Assuming that this restaurant is Cote Brasserie, not the Filling Station, as the previous reviewer suggested, I thought it was great. Excellent French food (for a British chain) with impeccable service. The ambiance is date-worthy, but it would also be good to come with family or friends. Due to the prices, there are few (if any) students on any given night, so it's more of an adult ambiance. It's right at the centre. This restaurant is on the pricier side, but is one of the limited number of Cantabrigian restaurants where I feel you can be guaranteed a really solid, rewarding meal with consistently pleasant service. For a better-deal pricewise, I recommend the "early evening" (pre-7 PM) menu, with 2 courses for £10 or 3 courses for £12. With drinks, you'll come in under £20 pp.
Note that they also have a breakfast/brunch menu, which I have not tried. The morning clientele seemed to be mostly tourist families, with some retired locals. read more
