They receive new books frequently, and carry an impressively wide array of books, especially for such a small store. Prices are great, owners are friendly, and it's even got a pretty generous loyalty program. The only downsides to me are just standard stuff. Sometimes you'll buy a book and sometimes the inside will be full of someone else's annotations. That's happened before, but it's just a risk of buying used rather than new. Same goes for potentially not having the specific book you're looking for. These are sort of universal problems for used book stores though, and are well worth it for all of the benefits. Absolutely worth your time, especially if you live nearby.

They also only do cash under $5, venmo $5+ and credit card $10+. It was my first visit so the woman allowed me to venmo her for my 2 books. I ended up sending her their minimum $5 venmo request and she said that it was really kind and they'd put the $3 towards their page it forward program where people can come get books who can't otherwise afford it!

It's not a terribly large bookstore but it has all of the basic categories you'd expect and I'd say they're pretty well-stocked in those categories. Good prices. Lots of books (did I already say that?). Per the usual, I waddled out with arms bursting with my haul. I got a mix of Clearance fiction and some new non fiction. They have cute gift items as well, and the people are friendly. I did sell back a stack on a previous trip, and was not impressed with the buy back prices, but that's pretty much normal for consignment, and it did (temporarily) reduce the book burden in my house, which was the goal. Book burden was replaced during subsequent visit and has been returned to stasis.

There WERE sections for diverse topics-they were just either empty or nearly so. Maybe a bunch of witchy liberal first peoples recently came through and they haven't recovered? There were whole aisles devoted to Christian books. All in all, not diverse but they do have nice books if you are looking for what they carry.

This shop has two floors packed to the brim with about any kind of book imaginable. An entire children's section, foreign language books, old collectors books, and more. If you wanted to put together a bookshelf full of classics that actually look like classics in worn, brown leather binding you could definitely get your start here. There is every section you expect from a book store. An extensive collection of fiction starting at the front of the store, with classics and nonfiction in the back and upstairs. The children's section is also upstairs. There are a few places where you can sit and read. This being a primarily used book store, you can sell and trade too. Highest dollar is given for nonfiction, with hardbacks being at the top of that list. You can sell your books outright with no obligation to use the money as credit only. However, like with most trade-in places, you will typically get more value if you apply it in credit than if you take it in cash. Absolutely worth a visit, even if you're just looking to browse the day away in town.

We're a family of book lovers, so the two of us thoroughly enjoyed exploring its shelves and talking with the owner. As others have noted, she's knowledgeable about the books she has, she's friendly, and she prices her books very reasonably. I was looking for books on WWI for my husband, and she quickly found a newer one I knew he did not yet have. Then she went to her basement and found a vintage book that I thought I recognized from his collection. She suggested that I photograph it, then call her if I wanted her to hold it until we visit again in a couple weeks. I'm definitely taking my husband to this store when we go see our niece in a theater production. And what a wonderful community advocate the owner is! She said she'd be closed on Sunday, but that my niece could leave a poster for Hiram's theater production in the store's mailbox and she would hang it in the door. And here, I haven't even mentioned the wonderful variety of books which are so well organized!
