My husband buys our dog food and chicken feed there. They always have what we need and always answer the phone.

My dogs had been reacting badly to their latest bag of food, so I did some research and decided to try them on a brand named Victor.

DO NOT BUY A PET from here. I purchased a bunny for my son and it died about 3 hrs later. The bunny…read morewas fine until my son put him in his cage. He went back 30 mins later and the bunny was lying on its side, stiff with eyes wide open. Now we have 2 older rabbits and they have always been very healthy. This bunny was by himself. I called the pet store and the owner answered. I told her what happened and she immediately accused me of killing the rabbit. She said her rabbits were perfectly healthy and it was my son's fault for holding him too much. We hold our rabbits all the time! She was very rude and accusitory. She stated "Well I guess I'll have to replace it. But it will be Monday morning because we r about to close." I only live about 10 minutes away and didn't want my son (age 5) to know the bunny had died so I asked if they would wait until I got there and she said no. They were tired and wanted to go home. I had to find an individual on the internet that had some bunnies for sale that looked like the other one. I called the Pet store owner on Monday morning and explained I already purchased another rabbit and was afraid to take another one from her store incase it was ill and would make my other rabbits ill. She was very offended and RUDE RUDE RUDE. She hung the phone up on me. I called back 3 times trying to tell her that I will just take another bunny and keep it seperated. She hung up on me 3 times after accusing me of "killing the rabbit." I will never buy another thing from this pet shop. I warn anyone that potentially wants to purchase anything from here. Things happen with rabbits, reptiles etc. I understand. Even PetSmart offeres a 14 day return policy just in case. No one knows when it comes to these animals. It's not a dog! She was just rude and accusitory!! BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!

First grooming experience…read more Never had a problem in the store; However, the grooming salon was a different experience. First, let me say, I have an 11 month old lab puppy--He is hyper and can be hard to deal with because he is always happy, playful but very strong. I chose a male groomer for this purpose and made PetSmart aware when making the appointment that he can be hard to control. Since I have bathed him at Pet Market, I know these people have restraints for strong dogs. While the groomer was okay when I talked with him at drop off, I did not have a good feeling when I left. The entire vibe was off in the room with everyone and I already knew I would not be back when I signed the paperwork. I went up the road to Chick-fil-A and waited with the phone beside me. The manager called an hour later and said they couldn't do a service, which was a relief to pick him up. The manager explained he was too hyper but was nice about it. I was also told me when I got there, my dog had lunged at a couple of other dogs, which is uncharacteristic of him since he is a lover not a fighter. He is still a dog nonetheless and I was not there. They did offer another appointment time when it was calmer for him when I picked him up. I declined. Overall, I just didn't get the impression many of these groomers cared for animals. The vibe was off for a reason and that's enough for me.

Extremely Rude and Arrogant…read more Wrote a review back in February and gave the place high marks. They still do a great job on grooming but at a price and I don't mean financial. Biggest problem we have had is the length of time it takes to get Watson groomed. Can take up to 5 hours but they swear it was only 4 but still 4 is a bit long. Normally my wife will drop Watson off and either she or I will pick him up. First a bit about Watson. Watson is a 18 months old this next week and loves people. He is what is called a "fluffy" which means he has a recessive gene and rather that have the soft silky inner coat and a course water proof coat on top, he has little of the top coarse coat. Coat is very silky and soft but somewhat long and still needs to be brushed out and like all Corgi's they shed a lot so they have to have the long hair combed out. It does take time and in addition, Corgi's grow lots of hair between their toes which needs to be cut out and we also pay extra to trim his nails. He's not low maintenance but we've always paid extra for that level of attention and as mentioned, the outcome has always been excellent. My wife mentioned that she thought the 4 - 5 hours seemed a bit excessive and it ended up with us sitting around the house, waiting for a call or going up at around 3 after dropping him off at around 10 or 11 am and still not ready. Susan, my wife when she addressed this, was told they have an Express Service where you drop the dog off at an appointed time and they the call you 10 minutes before they are finished with grooming. When my wife called to make the appointment and gave the information, someone in the background called out a warning " It's the Corgi" alerting everyone that this was going to be a high maintenance appointment. My wife booked an appointment for 8:00am which we thought was odd because they do not open till 9:00am. Still she showed up at 8:00 am along with three other patrons and 4 other dogs. None of the three groomers showed up till 8:05 am or later. Several hours later, we did get the call to pick him up. My wife left the house shortly thereafter and rather than leave Watson in the car while she went into Walgreens, she stopped on the way and picked up one item and then to PetSmart. She walked in and told the people at the front that she was there to pick up Watson and while she was waiting, she asked the manager about dog food. We are changing Watson's Dog Food in light of recent FDA findings and they did not carry or only carried larger bags of the new food recommended by our Vet. Susan has asked before and was told they were working on it. About that time, someone came from the back with Watson and we were told not to bring Watson back for Express Grooming because we had failed to show up within the 10 minute window of the call. At no point was it communicated that the "we will call you 10 minutes before" was a line in the sand and if you did not respond, we would be penalized. Someone later tried to explain that Express was generally used for Service Animals where time was limited but personally I think this was someone trying to make excuses. Susan looked at the receipt tonight and we were charged $11.00 for the Express Service but this was never a charge explained upfront. Not that that is a big issue because there would have been no problem with the $11.00 if we had got what we needed without the drama of "you can't bring Watson back" etc Grooming is excellent but the attitude and arrogance nd the way customers are treated is unacceptable. We will not be back and are currently looking for a groomer in the North Mecklenburg area. Susan is afraid to take Watson back here of a fear of retaliation for this review.
