They had a Beatles exhibit which featured a very nice stroll through the history of the entire Beatles phenomenon. We wound through the pre-determined path which had a few artifacts, most of which were along the lines of "here is a guitar like the one John Lennon played during this period". My expectations weren't too high for seeing real artifacts, so that was fine. They did a very nice job of taking us through the chronology of Beatlemania, and in particular I liked the photos on display. I'm very knowledgeable in Beatles history, and there were many photos that I don't recall ever having seen before. There were some cool interactive setups where you could play with some sound stuff. It was all fun and interesting. I didn't see any souvenirs for purchase that were specific to the Beatles exhibit; I'd have been interested in that. This venue is a historic theater in downtown Rochester, so it has a really cool vibe to it. You enter under the old-school marquee, past the old-school box office, and are greeted by an old-school lobby that has some fun memorabilia you can peruse before entering the main section. That main auditorium is *probably* pretty cool, but when we were in there it was mostly obscured by the Beatles exhibit. My hope is that it retains its classy, retro character, which would make it a nice environment for all kinds of events.

The Chateau is an old and very interesting building. My only negative comment is that it was cold inside. We had parked in the ramp and considered leaving our coats in the car. I was happy that we wore them as it was very chilly in the building. If you get a chance, you should go and see this exhibit, and bring warm clothes.

The hotel is attached to a garage so you simply park and walk into the lobby. It is located downtown around several restaurants and shops. A very walkable area. The front desk is always pleasant and helpful. There is food available for purchase and free coffee always brewing. The hotel is attached to the skyway. If the weather is bad or you have appointments at the Mayo, you can simply jump into the skyway to get to other downtown locations. They have a decent size gym. The rooms are a modern, nice size with fake wood floors, (no carpet which I love) desk, office chair, bench, comforter bed and pillows, Kurig coffee maker, refrigerator, decent size bathroom with nice shower products. It has everything you need to be comfortable. The hotel also has a restaurant called Crave attached on the lobby level. The restaurant has beautiful floor to ceiling windows and a large menu. You could easily eat all week with the variety of food on the menu. The restaurant staff is great. There isn't anything negative I could say about this hotel. It is our go to hotel in Rochester.

We had a totally fine time at the show and found it overall to be a fine experience. But I think that's just what we'd call it -- fine. Good enough that we'd come back, not so great that we'd be first in line. On the plus side: The stage and lighting were all set and fine. The venue had decent acoustics and we had a good view. I was surprised that there was not only beer available but full bar mixed drinks. And I was completely entertained by the fact that this venue is the first I've ever seen that serves these little kind of half pitchers of beer. I would guess there were maybe 4 or 5 beers in one of the little pitchers. But they were nice as an option. Facility was clean, well-lit and overall in good shape. On the minus side: There was a total lack of signs pointing people to the right place for will-call and the general auditorium. As a result, people were wandering around, looking for the right place, trying to go in entrances that were locked, etc. It was somewhat disorganized on the concession area. The folks that helped us were nice, but slow, and screwed up our order twice. it's beer. It's not rocket science. It also irked me that the bar wouldn't sell you a bottled water. You had to go wait in line again at the snack bar and get a bottled water. When I did that, the girl in front of me ordered a bottled water. The girl behind me ordered bottled water. That should tell them something. The acoustics weren't great -- totally not awful, but not the best we've heard. Of course, we were in a gym, so go figure. So, I suppose i'm saying we had a good time and enjoyed the show. It wasn't an ideal place for a concert and the staff could definitely do things to make things more seemless, but we didn't encounter anything that would make us not want to come back.
