On the way to Tesco, I spotted The Fox. I was intrigued and wanted to go inside. I really liked how they have a sign that tells customers they serve meals all day long. It is far too often you find a pub and they don't serve lunch but still serve beer.
I was greeted by a very friendly and cute bar maid. I was checking out the beers on tap and she immediately asked me what I wanted. I was not planning on drinking but was curious about their selection. I asked what the highest percentage of beer they had on tap and she said Stella. She offered me a pint and I gladly took her up on her offer.
Looked at the menu and it was four pages long. I was quite impressed about their wide selection of virtually anything you could imagine. Asian inspired dishes with a British twist. Indian curries, several different flavors of curry. A healthy menu option for meals under 600 calories. Sandwiches. Large meaty varieties, their burger was four slices of burger meat. The traditional British fair that you would have at your local carvery. My eyes were popping out of my head.
Many options are two for the price of £10.
I ordered the goat cheese and caramelized onion wonton. It was nicely fried with melted goat cheese and sweet caramelized onions on the inside. The starter was delicious. I figured since I am drinking beer and ordered a fried starter I will go for the bacon and chicken ceasar salad, a lighter option. It was in the two for £10 deal, although my friend opted for a duck wrap that wasn't in the deal. The salad was on the small side and unfortunately did not fill me up, it cost slightly under £8.00. My friend's duck wrap looked amazing. It had nice large pieces of duck and was a rather large wrap, she paid under £5.00 for her wrap, large drink and curly fries. I should have gotten that.
They have a lovely beer garden. I look forward to going to this pub again, trying more things on their menu and enjoying a pint in their beer garden. read more
