I didn't really know about this store until my church friend, John, suggested the store to me because that is where he found his Bible cover. So, I came to find myself a Bible cover for a new Bible that I bought a week prior. I bought the Bible while in Chicago which is a used Life Application Study Bible that I randomly found for $1 at a bookstore. I was able to find a brown covered Bible cover here at Books-A-Million in October 2025. It has an Ephesians Bible verse on the front cover (Put on the Full Armor of God) and side pockets on the inside of it. I also like the side handle to carry the Bible cover. While at the store, a guy friend from church called me and asked me to find him a large print Catholic Bible (with the aprophcyha) but I couldn't find the exact one that he liked. I ended up returning back to Books-A-Million on October 31, 2025 to buy a Catholic Bible for him. A few others later chipped in money to use in purchasing this Catholic Bible for his birthday in November. I couldn't find a large print Catholic Bible with Jesus words in red so I bought a regular print one with Jesus words in red plus a Bible magnifier. I returned to the store in November 2025 to look for something that they didn't have but per my posted photos, I bought some Dubai Chocolates (I am writing this review almost a year later). INSIDE -- the store is large and organized by various sections. BOOKS GALORE -- There are many books to choose from, including fiction and non-fiction. They offer books in areas of business, religion, mysteries, sports, romance, etc SERVICE -- It may be difficult to find help because the store is large. When I finally found assistance, the employee was helpful during my two October 2025 visits. I remember during my first October visit, the employee walked around the Bible section of the store with me trying to help me find a specific Catholic Bible. I'll definitely be back again if I am looking to buy a specific book (I traditionally shop at local bookstores). I stopped and saw Brian for the first time. Great location in West Akron. West Akron has needed a friendly-neighborhood comic and gale shop for a long time. Everything is well-displayed and well lit. New comics weekly, back issues and supplies. Back issues plus card games, table top and other games. I saw a plethora of graphic novels plus some premium wall books. They have a large gaming area and posted gaming nights. Check out the photos for statues and pops. Over all a great looking , nicely organized shop. Stop in and support them! I believed they opened their store in November 2025. My friend Christina and I stopped by in mid-March 2026 to browse books as we waited for our dinner reservation next door at Amba. BOOKS/OTHER -- There are 2 levels of books to browse with the upstairs filled with used books and downstairs containing new books. I bought two used books for $6 each - one is titled Disgrace and the other is titled Sapiens: A brief history of humankind. I haven't read these 2 books yet but I am excited to later this year. Besides books, I noticed other items for sale such as some cute handbags (small tote bags with jewelry or charms on them) and t-shirts. FANTASY/SCIENCE FICTION -- They offer a wide selection of fantasy and sci-fi books which my friend Christina appreciated which is her genre. There's also a number of board games, a sprinkle of other genres available and an upstairs that has used books. They seem to also have community events upstairs as well which is always great. The prices for new books are comparable to other brick and mortar stores. Anything that isn't in stock but available for order can be ordered. Media stores seem to be rarer and rarer to come by these days, so when I came across this chain, I had a lot of excitement. They offer movies, games, game systems, vinyls, memorabilia, toys, electronics, and more. It's not just current media, but retro and classic media. It's a great store for a media buff. Service has always been nice and welcoming. My biggest focus on my visits have been 4k movies and steelbook. I always browse Blu-ray titles often. Each location has a different selection. Some days you'll find the titles you're looking for. Some days you'll find a gem you didn't expect to come across. Other days you'll strike out. This can cause some excitement when visiting as it's a mystery as to what you'll find. I've had some good finds for fair prices. Prices is one of the reasons for a middle of the road rating. I'm coming across used 4k movies that are priced the same or higher than I can find them brand new. This has killed a lot of the excitement in my recent visits. I've found some of the steelbooks to be priced fair, but many are overpriced by online retailer and even eBay reselling standards. If you're going to be a local store selling used items, you need to sell at reasonable prices to encourage repeat buyers. I still have my old retro game systems and do plan on looking at classic video games for the N64, Sega, Super Nintendo, and other systems. This is a great place to find games. I don't know on prices yet, but glad it's an option. The other aspect is the ability to sell or trade in media for credit. This is the other reason for the lowered rating. I've bought 4k movies that I just didn't enjoy and wanted to basically "trade up". Again, these are brand new movies watched once. You only get penny's for selling or trading in. Very disappointing to pay $15 one week and the next getting a trade in value of $4-5. I'd get more selling on Facebook marketplace and eBay, which is what I'll be doing in the future. Summing this all up, my review is very mixed. The nerd in me loves seeing what I'll come across, but the prices are far from worth it based on my movie searching experience. I can't say I've ever left the store without spending hundreds of dollars and the records are always in good shape well worth the expenditure. That being said I can't really say it's a real welcoming environment. I don't know what kind of crimes are being committed at the Elyria location but when I'm spending $500+ dollars at a time I expect beverages and snacks not being treated like I'm there to steal from them. I don't appreciate being approached by some kid with a face full of piercings that's more likely to rob me than I am to rob them demand I turn over the items I intend to purchase implying that I may or may not intend to steal. Yes I still spent over $500 and would have likely spent more if they didn't make me feel so uncomfortable. Customer service is lacking to say the least.
