Service and selection are amazing. The store is beautiful and organized. It's just a little pricey.

One of the better exchanges in the state, we came here for some cheap games and ended up getting quite a few. This exchange has been for years of stable in Kent Ohio and everyone who loves games will find something here. We came here for the 50th anniversary Namco games and a few classics. I came here a while ago and got some really great Smallville trading cards. Old school or new school this place got it all. And the service is awesome. read more

Decent sized store considering they used to be in a smaller place. Great selection of stuff, new and used, for decent prices. EXCELLENT customer service. Nice people who are always around to help. Quick, with the exception of the holiday season. Across from KSU so expect the college crowd. Parking is a bear, but otherwise good location. read more

Well they have great stuff, but I don't appreciate that immediately after my friend and I stepped foot into the store, we were greeted by an employee telling us to leave our bags behind the checkout counter. Now I can understand why a store would WANT to do this, but I don't think this is very professional or polite. This has happened to us before so it's not a first time occurrence. No one else who enters the store after us was asked to do the same. Kinda disappointing. read more

This place is horrible they sold me the wrong Xbox and one of the employees acted like he wasn't even there and the manger is the one who sold me a Xbox one s and I asked for a Xbox one x and got the wrong item and they caused a bunch of problems and basically said screw you and made me pay full price for there mistake and they were clueless with there inventory and they didn't even know what they had I highly recommend to not go there. They will burn you. Also they were threatening to call the cops on me ban me from the store or just buy the Xbox so I said screw it and bought it and left I'm never going there again! The Exchange is a fantastic store that has had my service for many years and will continue to have it in the future. That is why I am disappointed to say that the Exchange in Kent, OH has the rudest and most incompetent staff I have ever dealt with in my life. Not only does one feel unwanted in this store but I also did not want to be in this store as it is filthier than a bathroom at a state fair and infested with cockroaches that you can see crawling around the shelves. Luckily the Exchange in Howe Ave in Cuyahoga Falls is not too far down the road. read more

If you're going to tell someone they'll get a full refund, make sure they get their full refund. Not last minute mention a "restocking fee" for a system I had for a night and returned. I love this place. I could spend hours in there (and have) and never see all I want to. Only real complaint about this place is it's pretty small. But they can't really help that. They're in a bigger place than they used to be, so that's a step in the right direction. Staff are generally helpful and knowledgeable. Can call other Exchanges if you can't find what you're looking for in that particular location and have it shipped to that store. That's excellent service in my book. The prices are killer, too. You just can't go wrong at The Exchange, especially this one! read more

Yikes. What happened to this place? First of all, I am NEVER one to complain, let alone post a review on a website like this, but I felt as if my experiences lately have warranted this. Now don't get me wrong, some of the employees are great, or should I say WERE great. I used to shop at this location over the past few years during my college career (2010-2014) at the university which is conveniently located across the street, and it was great! The staff of 20-somethings were a joy to encounter and their passion for their jobs really shined through in their interactions with customers. They were ALWAYS willing to go the extra mile and give recommendations on different products. The environment in the store was always welcoming and overall a very pleasant experience. HOWEVER, recently this place has really begun to go downhill, and I believe it starts out with the management. On more than one occasion, I walked into the store only to be completely ignored by the short bald man who I can only assume is the manager. He acted as if he was annoyed by my presence in the store and essentially refused to help me when I specifically asked him a question and delegated the question to an employee who was at least gracious enough to attempt to help me out. I just couldn't believe the lack of customer service this manager displayed, he would not even turn his head to look at me before passing me off to someone else. The new female managers of this location also are particularly cold and unwelcoming as well. I know the Exchange has a high turnover rate in employees, but until recently the company managed to employ persons who were at least personable and able to affectively communicate with customers and make them want to be returning customers. That is pretty much all but gone... Instead of bashing this store completely, I will point out the lone brightspot of this location. The one manager, I believe his name is Caleb(?), has been the only constant at this location over my tenure in kent. He is consistently the most knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly employee this location has to offer. Caleb is a shining exmaple of what this company WAS and should once again strive to be. It's no surprise that the good reviews for this location came a few years ago, when they had a pleasant, knowledgeable staff. I'd be willing to bet the unfortunate fall from grace all started when I began seeing the short, bald manager more and more. Truly a shame. I used to love this place and would refer all my friends. Hello fellow game, music, and movie enthusiasts! I would like to start by saying the staff at this location are very welcoming and friendly. I have made two $100 sales to The Exchange within the past few weeks and I was very pleased. I took cash instead of store credit to pay bills which was immensely helpful. A minor mistake was made when I was looking over the offer receipt of my second sale. The lady happened to only add two original Xbox controllers when I was selling three. She aplogized for the mistake and gave me credit for the third controller. I also asked for an extra $5 and she quickly obliged. I walked out of the store feeling relieved and accomplished. Now this is were it gets frustrating. I left with a basket full of things they were not interested in and headed to my car to sell my Wii and some loose discs to GameStop. Actually the lady suggested I go there since they didn't buy discs without the original case. When I arrived at GameStop I was about to sell the Wii I had but they won't buy it if the sensor bar is missing. Not only that but also the little plastic stand and the sticky, foam pieces to attach it to a tv. I was distort! The Exchange did not buy my Wii because I didn't have a controller and now I couldn't sell it at GameStop because the sensor bar and parts were missing, that I know for a fact I brought into The Exchange. Driving back to the Exchange I confronted the lady whom processed my sale. She was apologetic and reassured me that they would not do such a thing. She suggested I dropped it in the parking lot. I am very certain that was not the case because I didn't see it on top of the basket and it never left my car. I was searching through the basket in my backseat while in the parking lot of GameStop with no avail. This simple event has caused me to lose money I direly need. It may not seem like a huge loss to an employee but it has caused me real trouble. I want to reiterate that the employees are kind and helpful but somewhere there is a discrepancy that has hindered me. I can't place blame on The Exchange for certain but my gut is telling me an employee is the culprit. It's too specific to lose the senor, plastic holder, and foam attachments all at the same time. If I happen to find it or the store happens to come across it I will be glad to change my review to 5 stars. Until then, these are my thoughts. read more

I was there the other day. I asked for a receipt and the guy who was making me a trade offer acted as if they couldn't give me one. I know all of the other locations offer me a receipt without any hesitation. I would not trade anything in at this location. read more
