This is pretty much a beautiful upscale store they cater more to the elite crowd. Yes it is…read moreexpensive but they do carry a lot of beautiful items I do remember buying about 20 wine glasses a few years back and they weren't what I thought they would be. But now they carry better quality and definitely the selections they have is going to be a little higher and more expensive. So you can save money here if you come at the right time do not come when it's seasonal items because they do tend to be on the higher value side. They do carry electrical items and they carry wine glasses and beautiful Christmas trees. I was searching for a certain wine glass I wanted to get 10 of them today except that it's Hit or Miss because they don't carry 10 items you have to order or find them in the store. So if you want to purchase several of the same wine glass good luck with that. I had wonderful service they're very friendly here and they will help you in every way they can that's what I thought was an absolute Plus. Like I said I usually like to come when it's not before Christmas or any holidays because that's where you will find everything higher in price. I will come back again of course and see if I can buy any items on sale after the holidays that's the best time to come. Great parking no problem here and very friendly customer service.

The beautiful objects are still there, but the shop appears to be quite understaffed... and whatever staff there is is struggling to keep up. I genuinely felt sorry for them. This is an ACE hardware store coupled with a tasteful, high end and carefully curated and presented homeware selection, including tableware, gardening supplies, greeting cards, candies and candles and one of a kind objects for the home. A $2,400 candelabra, a Smeg toaster, an excellent selection of flatware, tablecloths and glassware... pretty pajamas, $90 votive candles... But what to do if you want to know the price of that set of Wedgewood china, or the Rialto flatware? Prices are missing on so so many objects. And you cannot find a staff member... And you only have so much time before you need to meet mom for lunch. Ah well. Many of us are trying to ween ourselves off of online shopping. Retail stores... this is your moment to recoup some ground.

We picked out a pre lit Christmas tree, two containers of shatter proof ornaments, and a star for our tree. When going through the checkout there were several people working. We waited for the next available cashier. It was a really short wait probably less than five minutes. The cashier was friendly. We paid and we're on our way. We set up our Christmas tree after our Thanksgiving Dinner. My husband removed the tree from the box piece by piece. He spread out the tree limbs so that it would look more full. Once all of the ornaments and the star were put on the tree it looked really good. I recommend going there to check out the holiday decorations as there is a wide variety of items to choose from.

This Container Store location is very nice. It's clean and super well-organized. There were so many…read moreoptions. Like I thought I had a plan when I came here, but that went straight out the window. I will definitely be back. Even the clearance section is easy to navigate. I came in on a Friday afternoon and had a lovely time. I feel like everybody working there approached me and asked me if I needed any help. I do plan on coming back. The next time I will be better prepared and I'll bring my husband so I can get his opinion on things. Ok so I dropped a star specifically because when I went to check out, I had to wait in line as there was only one person at the registers. The one person in front of me seemed to be doing multiple transactions, that's all fine and well, but to have all the staff come up to me while I'm shopping and then watch as several of them stand around and see me waiting was pretty annoying. The one who was already at the register had to tell another staff member to check me out. It was weird.

Have you ever done some goofball action and said to yourself what were you thinking? Short answer:…read more1) yes and 2) yes and recently. I was leaving to go out of town at 7 am with a small tote bag. I was about to put it in my trunk until I realized I had left my car keys inside the house. So, I get my keys and then get into my car parked in the drive way. I hear this weird noise, but did not think anything of it. I was semi-awake, so I didn't give it a second thought. When I got halfway to my destination, my hubs calls me and said my clothes and shoes were on the car pavement in front of the house. You guessed it, I drove right over my tote bag. Amazingly, nothing was damaged other than my shoe box. So off I went to the Container Store to buy a plastic shoe box to replace the one I ran over and blasted to smithereens. Did I learn my lesson...absolutely? Don't take a tote!? No. If you are leaving early in the morning pack your things in the trunk the night before.

We stumbled onto Barton Springs Nursery almost by accident after seeing their showroom on Lamar and…read morerealizing there was an actual nursery a little farther west. Somehow I had never heard of it, despite it having been around for decades. I was not prepared. This is less a traditional nursery and more a beautifully designed place that happens to sell plants. The property is shaded by huge mature oaks, with gravel paths winding through incredibly healthy plants, weathered wood structures, limestone, pottery, little seating areas, a greenhouse, ponds, and thoughtfully placed pockets where you can just sit. Everything feels considered without feeling precious. I kept trying to describe the aesthetic and eventually realized the most accurate reference point is the Animal Crossing island I always intended to create but absolutely never did. It is genuinely one of the most beautiful retail environments I've experienced in Austin. We were only stopping in between errands with our five-year-old and 11-month-old, so we barely scratched the surface and didn't actually purchase anything. Even so, several staff members took time with us. Everyone we encountered was warm, knowledgeable, and seemed genuinely happy to talk about plants and the property. The Genus Bar is particularly cool. It isn't just clever branding. You can bring actual plant problems to their horticultural experts for help, and they have equipment on hand to dig into what may be happening with a plant. One gentleman walked us through the space, explained some of what they do there, gave us some history of the nursery, and was completely open to whatever plant questions I wanted to throw at him. There are also a surprising number of things for kids to discover. Turtles, enormous tortoises, an axolotl, ponds and other little bits of wildlife are worked into the property. Our five-year-old loved feeding and watching the turtles and tortoises. One of the staff members caring for the tortoises also made sure we knew not to touch them because of the salmonella risk. How did I make it this far into adulthood without knowing that? Another unexpected detail was the nitro yaupon tea. I initially thought I was being offered cold brew coffee, which was challenged the moment I smelled it. Yaupon is a native holly whose leaves have a long history of being brewed as a caffeinated tea, and the person serving it gave us the whole background while preparing it. It was light, fragrant and really pleasant. Just another small thing that made the visit feel less transactional. The major caveat is price. This is NOT where I would necessarily come for a budget-conscious haul of plants I could easily find elsewhere. The nursery is in Westlake, the products are highly curated, and the pricing reflects the environment and clientele. That said, the plants we saw looked exceptionally healthy, the garden and home goods felt carefully selected, and there appeared to be some more unusual plant options mixed into the broader selection. You're paying for a noticeably different experience. And honestly, the experience is the reason give it five stars. We came in intending to look around for a few minutes and left wishing we'd had considerably more time. I tend to linger in nurseries anyway, but Barton Springs Nursery seems almost specifically engineered to encourage that behavior. Next time we'll come when we're not wedging botanical exploration between chores. Even if it isn't where you buy every plant for your yard, it's worth visiting at least once. We'll absolutely be back.

The staff here is so…read morenice and helpful, and there are plenty of wheeled trolleys for use when your plant selections become too much to carry, haha. There's a giant garden gnome out front, plus two resident tortoises, parakeets, a pond with turtles, and even an axolotl inside the gift shop! It's so lovely to walk around here, admire their space, and gather inspiration from the wonderful assortment of plants they have. My cousin buys so many plants here for her home as well as for her business. Happy to support such a wonderful place!
