This place is a must visit if you're ever in the Dingle area. Just a few blocks north of the marina and you'll get to experience some really great seafood. There could be a wait so just get your name on the list and they'll text/call you when your table is ready. The staff is great and service is top notch. The place is very casual and kid friendly. Highly recommend their seafood chowder.... it was yummy!

Food was simple and good. We got the patatas bravas, the bone in fish special, and the smash burger. All was good

The Fish Box lives up to the hype, and I love supporting family-owned businesses. I have a co-worker who grew up in Dingle and highly recommended this as a "must try" in Dingle during our visit. We ordered the tacos and the fish box to share. The seafood tacos were massive, piled high with battered fish and a fresh salad that brought lightness to the fried fish. The fish box was a great choice for a little bit of everything: fish, calamari, and prawns. This meal, paired with a half-pint of Guinness, was heavenly. The calamari was my favorite. If we had longer, I would go back and get an order of the calamari by itself. No reservations, just an ongoing wait list. Don't let this deter you; it is worth the wait. We ended up walking in around 3 pm for a very late lunch on a Wednesday in October and were seated immediately.

We wanted to try to avoid some of the crowds and checked in at the Fish Box for an early dinner. The wait lasted around half an hour which wasn't too long. Notification was via a text message and international phone numbers were no issue. Once seated we already had an idea of what we wanted from the menu which listed a decent selection of fried and non fried choices. The crispy chilli hake started out as a sweet and crispy dish but after a while this sauce just overpowered the meal. I think it would've been better to get the sauce on the side and consume to my liking. The fish box was more than enough variety to get a taste for their "submerged" seafood menu. Crisp and hot. Our server was very friendly and did a good job with updates on our order, fast delivery from the kitchen and check ins after our food was served.

I dont get it. It wasn't good and it was expensive and very long wait. We were very unimpressed. Personally would look elsewhere. Ate couple bites before gave up and server didnt even question what was wrong. I guess they are used to people not able to eat it. Bread was best part. Hubby tried soup and didnt like it either.

Some of the best fish and chips I've ever have. Service was super fast and the food came out quick and piping hot. The restaurant and bathrooms were very clean. They take a lot of pride in their restaurant.

The staff was very attentive and friendly at this popular family run business. They offer a shareable seafood platter that we enjoyed along with a cup of chowder and crab arancini. The soup was delicious. The arancini were crispy and tasty but seemed a bit pricey for 3 pieces. The seafood platter was good but the calamari, while cooked perfectly were on the soggy side. They were not as delicious and crispy as the fish and shrimp on the platter. The restaurant is tastefully decorated and was very busy. We were there on a holiday weekend and felt lucky to get a table at lunchtime

I was excited by all the great reviews but for some reason all the food items we tried missed the mark. It was the tasting box with calamari monk fish etc plus chips. The fries were actually inedible and I love even cold fries so that's a huge statement ... they actually smelled like chemicals? Also not cooked enough. The fish was ok the batter fine. Just not a ton of flavor. I didn't like any of the calamari or monk fish - they all looked / tasted about the same . The coconut (?) shrimp was decent hard to mess that up. I left rather hungry. Oh and the calamari had like long stringy skin pieces you couldn't bite thru so you had to like skin it I- was kind of grossed out. Three stars because the place is super cute I loved the bathroom wallpaper and tier service was excellent

This was the favorite meal of our whole trip in Ireland! My husband had seafood chowder nearly every night and this one was the most flavorful and chock-full of different types of seafood. The pan fried hake was also fantastic - incredibly fresh fish and a delicious garlic sauce. The restaurant was quite busy but service was still attentive and timely. The nautical decor made for a fun ambience, especially given the fish is caught locally on the Dingle Peninsula!

The fish box was a nice and relatively casual place to eat within dingle! When we came, there were several families! Food: we ordered the fish and chips and chicken sandwich and both were really good! The fish and chips were not as greasy as they normally are! Service: great service! Our waitress was so friendly! Ambience: low key, casual ambience!

There was a bit of a wait, but it was well worth it. The staff were super friendly and welcoming. I ordered the fish and chips, and the fish was fried to perfection: light, crispy, and flavorful. Honestly, some of the best fish and chips I've ever had. Highly recommend!

Holy O'Shit! One of the Top 2 Chowders I've ever eaten! Had the Fish and Chips and my wife had the Fish Box.... Both were great. But the Chowder.... Amazing! Dingle is a cool destination and Ireland was been awesome, but I will truly always remember this chowder.

Mussels (box combo?) can't remember the name.

The service was great. The food was OK. Definitely a place to go if you're in Dingle, but I'd rather go to Dick Mack's and spend all the nights money there or at another local haunt.

We ordered the following: Starters *House cured salmon and cod in nori seaweed - excellent, sushi quality, the cod was nice and salty, portion wasn't the largest *Warm smoked mackerel with horseradish and dill dressing - really tasty and a nice portion *Flash pan squid with chiles and coriander- outstanding with a kick Mains *Pan fried black sole on the bone, dill, and toasted almond butter-maybe the star of the show, a large portion, fall of the bone and the toasted almond butter was awesome *OOTB fish selection; John Dory, sole and halibut fillets served with a lobster sauce - the fish was great, but the lobster sauce had zero flavor *Dingle bay lobster from the tank- we got the last one, it was excellent The beer and wine were excellent. The service was great. The interior had a tile floor with a sort of Mexican fishing village theme. Reasonably priced for top level fresh seafood. Highly recommend.

The front is a basic and unassuming, but neat, blue building. Inside remains simple, but quality, with light wood, soft light, and sea themed decor. As the menu changes so frequently, a dish can run out that evening, it is handwritten on a chalkboard that is brought to the table. It was very difficult to choose, the entire menu was well done. The brown bread was also the best of the trip, theirs had more seeds and the right balance of dense. Be careful to not fill up on bread as you will not want to miss any of the rest of the meal. Since the menu changes so frequently, describing what we ordered is not helpful. Both dishes were incredible, fresh, cooked perfectly, and with interesting and well matched ingredients. We ate every possible bite. We managed to save room and share a dessert, worth every calorie. I'm surprised to see any negative reviews. In my option, for the quality of the meal, the prices were completely reasonable. If you are in Dingle (which if you go to Ireland you absolutely should as the town deserves a visit), make reservations!

Based on a recommendation, we made sure to add Boatyard to our itinerary while visiting Dingle. We grabbed a late lunch, both got fish and chips, and one of us got a cocktail. The fish and chips were tasty, not the best I've ever had. The fish was well fried and flaky sided with your standard chips/fries served with ketchup and house made tartar sauce, which was honestly the best part of the dish! Service was friendly and welcoming from entry to exit. The space is cute with a large main dining room up front with lots of natural lights and large windows looking g at the bay. There is a cozier dining room inside, along with two outdoor spaces once more formal than the other. The front patio looks great, but sadly du to weather and season, it was closed. Overall, we enjoyed our meal at The Boatyard. Definitely recommend it when in Dingle!

As we waited the tables started to fill up and, while hesitant about the reviews we read, we were encouraged by the number of people arriving. We enjoyed our drinks and thankfully got our order taken before the large group of 12 beside us and 3 other tables. While the appetizer came quickly. Our main courses didn't arrive until after ALL the other tables had ordered, were served and most of the people had finished their meals! During this period we were checked on once and were assured our meals were on their way. Then ignored. When we mentioned the extraordinarily long time that we waited and was told there was nothing they could do but apologize......a complimentary dessert....a drink on the house. Nothing! Service: inattentive and uncaring Food: Calamari was tender but the lettuce on the salad was wilted on old Tortellini tasteless and barely warm Mussels overcooked and gritty but the sauce was tasty. Served with a piece of soda bread that was cold from refrigeration. Atmosphere: Nice view, with outside seating if weather permits, it is a very noisy restaurant due to the acoustics of the interior's design. A very disappointing dining experience and a very sad experience for our first night in Dingle. Not at all worth the price paid! There are plenty of seafood restaurants. Skip this one.

I had the Fish Pie: salmon, cod, smoked haddock in white wine cream sauce topped with mash(ed potatoes). It had plentiful fish and was served very hot. I liked the variety of fish. The smokiness from the haddock complemented the simpler flavors of the cod and salmon. Potato topping was slightly browned under the broiler. The fries were good. This also came with another excellent pre-dressed small green salad and good coleslaw: light on the mayonnaise, tangy, and peppery. The wife had the fish and chips and I thought it the best of at least 3 we've had in Ireland. The batter was consistently crunchy, thickness appropriate for the fish, and the portion generous. Again, served with sides of the same green salad and coleslaw, and more mushy peas. I think the wife likes these more than I do. The server was welcoming, the surroundings inviting, and we spent a relaxing 35 minutes or so and, refreshed, continued our walking tour. Sadly didn't get to try the Sticky Toffee Pudding because we had planned on ice cream down the street. Looking at the website just now I see they have rooms upstairs. We shared a beetroot salad, which was excellent with yummy garlic bread. Sticky toffee pudding was the finale. It was good, not great. The edges were a little dry and the dough was coarse, not smooth and velvety as I hoped because of others I have had in the past elsewhere.
