Very nice store. Bigger than Grandpa Joes. Large selection of candy and seasonings. There is also things to make cakes with and containers as well. This is one of my favorite food locations in Akron. All my candy desires can be satisfied here. Bonus, if I am trying to be somewhat healthy, there's even some bulk nuts and dried fruits to find. There's a snack here for anyone. This store has been open since 1986, since the plaza was opened. I really hope this business stays open for at least another 33 years. It's always fun coming here because I always see a candy I forgot about from my childhood. The service is really friendly and it is very easy to find what I need. The aisles are organized by candy types, nuts and chocolates. In the back sections, there's even bulk oats, all types of flours and even spices to buy in bulk! The process is very simple here and the staff people do not follow you around. Everything is priced by the pound and there are scales and tags to label your items found conveniently in every aisle. There's a fun candy selection and also soda selection with very unique flavors. This is definitely a must visit if you are feeling nostalgic or have a severe sweet tooth to treat. read more

I'm not fond of the location, but this place is the best! They had a bunch of older candy, such a candy cigarettes, and a bunch of newer ones. I got my favorites, buttered popcorn jelly belly's and some gummy bears, yet was able to partake in odd flavored soda and new flavor Nerds!!! I love trying new things, so that made the construction hassle worth it! The personnel was very informative and helpful in finding what hubby and I wanted. Everyone was very kind! These folks are really responding to and helping with the whole COVID crisis in the best of ways. They've put a lot of staples on their website. They have more (candy, for example) that's not on the website yet but you can call and ask about. They're doing Paypal for the online materials and curb side pickup. You can pay for everything via card at curbside if you like. Their customer service (phone and curbside) is the very best. read more

I have loved this place for years and never miss it when I stop in Akron! Great candy selection, huge variety of melting chocolate, and lots of dry goods like beans and several types of gluten free flours. I am seriously impressed by the COVID protocols that Mr. Bulky's has in place. As of 6/1/21 masks are still required, customers are required to sanitize upon entry and/or wear gloves, use individual sanitized pens throughout the store, and use an individual sanitized scoop per item. Some of the best COVID safety protocols I have seen, and honestly not a bad practice for a bulk store even outside a pandemic. I would love to see the required hand sanitizing stick around forever, because you really know the bins are clean. read more

I just tried to go my first time in weeks. Everyones been telling me I need to check it out. The hours showed online opened till 8pm,I started walking up at at 7:01 pm and some kids ran excitedly to the door and were disappointed it was locked. So sadly they turned around and so did I. Great place to go for a sweet tooth. There are like thousands of sweets and candies to choose from. They have everything from candy melts to Peanut Butter and Jelly flavored soda. They even have some of the old classics like the bug suckers you used to get in grade school and candy cigarettes. I feel like their products are pretty fairly priced as well. Most candies are charged by the pound, but you can get some individually. Another plus about this place is the spice aisle. They have an assortment of spices and ingredients that are priced by pound. They have spices and flours you can't find in your average grocery store, bullion cubes and baking utensils. I love this store. The only thing that is wrong with this website is that our store hours are 10-8 and not 9-8. The majority of items that are sold here are very cheap in bulk. I have also been coming here ever since I was a baby, which was about 15 years ago. This store has employed my family ever since before I was born. and I am now employed here. It is a wonderful place to work at and to buy candy, spices, and chocolate. Please change the store hours yelp so we don't keep getting people coming in at 9 in the morning. Thank you. read more

When I was in elementary school, this was the kind of place that made me excited to know that one day, I too, would drive a car. The candy selection is nearly limitless and being that it's all in bulk, curiosities need not go unfulfilled. They also have all the necessary crap for any sort of silly little party. They don't have anything for bachelorette parties, last I checked, so you won't find any dildo action, but that's forgivable. i love this place. I do feel like the customer service issues some people have had are legit. They aren't the friendliest bunch of people but there is one young guy (in his 20s) that is quite helpful. Everyone else only talks to you when you get to the register. Adn I know this might sound strange...but the lighting is bad. I feel like its always dark in there. And I wish that they had a better selection of cupcake/cake/candy boxes and such.
