Trip Review - Kidforce Collectibles Kidforce Collectibles Kidforce Collectibles Pinball League…read more It was awesome going into Berea And stopping at Kidforce Collectibles. Unfortunately, I went on Joe, the owner's off day, so I didn't get a chance to say hi to him, but his staff is always warm and friendly. I dig the amount of Star Wars memorabilia he has, along with all the other toys, collectible card games, tabletop games, and of course, the pinball machines. He also has new Comics weekly along with some back issues, stickers, supplies, and some really great statues. They run Magic the Gathering nights and other gaming functions please jump on their Facebook page to see their schedule. If you're looking for collectible card games singles, they also have probably one of the largest supplies in Northeast Ohio. Check out the 55 pictures I shot. Anytime I shoot 55 pictures tells me that there's so much goodness in there that I can't make up my mind which pictures to shoot. We appreciate the support that they've given us over years. We've loved to have folks go and say hi to them. Kidforce is easy to get to, right in downtown Berea .

Primarily a review for Kidforce Pinball since I didn't see a separate listing here for it. Went by…read morebefore my flight back home and arrived at noon but the arcade doesn't open up til 2pm but the owner of Kidforce was there and opened it up for me to flip in early which was super generous. The machines also played really well and had a good mix from solid states through the latest Stern release, The Uncanny X-Men. Had a great time on the machines which range from $0.50 to $1 a play and even put up some initials. Definitely a fun spot to flip at and they also have video games. The owner mentioned to me that they are getting their liquor license soon so you'll be able to have a beer while you flip in the future!

Trip Review : Nine Realms Comics & Games Nine Realms Comics and Gaming in Fairlawn/ Montrose area…read moreright at the corner of Cleveland Massillon Rd and Medina Rd ( RT 18). I stopped and saw Brian for the first time. Great location in West Akron. West Akron has needed a friendly-neighborhood comic and gale shop for a long time. Everything is well-displayed and well lit. New comics weekly, back issues and supplies. Back issues plus card games, table top and other games. I saw a plethora of graphic novels plus some premium wall books. They have a large gaming area and posted gaming nights. Check out the photos for statues and pops. Over all a great looking , nicely organized shop. Stop in and support them! They are in the corner of the plaza.

The problem occurs though when the people involved with local stores prove to be untrustworthy and uncommunicative. Todd ran a campaign on Kickstarter "Along a Burning River Volume 2 - Stories of Ohio", which was originally expected to delivery a graphic novel with art entirely drawn by Ohio Artists. This graphic novel was supposed to be delivered in August 2022. The backers have yet to recieve this graphic novel. I can be understanding of delays, but the lack of communication is unproffessional and infuriating. The last update Todd posted on Kickstarter was posted June 5, 2023, more than 20 months ago. That post indicated that the content was basically done, and we were waiting on design and layout. The last post prior to that was November of 2022, in which he apologized for the "long overdue update." You might be asking yourself, why I'm writing a negative review for a brick and mortar store, when someone associated with the store was running a theoretically independent kickstarter to create a graphic novel. However, its clearly a related product, and Todds Kickstarter profile linked to multiple different social media accounts, and at least one of them mentions Nine Realms Comics and Gaming. Part of the reason I had for trusting Todd, was because of his association with Nine Realms. This review feels like it might be unfair to the rest of the staff, as most of the people I know who work for or own a comic book store are wonderful, and interesting people. However, my experience with this one individual is so negative that I felt like I had to say something. If you do business here, I hope your experience is better than mine.

Having just moved here from NY, and specifically, rural, backwoods New York, I was floored to find that there was a comic book store near me. Upon my first entry, I found the entirety of the Watchmen comic series via DC Compact for $10, and I couldn't believe it. I bought it, read it cover to cover, and came back the next day. This was about a month ago, maybe a little longer now, and I've been back several times since. In fact, it's actually become a bit of a routine. Located less than half a mile from the UA campus, it's very convenient for me to walk on down during my breaks between classes. Even when it's not necessarily, "convenient" for me to come in, they've incentivized me to take the walk during weekends with their $1 Independent Sales, an absolutely absurd value for anybody, like me, who spends the majority of their comic-reading time with publishers beyond Marvel and DC. So far, I've met about three of the resident staff members, and haven't a harsh word about any of them. They are all kind, well-informed and decent people who never fail to help their patrons find what they're looking for, or offer interest-based recommendations to those who are unsure of their next read. All in all, Rubber City Comics is a wonderful shop. I cannot recommend giving them your business enough, especially as we enter an increasingly digital era of shopping and marketing. Support your local brick-and-mortar stores, and be sure to support this one as well, they absolutely deserve it.
