I contacted another backflow company to conduct our yearly fire sprinkler backflow test and that's…read morewhen all the problems started. The technician said it failed inspection because of a leak. So, he told me that he needed to order a gasket repair kit and clean out the valves and gave me an estimate. But even after the replacement, it still kept leaking. So, then he said that it maybe a faulty check valve or "something more" and therefore, the safest alternative was to replace the entire assembly, which would've cost around $8,000+. So, I prayed and then started looking around for a 2nd opinion. That's when I found Dave. Dave came out to the site and did see that the backflow valve was leaking. He called me, gave me an estimate (which I thought was very reasonable) and took the backflow assembly apart. In less than 30 minutes, he examined both check valves and realized that there was nothing wrong with them. The problem was that one of the valves wasn't tightened properly and that was causing the leakage. He also commented that in his 20 years of testing and repairing backflow valves, he's never seen a valve this loose before. After tightening everything, it passed inspection immediately! Dave is the man! He is honest and very knowledgeable. He literally knows backflow assemblies inside-out and is my go-to guy for all backflow related issues.

Our small HOA recently had our backflow valves tested for 2025 by the company we had used for…read moreyears. We had a problem with one of the valves last year and had it replaced to the tune of $850. Imagine our surprise when we got the results of this year's testing and the same valve failed again and, once again, needed to be replaced. After multiple attempts to speak with the company, we finally got an email saying that those valves are not very sturdy and the AZ heat causes them to fail routinely. Since the valve was less than a year old, that didn't make sense to us, so we decided to bring in another company for a second opinion. That was when we found F6 Backflow Services. We spoke to Dave, the owner, on the phone and explained our situation. He said it sounded "off" to him, too, so we made arrangements for him to come out, take a look at it, and see what he could do. This bell is important because it alerts neighbors if the sprinklers inside the house are running. Keep in mind that prices for this type of work will be higher than for standard plumbing services, as fire sprinkler systems require specialized expertise. A year later, I called them about an odd late-night knocking in my pipes and a humming from the electronic switch in the garage that controls the fire sprinklers. Although they didn't need to come out for a visit, they were very patient, answering my questions and coordinating with the plumber who was at my house. I was very hesitant...what were they going to try and sell me? I figured they'd come up with something that was wrong and then overcharge me to recoup their money. But free...figured I'd give it a shot. Guy showed up, asked about my concerns, and then hopped up on my roof. 10 minutes later he came down and I prepared myself for the sales pitch. He said my pipe looked great, explained how it was connected at the house, marked my buried clean-outs and said "Everything looks great! Have a great day!" and walked off. I couldn't believe it! The Plumber Guy came with the highest of recommendation from a friend to come out and help with a clog in our shower. We were first time home owners that didn't know a lot about our new house and our home warranty had just expired, so we went with this company instead of the one that had previously come. We put all of our trust in The Plumber Guy. The whole experience FELT like an upsell, but I didn't realize how much of grift job it was until we had another company else come out. They said we didn't have ground level clean out and they would need to be installed (we do) they said that they could see roots in their video and we need to get new casting for our pipes (we don't) and they said the only way to clean it was to hydro jet it from the roof for $1200, or pull up the pipes. They were wrong. Two people came out and we paid them to do they hyrdo-jet. Our lines worked great for 8 months and then the problem occurred again. When I called to try and get any imaging for the video we HAD to pay for, no one had a copy, and we never saw one. They had zero warranty or recommendation on their work. All they suggested was to redo our pipes. Called someone else and they came out same day and cleared the line for $220, showed me where all our pipes run including all our ground level clean outs they said we didn't have, they gave me a copy of the video showing zero roots, and tested our water. This should be one star, but I gave them two because they did do the work they said they would, even though it wasn't what we needed and we were royally priced gouged, it was my fault for being trusting. I won't make that mistake again and neither should you.
