I hadn't been to WHL since before the pandemic so I was looking forward to coming back. This place is pretty much the same as it's always been. The one difference is the raised VIP area near the sound board. I'm not sure how long that's been there, but it looks like it may be worth spending the extra money. It's a raised platform with a couple of reserved tables. The drinks are still pretty reasonably priced. A Deep Eddy with tonic is $8 which is less than House of Blues. The music was really loud last night. The sound was more clear on the left side. We saw Teddy Swims and he was fantastic! Security is much more relaxed than at HOB. They don't check vaccine cards and don't have any mask rules. They barely search your bag and they didn't have any explicit bag size policies like HOB. We were able to get street parking since it was a Tuesday night. We had parked in a lot next door, but the parking was $20 so we went and moved the car. The lot had a pay station so it wasn't advertised that it was $20 until we went to put in the license plate info. I'm glad that WHL survived the pandemic. It's one of my preferred music venues in Houston.

Very impressed by Sparkle City Disco as the opening act as they played classic disco infused by their own styles. Moon Taxi was amazing as well. They get the crowd into their shows and the energy was off the charts. As for the venue, the shows are on the second floor so be prepared to climb some steps. It has a bar and merchandise table next to the stage and there's plenty of standing room to watch the performance. Standing only from what I saw so wear your most comfortable shoes. Location is in EaDo next to a few bars and eats so it makes for an adventurous night in town. Look forward to more shows here; now they need to book some solid upcoming artists!

I don't remember them serving food while I was there, but the drinks were definitely flowing. The bartender was friendly and quick with the mixes -- no long waits at the bar, which is always a plus when the place starts getting busy. The energy really picked up once the house music got going. The DJ kept the crowd moving, and the whole space felt lively without being overwhelming. I also appreciated that they had plenty of seating, including booths for groups who wanted to sit back, catch up, and still enjoy the music. It's a solid spot whether you're there to dance or just hang out with friends.

One of the things I like most about this venue is the size. It's small enough that you can actually feel close to the artist, which makes the experience much more personal than a huge arena. I love being up close and personal with the talent, and HOB is one of those places where that's actually possible. The venue has a good concert atmosphere without feeling overwhelming, and I've always enjoyed the energy of the crowd. It's easy to see why so many artists stop here when they want a more intimate show. Overall, it's a solid venue for what I go for.

I love to see how a business can…read moreevolve in my life time, from a little Tex-Mex cafe with a back patio / stage for performance to now a full on concert venue with big name act coming here. They also have a dedicated parking lot. They do have a small kitchen that have food here. But it is all about the concert venue here now. Some part of the venue is not really handicap friendly here. The venue is much more legit compare to back then.

Fortunately when I arrived, I followed the sign to the gate area where there's a more open area for bands to play in an outside covered area. The merchandise tables are on the left when you walk in. Go further to the left and there's a walk-up bar, seating, a small food stand and restrooms behind the bar area. Concerns eased! Had a blast watching the show which included Joey Harkum as the opener and then the Kyle Smith band as the middle act before the main act. The crowd brought awesome energy and all the bands crushed their performances. Plus the floor is very close to the stage so I was able to be up front and center to where you could slap hands with the performers if they feel like it. Only issue is parking. I heard the stories about the parking situations here and noticed that people had trouble parking or trying to figure out if they would be towed. I'd recommend doing lyft/uber here so it's one less headache to worry about. Look forward to more shows here!

My sister parked on the other side and it was 40.00. I only paid 12.00 or so. They recognize your license plate so it's easy to pay and exit. The venue was decent, had a huge bar at the entrance along with a coat check for umbrellas. You can't take them inside. They also check for large bags and backpacks so be careful with large purses. Seating was upgraded for us, we were on about row 10. Seats are super small. Not sure how comfortable someone would be as they are really close together. Luckily, two people next to us did not show up so we could have a seat between us. Otherwise it was shoulder to shoulder. That's the only improvement they need to make. Lots of nice bars and seating along the sides of the venue which allows you to hear the music. The restrooms were small and only 2 were working which made for a long line.

The venue is beautiful, spacious, and designed so well that no matter where you stand, you have a clear view of the artist. I loved that there wasn't a single "bad spot" in the building. The drinks were also pretty good! I ordered a lemon drop, and my husband had an old fashion both were well-made and added to the vibe of the night. The energy of the crowd, the lighting, the sound... everything worked together to make the show feel magical. Erykah Badu delivered, and the venue absolutely did her justice. Overall, it was an amazing show in an amazing space. I would definitely go back again for another concert!
