Highly recommend the coffee shop and using it as a venue. Will for sure go back!

The owners placed musical instruments including two guitars throughout the seating area and a PAC MAN machine in the corner. While I was there a father and his sons did a great job displaying their talents while they waited for their order and entertained us well. The atmosphere is relaxing. The choice of seating, music, and decor creates a very relaxing environment. The music I heard, I think, was a mixture of new age and smooth sounds. The seating is a mixture of black leather love seats, couches, and tables with black seats. What I think is so cool is the PAC MAN game that sits in the corner!! The owner must be a PAC MAN fan because his phone has the PAC MAN sounds on it. I heard them when he was in the store using his phone The menu is a traditional coffee shop that combines coffee, teas, smoothies, and sandwiches. But they put their own Akron and personal twist to all their menu items and so you'll find menu items here that you can't find any else. I'm really curious about their craft herbal drinks and what looks like a craft citrus honey with lemon drink. They also have a variety of baked goods that look decadent and delicious. I love their top notch BB merchandise. BB is the only establishment that I've ever seen do temperature checks!! It's like those radars that check your car speed So cool! Kudos to BB!

Perhaps the most covid friendly spot I've been in in a while... upon entry you take your temperature, it's exceptionally clean, staff is well masked, and the plastic shields are surrounding the counter. May I say, it's also the absolute coolest coffee shop interior I've been in, it's practically a post modern meets a dark, contemporary style. It's absolutely fabulous! I think this coffee shop is the perfect fit for the people of Akron. A space like this truly captures what the people need! Dining is available, and I would definitely take advantage of that. There are so many comfy spaces and areas all throughout. The two baristas at the counter were super awesome and made my time in the shop super marvelous. Beyond coffee, you can also get smoothies and sandwiches! The fun part is that majority of the drinks and snacks are named after people super special from the owners family. I ordered the Monique which is quite simply a mocha! I got it iced, which meant that it was a frozen drink. It was chocolatey, smooth, and wonderfully delicious. I can't wait to try more things on this menu. Definitely a must try spot for everyone!

I ordered a wildflower latte (orange and lavender syrups, which I'm pretty sure were made in house) with oat milk and it was delicious. So glad I stopped in...thank you, Basecamp Coffee Bar!

Walking into the parlor of the Monastic Home is like walking into one of those cozy "oldies playing another room but it's raining outside" YouTube videos, except that it's real. Between Hannah's excellent decorating skills (tip: everything you see is for sale!) and the mix of 1930s and 1940s music humming in the background, it's impossible not to settle into a chair and make yourself at home. The hostess of the home, Hannah, is just as equally warm & welcoming. Hannah offers a unique and delicious array of pastries and sandwiches. My cousin and I just about took one of everything; our favorites were the olive oil loaf (trust me, it's good!), raspberry jam bar, and Scottish shortbread. We also ordered lattes with a syrup recommended by Hannah. This is most definitely a spot to come when you want to curl up with a good book and are craving the comfort of home - it's embedded in the Monastic Home's decor & baking and hospitality of Hannah and her family.

Kitchen, real food doesn't start until 1030. So essentially I went twice today lol On the first round, I got an iced Americano with a tablespoon of condensed milk, which was plenty sweet enough, and the espresso had really good, strong flavor. My daughter got the seasonal blueberry wildflower tea, it was a beautiful purple color, but it was a little too sweet for me. There is the option to add lemonade to the tea, but that would've made it so sweet. We also got a bagel with cream cheese and a Rainbow rice crispy just to get a little bite before we came back to order the real food. Once the kitchen was open, we went back, I got the iced coconut Matcha with Boba. It was really really good and quenching. We got all our food to go, the vegetarian fried dumplings, bibimbap with beef, a papaya salad and a veggie bahn mi. It was all very good, the papaya salad was not spicy at all. Next time I would forgo the meat on the bibimbap, all of this food had such great flavor, no meat needed. The guys working the register on both occasions were so patient and helpful. They were not annoyed at my questions at all. Only complaint is they need to be open in the evenings so I can get this for dinner!
