Super fun place and a go-to whenever I'm dragged to Medina (by my BF hahaha). It's huge, fun to browse, fun to shop in and a great place to stock up on snacks! Love the selection of international candies, sodas and snacks but would love more if they also had more savory items. I skip the Funko pop and cards portion of the store but I do enjoy the board game collection and the photoshoot props! This time the sale section was abundant and had savory items like instant cup noodles and chips! Between the BF and me, we cleared that section out, hahaha! We finally signed up for their rewards but because Medina is so dang far from both of us, their expiration on the points you earn is only 1.5 months or something, which is quite ridiculous! Make the points never expire and encourage people to come in every once in a while to redeem! I did hear about an Independence location opening so I'll probably check that out! read more

This is a pretty neat place to check out. It's huge and full of a lot of stuff. You definitely need awhile to check it all out. For the most part everything is well organized with the exception of some of the random areas. They just have so much it takes awhile to look through. I think they'd do better putting less out so it doesn't become overwhelming for the customer. Lots of fun candy options though. They have a huge Asian area of candy and snacks. THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE GREAT NORTHERN MALL LOCATION. Soooo, I've never been to the Medina location and I can't wait to go. I love Soda. I've been in love with it since I was 5, and this is the best location I've found with selections that I've not seen since I was a kid. The place is packed with POP collectibles, games (soooo many games), collectibles, puzzles, plushies, and an enormous area of candy and soda. Imagine four awesome shops rolled into one--and then some! At its heart, it's a candy lover's paradise, offering everything from retro classics to imported snacks from Asia, plus freeze-dried treats, jellybeans, ice cream, and even rare sodas like canned Ring Pop soda. If it exists in the world of candy, chances are, they've got it. I personally picked up some nostalgic Bing Cherry candy bars and some sour cotton candy that really hit the spot. But the sweets are just the beginning. Head upstairs and you'll find an incredible selection of toys, puzzles, plushes, Funko Pops, Dungeons & Dragons, Warhammer, Legos, and more--all neatly organized by category. They've got a massive gaming area too, perfect for Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, and other tabletop games, complete with plenty of tables and chairs to host events or casual meetups. The very top floor has a smaller mix of items including comic books, clearance merchandise, sports memorabilia, and even some pet supplies. Awesome place to stock up on unique sweets, gaming supplies and pop culture collectibles! Stopped by here to check out this business, which has only been open since October. Had a great time walking around looking at all of the items available for purchase. Enjoyed looking at all of the collectibles and different candy! It was fun too seeing the various bottled sodas. If I was into gaming, this would be the place to buy supplies. The staff was helpful and friendly, and thanked me for shopping there today. Bought some candy that's hard to find and a fun lunchbox. If going for the first time, I recommend allowing at least a 1/2 hour to see everything. So much fun! read more

Sweets & Geeks is a mashup where candy store meets board game cafe. The joint opened recently and upon entry, I was expecting a candy store. Well, I got a candy store and much, much more. They have a great selection of candy from around the world, including hard-to-find Japanese Kit Kats. My wife and I spent at least 20 minutes looking around and buying candy. Some of these sweets took us back to our childhoods. Then we ventured to the back of the establishment where they have all sorts of gaming tables. This is where the Geek part of the name kicks in. They rent and sell board games and puzzles. You can try that $70 board game for two nights for just five bucks. I think that's a novel idea. The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. They have a great selection of games, including many versions of Monopoly. They opened just in time for Christmas, so if you're looking for a board game or a role playing game for someone, this is a great place to start looking. They don't sell video games or video game consoles. You can come here and play games when they host events. They also sell a few toys/dolls and many board game accessories. Very cool store! Okay so I never actually stepped foot in this store but my husband insisted I review it with 5 stars. He was thrilled to see life size statues of multiple characters, endless Marvel trinkets, games, t-shirts, figurines, posters, cards, and basically all the fandom imaginable. It's hard to find a good game store. And even harder to find one with all the games I'm into. The store itself is really large for a game store. The candy and sweets side of it is right there by the entrance and will speak to any kids (or adults with a sweet tooth). The candy selection is a good mix of expected items as well as more novelty and specialty drinks and candies. But further back is the game side of it. There are also comic books and different toys and novelty items. They have boardgames, cards, tabletop games, and even some models. They have plenty of Pokémon cards, Magic the Gathering and various other card games for those players. And the tabletop games are a good mix of Warhammer 40,000, Star Wars, and dungeons and dragons type games. There are tables for the card games and tables for the tabletop games as well that you can use. There is also a pretty good selection of painting supplies and modeling materials for any of the games where you paint and assemble your own models. I haven't checked out their website too thoroughly but the site has an order online type system for ease as well. All in all, it seems like a pretty fun establishment for those looking to play their games as well as for others looking for easy gift ideas. Then of course there is the sugary side of it! read more

Sweets and Geeks was a great addition to Medina and this business has consistently grown over the last several years. They have candy galore.. including very unique and hard to find types - although I will always choose the different varieties of Sour Patch Kids! We bring the kids here to let them pick out candy and check out the extensive card section which includes Pokemon, sports cards, Lorcana (Disney) and Magic/Dungeons and Dragons type cards. They also have a very wide variety of collectibles, toys, and games - there is a section of the store where people can hang out and play any number of board or card games. The one area of the store that needs improvement is the boba tea. It often takes a long time to get your order and the tea, in my opinion, isn't as good as the other options in the city. Be sure to subscribe to their social media pages and stay in the loop for special events. Don't forget to join their rewards program! Today was the second time I have visited this location. I have been there both times with my son. Both times we were followed by store staff who made it very obvious they thought we were up to no good. My son has stated every time he's in there this happens to him. I advised him to shop and spend his money elsewhere. Apparently they have an issue with his tattoos and his friends have also experienced the same thing when they have shopped there. Drive to Mayfield to the Warhammer store, they are less expensive and they are not going to treat you like a criminal as soon as they see your tattoos. read more

The place is nice and big with a fairly decent selection. It seems clean and well maintained. My only complaint is the staff of the game section. I was never left alone to browse. Three different employees felt the need to either quiz me on what games I played, ask if I was "confused about all this", or explain how dice work. I get that I'm older, so they made an assumption that I knew nothing about gaming, but they shouldn't. Nor should they do it with arrogant attitudes. How did I not know about this gem in Medina until recently? This place has virtually any sweet candy treat you would want, both well-known US candies, and sweet and savory treats from around the world. They have a kitchen that serves ice cream, popcorn, sandwiches, coffee, drinks, etc. Aside from the candy, they have rooms upon rooms of collectibles. Anything you could want is there, except comics. While they have modern books, they are poorly kept, and don't have any back issues or valuable books. No slabs, keys, or grails. They have plenty of personnel walking around to help you find things, and you need help because stuff is scattered everywhere. The building is amazing from top to bottom, and one could spend hours there reliving their childhood memories. Just an awesome vibe.
