Went here for happy hour which is a fantastic deal, the service I received knocked off a star…read more Their happy hour is from 4-6 Monday-Friday. It's been a few years since I've dined at Marlow's, but their HH deals brought me in. I sat at the bar, and maybe they were in the middle of a shift change bc it took a while to get greeted and service throughout my experience was slow. I had to wave them down, ask for refills instead of the bartender being diligent. The bar was full, but at one point I saw one of the bartenders texting, so they had time to check on guests. I'm also in the service industry , so I may notice these things more than the average person. Anyways, their happy hour is one of the best I've come across. $5 margs & $6 old fashions to highlight a few items. I love a happy hour with food AND drinks. The food here is still as solid as I remember. I had the kettle chips and wings. Wings were not sauced, but very crispy and came with dipping sauce on the side. The chips were hella good! Crispy and the toppings were great. I had those two appetizers, 3 margs and a creme brûlée for under $40! That's a win, this will be one of my go-to spots for sure.

We walked in 8pm Saturday night. I can understand a restaurant being busy and understaffed, but…read moregiving it one star is one too many. It took at least 5 minutes to be recognized by a host and then several more before we were seated, even though there were plenty of open tables. We should have left at that point, but we stayed hoping that the server experience would be much better. Then it took some time for the server to come around so, in the meantime, our party planned on our entree item selections to give to the server when she arrived to ask about our drinks, tell about specials, etc. Server writes down our order. 10 minutes + pass and no waters. My girlfriend noticed the server immediately went to clean a table after taking our order. ???? We designated a time that we were going to leave if there was no drinks, and then we left when the time came. On a lesser note, the place has plenty of TVs. We went to watch the second half of a college basketball game (University of North Carolina vs Dook) on ESPN, a basic cable network, and none of the TVs had the game on. No big deal. But when the server came to take our order, we also requested that she put the tv closest to us on the UNC/Dook game. 10 minutes + pass and I was still watching it on my phone as she never changed the channel. Anyway. 20-25 minutes total. Many delays and excuses. 0 Stars. 1 will have to do for. We went to Brockett Pub, three miles down the road. We were acknowledged and served quickly, they put the game on, we had a wonderful meal, and Carolina won. All's well that ends well, but never again here.

Holy cow - this food is amazing! My wife and I shared the pork belly, sous vide egg, the steelhead…read moretrout, the spicy black ink bucatini, and the pineapple bread pudding. Everything was outstanding, especially the egg. No wonder this is Michelin recommended! We then met chef Jared and he is amazing. The care and craft he puts in to his food makes sense hearing his stories, especially that he serves the art community with specialized food to match the art on display; what a cool concept! He even assisted us in buying a piece on display from a local artist. As yes, they have local art up on display - a great idea for a restaurant! Note for parking: use the valet. It's insane otherwise!

Really enjoyed The Alden!! Service was very kind and friendly but slow at times on a Saturday night…read morewhich was understandable. At first there was a mix up with who was serving us do we got explained the drink menu twice. After our appetizer, we waited about 30-40 minutes for the rest of our items which took longer than we thought. They did give us some house made popcorn to keep us busy. Jahjoy pork belly: Tasty & tendor. I loved the papaya salad which left a refreshing contrast. A bit too saucy for me. Flavors were strong. Squid ink bucatini: our favorite! Must get dish - bucatini is perfectly al dente & the spicy sauce was very flavorful. Jumbo shrimp was delicious, and the anchovy on top left a nice strong flavor. Red snapper: This has some Vietnamese influences with the sauce. It was a lighter dish which was just OK for me, I would have liked the fish to have a crispier skin. Not much flavor besides the sauce which is inspired by canh chua. Wagyu flank steak: cooked to perfection and flavored well, loved the celery puree which was much tastier than we expected celery to be. Dessert was mint chocolate cake which was very tasty. I wish the cake was softer and meltier in the center but it was still good. Malt gelato was delicious. Could def taste the mintiness. Creme pat along the edges was a nice add to the cake with cacao nibs and popcorn for a textural contrast. I enjoyed it!! Overall we had a great meal and could tell the ingredients were very fresh. The presentation for all the dishes was beautiful!! We can tell the chef puts care in his food :) Appreciated the personal touch - they gave a handwritten card to my husband for his birthday!

Great seafood and service!…read more Let's get into it! Location and Parking Located in Chamblee, there is plenty of free parking available as it is in a shopping center. I saw previous reviews mentioning that parking was a challenge, however I visited on a weekday so I didn't have that issue. Venue and Atmosphere The interior is sleek yet casual, with plenty of sunlight from floor to ceiling windows. Feel free to browse the selection of fresh seafood as you enter. Food and drinks I visited with friends and we shared several appetizers: oxtail gumbo, salmon bites, grilled oysters. They were all delicious and flavorful. Service Service was friendly, prompt, and efficient Verdict I'll be back!

Wow--let's talk about this dining experience…read more The oxtail gumbo? My first time trying it, and definitely not my last. Every bite was rich, comforting, and fully satisfying. Then came the salmon bites on wonton--crispy, flavorful, and such a perfect balance of texture. For the entrée, the pasta with salmon was not only delicious but a generous portion that didn't miss. And for something sweet... the bread pudding? So moist, topped with ice cream and Oreos--it was giving indulgence in the best way. But what really sealed the night for me was the coffee pairing. It took the show and brought everything together beautifully. I also loved the range of the menu--there's something for every craving. The service was excellent, and the food presentation matched the quality. Honestly had me thinking, what took me so long to dine here? Especially since I'm in this area often. Bonus: patio seating for outdoor season, plus easy access with self-parking, valet, or a parking deck.

Looks a little sketchy from outside and surrounding area, but don't worry it's a good place! Discovered this place via yelp, searching for a dinner location anout halfway between Decatur and Lawrenceville, as we were meeting friends and neither of us wanted to travel too far. Seeking economical choice with good food & drinks. Mission accomplished here! Wasn't our first choice. Dining on a Monday is hard, as so many restaurants are closed. But it turned out to be an excellent choice, as we loved our apps, drinks and meals. Had a nice size table with plenty of room in the quieter dining area in the back, away from the bar and TVs. There are TVs in back area as well, just not as many. Started with the nachos with beef chili, and the blackened brussel sprouts. Both were delicious and gone quickly! I had the cheeseburger salad. After all this deep fried, heavy southern food and grits, wanted something a little lighter. The portion was huge, and it was delicious. Onion rings were delicious. Huge plate for a side dish. Others had various wraps, and everyone loved their meals. Good tap beer selection. We had a variety of cold ones. If you're in the area looking for a good local, affordable place to have a meal or drinks, pick this spot. Its family friendly as well.

We usually have to circle around to find a spot, and walk to the restaurant. We came by for lunch on a Sunday. I like both the exterior and the interior design of the restaurant. The server was friendly and professional. We ordered drinks and two entrées. There was only one other table besides us, so just two tables total in the restaurant. After our drinks arrived, it took more than 45 minutes for the food to come out. The food itself was delicious. We had the half chicken and the trout. The ingredient quality is high, you can really taste it. However, the wait time was a bit too long, especially considering how empty the restaurant was. Aside from the long wait, everything else was good. I wonder if the delay was because we came shortly after they opened for lunch, but if they're open, the kitchen should be ready. Overall, the food is quite good, though the entree menu is somewhat limited, if excluding the pasta. If you're in the area, it's definitely worth trying. Personally, I'm not sure if I would come back. I'd rather not experience that long wait again, but maybe it was just an off day when I visited.

My sister and I enjoyed White Bull's Apertivo Hour and we definitely see ourselves coming back!…read more Reservations: We made reservations; however, I'm not sure they are necessary for Apertivo Hour. There was plenty of seating when we were walked in. Parking: This spot is located in downtown Decatur, so there are a variety of paid parking options (street parking, parking decks). Make sure to read the signs as there may be free parking on Sundays. Food: We ordered so much from the menu! Our favorite was the Heirloom Tomatoes, so make sure you grab that. It paired perfectly with the Bread & Butter. We also ordered the Crispy Potatoes, the Cacio e Pepe, and the Rigatoni. We weren't the biggest fans of the Rigatoni. There was what we think were raisins in there, which really threw things off. Drinks: There are so many options from cocktails to wine to beer. We both opted for aperitifs and enjoyed them! Vibe: We really enjoyed the space. It's small and intimate, and the staff is friendly and welcoming.
