Bull Inn, Lark river footpath nearby, 20 min walk to town.

Charming place with wonderful customer service. Staying here whilst we visit our son who is stationed at nearby base. The food and drinks are great. Has a very sincere feel to the place, the employees seem genuinely nice. If we return would surely stay here again.

I had the good fortune of spending nearly two weeks at The Bull Inn. The food was top notch - despite trying other restaurants and eateries, nothing beat the presentation or the taste of the fare offered here. The only thing better than the food was the staff. So incredibly accommodating and kind. Everyone was lovely and truly made me feel like a regular. The rooms are quirky and fun. The bed was huge and comfortable and you can't beat the funky vibe. It's just screams a good time. I really miss the dinner banter and the care they took to make sure I was comfortable - even offered to let me toss in some laundry with their regular loads since I was there for so long. (Didn't take them up o. It but wow!) I had a fantastic time even though I was there for work and CANNOT wait to visit again soon. I miss starting my day with a full English breakfast, and ending it with laughter and a beer.

Had to find a place to stay while I was on work travel, they were the only place with availability that wasn't more than 10 minutes from work. I was coming from the U.S. so I had to quarantine on arrival, I appreciate the staff who was really friendly and helpful. Getting to my room it was pretty small with an antique feel to it but to my surprise the bathroom was the polar opposite being much more modern and up-to date looked brand new as well Since I had to be quarantined I needed to either order out or have the staff bring me food from the diner. I could either call reception or send them an E-mail, which they responded to right away. I ordered food twice and they would bring it to me much faster than I expected. I had the chef's soup and their Thai Curry with some hot chocolate. I only ended up staying here 2 days since work required me to move but overall I had a great experience at the Bull inn.

The Bull Inn is a wonderful.place to stay if you are in the Lakenheath/Bury St Edmonds area of East Anglia, UK. It is a renovated inn with rustic exterior, but nicely done inside. There is a great pud that serves elevated but typical English fare and also more sophisticated dishes. The steak was amazing, and so were their "greenes" (cabbage, peas and other green veggies lightly braised in butter). Everybody raves at their sticky toffee pudding with salted caramel sauce and toffee ice cream. Excallenr selection of local and imported beers and wines, and creative mix drinks. The owners are lovely people! Even though I had made my reservation (booking) to include breakfast, I was leaving pretty early everyday, so they offered to make me a delicious and enormous sandwich every day that I picked up before leaving each day. They de-feathered my room, gave me extra pillows... They really bent over backwards to make me feel comfortable! They only have 11 rooms (named, not numbered,.. Although I stayed in room "five") and they are whimsically decorated with different cow themes. I recommend the Bull Inn without hesitation!

I recently stayed at the Bull Inn for two weeks with a small group on business and it was absolutely fabulous! They are under new management and the entire team was wonderful to us and treated us like family. The rooms are quirky and comfy. The hospitality was amazing. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. And the food was the best in the area! We tried numerous local restaurants but none of them compared to the food at Bull Inn, and we tried almost everything during our two weeks. The atmosphere was great, always busy, so I recommend a reservation! Can't wait to return, I miss it already!

First restaurant I ate at in England and they did not disappoint at all. When you first walk in the restaurant is a bit small, but the decor and how the layout is set up it just all works. The food took about 30-40 minuets to come out but it was so worth the wait. I had the "Pan Fried Salmon", it was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. Next time I go I want to try the "Fish and Chips".

Lovely decor that is different in every room!

Who would not want to sleep in a room named after a cow with cowhide prints over the bathtub? This hotel is just perfect - quirky, fun - and it has a restaurant on site. Here is their confirmation email: "The Bull Inn at Barton Mills is not a B&B, its not a hotel, but it is an award winning boutique and quirky modern day coaching Inn, located near Mildenhall, Bury St Edmunds and Newmarket in the picturesque county of Suffolk. The Inn simply radiates character, style and an eccentric passion, which is simply infectious to all those who visit. Think funky and fresh within an amazing 500 year old coaching inn. We have created 15 individually designed boutique bedrooms, AA Rosette dining rooms, cosy pub with great wines, real ales and an open log fire for those cold winter evenings. There is also a fantastic courtyard to while away many a summers day with family and friends. Improvement and refurbishment never ends at The Bull, we are driven by the passion to seek and trying new, exciting and sometimes crazy ideas! When it comes to eating you can go one of two ways, from amazing pub menu, served every day from 12noon to 9pm (9.30 on Friday & Saturday) to casual yet cosy modern dining in our AA rosette dining rooms. If you wish to enjoy an evening in our dining rooms please make a reservation to avoid disappointment. We do not take reservations in the pub and I am afraid we do not serve the pub menu in the dining room."

Lovely atmosphere however this restaurant is not family friendly. They are clear in communicating that children are not welcome diners.

What can I say about the King's Arms? I'm at home here. When we moved to the UK, honestly our most…read moredesired feature was walking distance to a pub. We got stumbling distance to one of the best pubs in the country. This place is well-regarded by everyone in the region. I've met people here who give up walking distance to their local to drive here and have a good time. That says something. My first night here I made friends, and each time I've been here since I find myself in good company either with neighbors we've met before, or people who know we're new to the area and want to welcome us. I can't begin to tell you how often a quick pint before dinner turns into a long session at King's Arms. I wouldn't have it any other way. These guys truly embrace the concept of being the center of village activity. No TVs, no WiFi, these things distract from the community. You come here to interact with your friends and neighbors, enjoy a good beer, and enjoy living in the company of others. They regularly have events to bring the village out. The most impressive of which was the dinner they hosted on the night of the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic. They served the exact 10-course menu served in first class that evening, and requested everyone bust out their tuxedos and dresses to mark the occasion in grand fashion. It was a remarkable evening. One disappointment, since I have to list one to feel as though I am being fair, is the wine list. We love the temperanillo, but really none of the others. But we're not here to drink wine, we're here to be social! It makes me a little sad that we don't have this type of drinking culture in the US. If you're not an alcoholic, you're not likely be on a first-name basis with the bartenders at a local watering hole. That's why I love walking in here; everyone knows everyone else, they're always happy to see you, they know what you drink, they pour a tasty pint, and are genuinely good people. I dig it.
