with the kids. There is also a large bouncing and play zone with slides and plenty of open space for children to run and explore. The creativity and scale of the activities are genuinely impressive. Seasonal events make it even better. Depending on the month, you can enjoy strawberry picking, corn mazes, pumpkin patch festivities, and other unique themed attractions. It truly never gets old. We ended up buying annual passes because if you go four or more times a year, they easily pay for themselves. One small note for parents: it is not very stroller-friendly in some areas due to the terrain, so bring a sturdy stroller if you plan to use one. It is doable, but it can be a bit of a push and pull. 4 stars since the cost of admission per visit can get pricey with even a small family of 4 like us at $22-$25 per ticket, which is why we opted to buy annual passes, which still can add up. Additonally, the uneven terrain for strollers can be a grievance and I also wish they were open later all year around. Some months they close as early as 2pm and stay open no later than 6pm with the exception of a couple of months during the fall season where they extend their hours until 9pm but that's only for a small fraction of the year.
