The store was well staffed enough that we could banter with some of the employees about the state of the hobby without monopolizing the store, and they were patient enough to let six year old paw though the binders. They even found a few Charizards and Eevees that didn't break the bank. I didn't pick up The One Ring but we walked out with an armful of stuff and a few vending machine treats. They had water, snacks, drinks, and tables enough for any activities you could fathom. I'd strongly recommend this wholesome, clean, and well stocked shop to anyone passing though.

John and crew make this shop accessible to all ages. They have their layout dialed in, their social media dialed in, their special events dialed in and exciting and their books and pricing dialed in so all collectors can enjoy. New books weekly with some cool Facebook intros. A stellar shop cat, Winston, who actually runs things. ( it's a his shop and he actually let's us all enjoy it.) Their back issues are on sale, they have some neat manga titles and families will like the kid's area. They have supplies and probably the largest dual wall of Graphic Novels in Northeast Ohio. I love stopping into a shop that is definitely Chaotic Neutral. Maybe Chaotic Good. Or visa-versa. This shop is showcased / packed with Gaming, Gaming, Gaming. If you look up gaming in the dictionary, there's gonna be a picture of this shop They have gaming supplies, all sorts of card games, all sorts of singles, all sorts of table top games, dice and a great place in the back of the store to sit down and play whatever you desire. Markus also has what I believe is the only display of Sideshow collectible statues In Cleveland. If you like the stuff, be sure to break out your wallet they are not cheap. All along the tops of all the shelves are additional statues and other toys and collectibles. Be sure to look up. They carry, as I said, gaming supplies, and Comic supplies. They also have new comics on Wednesdays and Comics displayed around the store. A huge selection of graphic novels are along the wall on the right hand side. Markus has a lot of marquee or dioramas set up, and I love his Beholder, the huge G.I. Joe aircraft carrier and of course the Star Wars robot in the back. Only pictures can do this store justice. This is my homebase so I might be a little prejudice on the side of Comics Are Go and Eric Anderson. Comics Are Go. I've been going to Comics Are Go since it was under previous ownership with Scott and it was called "Astound" in Westlake, Ohio. I've had the pleasure of watching this shop grow out of its previous location in the same plaza and into bright and spacious space it is now in. Eric Anderson went from being a novice to journeyman comic guy and always a gentleman. First thing you'll notice when you walk in is how light/ well-lit the store is and how open the floor plan is. Comics Are Go was able expand and fill the space with so much good stuff. They have so many back issues plus so many hidden back issues, it's dizzying. Be sure to ask what you're looking for. On the west side of Cleveland, there is probably not a Comic Shop that has more silver, gold and bronze comics available, including slabbed/ graded books. I believe they may have one of the largest selections of variant comics also. If you're a very collector, it's definitely worth your drive. They get new comics every Wednesday, they're always stocked with supplies and their Funko pop wall is amazing. They've also curated a large selection of graphic novels. I'm always mesmerized by the amount of toys that they have and their fantastic selection of statues and busts. And remember when you're looking at the wall books, they probably have 10 times that amount of wall books available or more. Be sure to ask for what you're looking for. I'm sure Eric or Ed will be able to find it for you. Recently, they put together a section of manga so if you're looking for some manga on the west side, Comics Are Go is your place. Every year Eric throws a big shindig for free comic book day, I am sure this year he is going to have special artists and creators. Plus he's gonna have a ton of free comics. Be sure to stop in. There are always shenanigans to be had.

It made me feel like a standard comic book shop you see on tv - a very sexist promotion of sexualized women. In the poster section, there's a gorgeous Psyloche poster...except for how it tries to center and show off her butt and Venus mound with just a slim piece of fabric. There are other hyper sexualized posters of women in comics...and then real women scantily clad like I'm in a teenage boy's (or drunken frat guy's) room. Next to the posters is a drawn pin-up against 'censorship' with the woman's nipples poking out so hard it could take an eye out. By the new comics, there's more drawn pin-up art. Like...so skeevey and clearly the owner doesn't realize how many women read comics? U G H. The good parts that made it so I won't nuke this review (so tempting tho): - it's locally owned - located in sylvania which doesn't have that much - walls are covered with back issues, art, and many collectible toys. - bins and bins of older comics - good variety of new comics There does seem to be a lot of focus on DC/Marvel, but there are some other publishers located. I'll return again to give it another try; I was there for 20 minutes and still hadn't looked at everything. But if I lived here, I would not be a regular subscriber, because the environment is not friendly to me.

Good prices. Lots of books (did I already say that?). Per the usual, I waddled out with arms bursting with my haul. I got a mix of Clearance fiction and some new non fiction. They have cute gift items as well, and the people are friendly. I did sell back a stack on a previous trip, and was not impressed with the buy back prices, but that's pretty much normal for consignment, and it did (temporarily) reduce the book burden in my house, which was the goal. Book burden was replaced during subsequent visit and has been returned to stasis.

Thursday was a bright sunny day and the sun beams shone thru the windows to highlight the comic and toy goodness. New comics come in weekly and they have a nice back stock selection.
