Fantastic experience! I had my doubts coming in about how this experience would be since I'm kind of skeptical of puzzles and riddles. This Escape Challenge exceeded my expectations though and this was the highlight of my weekend! I went with a group of friends and we had a fantastic time figuring out the scenario and how to escape out of the room. I would recommend this for anyone of all ages to have fun solving a puzzle together! Logistics: - No background knowledge necessary. Everything you need to know is in that room. - There's a dedicated parking lot for this event - No need to print out tickets - Lockers are at the initial briefing room to store your phone. Called at 1pm about what rooms had openings between 2-3. Was told about 2:20 and 2:30 times, and what rooms. I let them know we would discuss what room with our group and possibly head in. 1:45 rolls around, we head that way and we call back to let them know. She just started to get very rude and basically said, we would have needed to reserve and hour before. Ok so why did you not say that when we called earlier when I asked about specific times? This was a great experience! I'm visiting Minnesota, the host was so fun and attentive to us! We Escaped the room, with a minute to spare. It was so neat to have THREE separate rooms. You definitely need to come check this escape room out if you're in town. My friends and I tried the Creature room, you'll be wracking your brains and laughing out loud. read more

My husband and I did all four of the Escape Challenge rooms over two days. The game masters and the opener were wonderfully gracious hosts and knew when to provide nudges to help keep the experience moving. The rooms are very well done with good immersion and solid puzzles. We enjoyed each of the rooms a lot and they all are quite strong. The rooms were a good mix of puzzles types and not heavy on any one device. They also didn't send you down dead ends which can be a frustrating loss of time. Definitely recommend for experienced and new escape enthusiasts! read more

Had a blast with the family! Chose Sunday afternoon and was able to have the room all to ourselves. Staff were knowledgeable and friendly. Room (Frank N. Stein) was well done with really cool special affects and decor. Puzzles were challenging but we escaped (with a lot of hints)! We look forward to the next challenge (the lab). read more

This was a super fun and engaging experience. We went as a family of adults as a Christmas present. It was most of our first times. I think we all went in expecting to have fun, but not as much fun as we did. We found it really pretty challenging but not TOO challenging (with help!), and the staff were very nice. Nate and Michelle are so awesome! I don't care what anyone says, this is the place to play in Rochester! Ignore all other reviews except this one haha we had a group of 13 with 2 toddlers and 2 babies. We did boys vs. girls and both Nate and Michelle were totally into it and definitely helped egg on the competition. They were also totally understanding of the toddlers running around like crazy. Came here for my birthday. It was my first Escape Room experience and the first for most in the group. We had three people between the ages of 11 and 15 and the rest adults. We did the creature room which is in thier second location. Just to clarify it is not too scarey for kids. The woman who greeted us was very friendly and just so happened to be the designer of the room. The challenge exceeded my thoughts of what an escape room would be. There were more puzzles than I imagined and the variety was great. We did manage to make it out with 3.42 minutes to spare however we did get a few hints along the way. I was actually pretty sad it was over. This was a great birthday experience on my visit to Minnesota from California. I can't wait to try more and only hope the ones back home are as fun and well thought out. read more

This escape room is so much fun! It was difficult to choose between all the themed rooms but we decided on The Creature, and we were so impressed with how creative it was set up! Had so much fun!! booked at private room for 1:30 and the worker helped me and my father, she was very kind and was kind enough to show us the other rooms incase we wanna come again and book a room. and for those who plan to do a room for 4 do it on the weekend cause apparently for groups of 4 they give you a free private room so its all 4 of you and not any stangers! very fun would recommend!!! read more

I went here for a birthday with friends and we had a ton of fun. There are 2 scenarios with different levels of difficulty. Registration is done online, but the staff were helpful with other questions I had. Groups are max 10 people, but you don't need to have a full group to sign up. We had 7 and another couple joined us, so we had a good amount of people. At $28 a person, it's about standard for a puzzle room but can be pricey if it's for a family event. I'm glad Rochester has something like this! read more

Have done all the rooms here now and have done several escape rooms in Los Angeles. Sadly, Escape Challenge is taking advantage of the limited options for escape rooms within Rochester. I truly feel bad for anybody who has this as their first escape room experience. The rooms have silly puzzles that are easy and extremely unimaginative. Their theming is absolutely atrocious using cheap props from local Halloween stores (creature room). Puzzles have nothing to do with the theme of the room (Norwegian job and Cartel mission). The Norwegian job and Cartel mission are located in a tiny house (with no AC) in downtown Rochester which is awful. Their north location had a lot of potential but they were lazy and didn't bother with theming. This place would go out of business quickly if it was located in a town with more competition. Luckily, more escape rooms are starting to open in Rochester which may force them to actually try. Save your money and go elsewhere. read more
